This was a boot scooting good time! You don't have to own or ride horses to enjoy and appreciate the talent that was here. It's good to see that in this western town that is being converted more to housing development every day that we can go to an event such as this and enjoy the entertainment and these beautiful animals and the men, women and yes children who are brave enough to ride them. I'll be back next year.

This is a great festival that nobody seems to know about. I did not catch the parade, but all of old town proper was shut down, including Scottsdale Rd. The festival was spread out which was unusual as some blocks had nothing to see, do or eat. They had gunfights, four stages for bands, different ethnic areas and the only weak part was food trucks were serving up the chow (kind of a copout as trucks overcharge). The beers were only three bucks, using the ticket system and this was only a one day event. They went to alot of trouble to set things up, but at my 2pm arrival, the streets were happily empty. Will be back next year.

This is one of the cultural highlights of Scottsdale. The parade is a fun, family event that's staged on Scottsdale Rd in Old Town. Families line the parade route while local groups and organizations parade down the street. Horses and horse drawn carriages also walk down the street, celebrating the Western roots of the city. It's a good, wholesome family event. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/parada-del-sol-rodeo-and-parade-scottsdale?select=44A2i4QJgDLTmhgnT4HNQQ#44A2i4QJgDLTmhgnT4HNQQ http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/parada-del-sol-rodeo-and-parade-scottsdale?select=-Q5GZ1KQq0CmO6bwC30IPg#-Q5GZ1KQq0CmO6bwC30IPg http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/parada-del-sol-rodeo-and-parade-scottsdale?select=-eHT7MOOqkNfzLdt2BCP4g#-eHT7MOOqkNfzLdt2BCP4g The rodeo is staged at Westworld and is also a ton of fun. My favorites are the Saddle Bronc and Bull Riding competitions. Overall, both events are good times. Return Factor - 100%

Love that Scottsdale does this parade! Great for families and pets. Neat to get so close and like the new route! Wish the party afterwards had more bands and stuff going on right after parade so Ib be convinced to stay.

Fabulous rodeo. A 69 year tradition. Animals are treated like royalty. A great traditional rodeo with best contestants in the world.

The zoo was fun and we had a great time visiting all of the animals. Some animals were so fun to watch, as others were hiding and sleeping.

Please change it back next year to the more interesting "western town parade" and go down Scottsdale Road all the way.

The things I'd collect and wear. This was an awesome event. Glad I was able to take part in it. Thank you Thriftapalooza! And thank you AE & State Fair for a great event...until again yelpers...

Place seemed brighter and livelier last year. It was also a bit more busy too. This year, it was pretty empty. Lines were short though so that was a good thing. It was hot out on this particular weekend. Wish they would plan these outdoor events during the cooler months. I just had to come back again for a few specific items. Unfortunately, the oysters from Nola Oysteria were a bit overcooked and dry this year. Chili wontons from Zindrew were also better last time. They were also hot (spicy) last time. This time, it was just mild (1 friend can't handle hot). I ended up buying a jar of Zindrew's hot chili oil to take home. Sooo good! Pho soup dumplings were delicious!! I wanted 2 more trays of it! My friend liked the bone marrow. They liked the katsu chicken sando too. My lychee tea was refreshing. My friend got a giant mango drink in the animal jugs but it came with little to no ice!! Was not worth $25 for it. My only regret was not purchasing any dessert to eat or take home this time.

I also sometimes meet up with friends or family or even head there on my own. There's something for everyone and plenty to see and do; however, some of my favorite stores and restaurants have closed and been replaced over the years. It also happens to be where my wife and I had our first date! The Biltmore Fashion Park is known for some great restaurants. While there are some upscale and casual restaurants there, my favorites include Seasons 52 or True Food for a good meal and Frost a Gelato Shoppe for dessert. I really enjoy having several Fox restaurants at the Biltmore. There are also many other restaurants in the area. Several of the restaurants have great happy hours, too. I miss the Crepe Club though several other restaurants have opened since then. There are also plenty of shops from upscale shops to more casual ones like Lululemon and Sakes 5th Avenue. There are fancy clothing stores that my wife may enjoy though I typically enjoy the nice courtyard or seating outside some of the stores while she shops. Then, we grab a bite somewhere together. I miss the Apple Store and Sharper Image but look forward to what is opened next. There are also experiences from the Sip & Stroll (where you can enjoy a beverage from one of six restaurants and then walk around), meet-up with the Phoenix Run Club, the Art Walk, the Swiftie Liftie Outdoor Workout Class, or one of a number of galas or special events. Find more details on what is coming up at the Biltmore Fashion Park at https://www.reddevelopment.com/biltmore-fashion-park/events. While stores and restaurant hours may vary, the hours are typically 10 AM to 8 PM daily except for Sundays from 12 Noon to 6 PM. There is plenty of free parking around the Biltmore Fashion Park along with valet options. You can read more about the Biltmore Fashion Park at https://www.reddevelopment.com/biltmore-fashion-park/visit. I emailed and walked 3.8 miles looking for the event Information booth. I did not see a tent set up that said information on it anywhere. The director did not apologize for not getting the information, nor did they ever give the information, showing a lack of professionalism and respect for me. A simple response such as, Oh, sorry, meet me here, and we can go over the details. Or they could have copied and pasted from another email the information. No, they simply said I was busy, didn't have time, check my signature line. Which does not have the information in it. I sent screenshots showing them this as well. Their inability to communicate, act in a professional manner, treat volunteers with respect, apologize for mistakes, and take accountability for their actions has led me to no longer support this organization. Nor will I recommend it to anyone moving forward.
