I don't eat halal food but this has never stopped me from dining at halal restaurants with friends…read morewho do. Generally, most of these restaurants have catered well for vegetarians so I've just opted for that. However, Lahore Karahi disappointed me. It's more of a fast-food diner than restaurant. And that isn't just a reflection of their tacky decor but also the greasy fast food that is ready in minutes. And their menu has little to offer vegetarians other than chips, which are actually thin, greasy fries. Don't expect comfortable seating. The chairs are plastic and tables have seen better days. Although the restaurant seems to be doing well considering its open all hours (or at least whenever I've passed!) and it's usually bustling with diners. The absolute best thing about Lahore is that it offers an 'all you can eat' deal for a little over £7 that incorporates all the main dishes plus sundries and naan bread. Drinks are extra, and I can personally recommend the mango lassi as a perfect palate-cooler after you've enjoyed some of the spicy treats on offer. Strongly recommended, it's definitely worth the trip. The only downside is that it can be a little tricky to find somewhere to park. If you can walk it, do so.
