The keema curry was a bit too spicy (all four of us agreed) which was a shame as it took away the enjoyment of the other tasty food a little. Overall very flavoursome and fresh though! It was very good and the roti I ordered to accompany it made a nice complement. The location was rather convenient for me as it was between the New St. Station and my hotel. It was easy to find and the seating capacity was fairly plentiful. I was seated right away when I walked in despite the fact that it was relatively busy. I also appreciated their hours as they are open until 10 PM on weekdays and later on weekends. That allowed me to walk in at about 9:15 on a Saturday and not feel rushed to finish my meal. The service was decent. I did not have to wait too long before my server attended to me. My food came out in a reasonable time once my order was placed. The prices were also fairly good for a city centre location. My final cost for everything was just over £17, which was about $22 with the conversion rate at the time. This was a decent deal considering the quality of the fare. The one thing I did not personally like was the excessively loud atmosphere. This was definitely a place for 20-somethings, which meant music at an excessive volume. Unfortunately, this was not to my taste. Add to that a dining room full of people trying to talk over that music and you have an atmosphere that could be surmised to be the antithesis of relaxing. But it all depends on what you are looking for, I suppose. And to be fair, it was not the loudest I've experienced, even on this trip. While I would give this place less than favorable marks for atmosphere, the menu choices were quite nice, the food was very good, the service was decent and the prices were reasonable. I think an overall rating of 4 stars was appropriate. And if you like atmospheres such as what I described, then you might consider it a five-star place.

The restaurant is larger than you first think as it extends on two floors into the back, but its always advisable to book as its full most evenings (weekends at least). The first time i visited i ordered the Thali which comes as a 3 course meal (which a thali main) and then on my second visit i ordered one of the richest most delicious indian lamb dishes i've ever had. You cant go wrong as every dish on offer is delicious! The only difficulty we had was understanding the layout of the menu. Its a little difficult to navigate, so i recommend taking a quick look on the simplified board outside first.

If you would like a dish which is not on the menu they are happy to make it for you. The restaurant is fully licensed. The prices i think are a bit above average but it really is worth it. Although not on the menu, I asked for a Mixed Kebab with some fried onions, which they charged me £3.75, which was very reasonable. Most of the meat was fine, not as spicy as I would like, but it is all down to taste. The fried onions arrived separately, and I think they forgot.... Slight browning, to give a hint they had been fried, but they were still undercooked, and I felt that they had been placed in a microwave. Some ot the meat was burnt. The plate I ate my main off was warm, but the food was served in cold dishes. I had a dabal murgh...I think.... about £7.65.... I checked for it on the on-line menu, but couldn't find it. It was very tasty. We ordered three dishes, and mine was judge to be the best...The others had lamb dishes. I tried them and I thought they were good too. Staff were very friendly. I was with someone who has been there many times before, so the owner stopped and chatted. He must be doing very well, as he has a Bentley Convertible outside.
