Food is extremely nice, very well presented. The waiters are very attentive and very little waiting time. They are very considerate and friendly. They are not licensed but you can take your own drinks, alcohol included. Highly recommended. read more

The Rajnagar is a tough find but well worth the journey, the layout and decor is of any Indian restaurant. The food however is a touch above, a starter of tandoor coley was delicious. Soft fish with that spice and a crunchy breadcrumb was fusion British cuisine at its best. Two of the diners I was with had the king prawns which I also tried, also delicious! He prawns were so tender and sweet, impressive cooking. For mains I had a mixed curry, paspuran Korahi, prawn, lamb and chicken in a tomato sauce. Medium spiced it was delicious. Add a bottle of wine and it was a great evening.

I love that they give you two plates of desserts after each meal, which is such a nice touch. It is a bit pricey and the space feels a bit cramped when it's busy, but the quality of the food and the great service make up for it. We went for my dad's birthday and everyone loved it so much we came back for more. We always bring friends who are new to the city and they always leave happy. Definitely recommend!

The decor needs updating as it's a little old fashioned, but the plus side of that is that the food is so reasonably priced because the prices aren't hiked up to fund the refurb! Sometimes is can take a while for your food to come, but that's because it's being cooked to order, not heated up. The food is delicious, the portions generous, and the menu extensive. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.

There is plenty to like with an extensive menu where everything is basically half price. That's half price all day every day as long as you eat in. So that takes a standard chicken curry from £8 to £4. A great tactic to employ when there are lots of other Indian restaurants providing competition along the same strip of the Coventry Road. And the service and food are normally very good. The issue I have is the huge, loud and constantly on TV they have. Inside has been redecorated in a pretty modern style so I guess the TV suits that. But really if that's the atmosphere I was looking for I'd stay at home, pick my own channel and turn the volume down somewhat.

The staff are friendly, there is a good variety of food, and although they have a licensed bar, it's also BYOB; which is always nice. There were 7 of us eating there last night, although some family friends turned up and sat on an adjacent table, (something that always seems to happen when I return to Birmingham) so the atmosphere was probably a little louder than normal. We ordered a range of curries and sides and shared them out tapas-style. On a side-note, if you don't want to share but still want the variety, you can order one of the four Combos, which consist of 2 smaller portions of curry that compliment each other. The chicken tikka bhuna was a bit too spicy for my mom, so I swapped it for my very mild chicken balti. The lamb Sagwala was full of flavour, but had way too many onions in. Unfortunately the garlic & cheese naan was a bit bland and could have used more garlic and cheese... But the coconut rice was delish! I didn't try anything else, but nobody seemed to be complaining so it must have been nice. The price was very reasonable, seven of us rolled out of there stuffed to the gills for just shy of £80.
