To borrow an accurate introduction from John's review, Para USA, formerly known as Para Ordnance, makes 1911 style firearms.
My experience with the Night Hawg was not extensive, maybe 300 rounds.
I bough the weapon from a friend. He didn't like the grip width, so he sold it to me after 100 rounds.
It stovepiped a considerable amount, so I carry my sub-compact Kimber. I liked, and still like, how the Para looks. It looks aggressive and is double stacked .45. I have nothing to fear except a jam. Now it looks aggressive in my gun safe, full-time. One day, after about 50 rounds and with regular maintenance, the slide cracked. Aluminum.

Cool. No, problem. If any of my other weapons crack within the normal scope of use, I obtain my RMA and return it to the manufacturer. Not Para. They told me because the product was used, they would not take responsibility for the flaw, but they'd sell me a new frame for around $300. Don't quote me on the price, as the customer service fiasco was a few years ago.
$900 paperweight. No reason to fix it, honestly. The Kimber works just fine.
My buddy just asked about buying a used Para, so I told him my story and he said Yelp is the proper place to put it. I hope it helps someone. read more
