Stumbled upon this restaurant on a whim. Every dining experience here has been consistently phenomenal. The tikka marsala and chaat are hands down the best versions of this dish I have ever tasted. Second time coming here and really like this spot! It's very pretty and vibey inside, makes you feel like you stepped into India. First time coming service was great, brunch was amazing! The eggs were some of the best eggs I've ever had in my life. Butter butter and Indian spices, yum!!! And their chai espresso martini is one of my favorites in the city! Second time I came with my girlfriends for dinner. Service was fast but then our food took forever to get to the table. A new favorite go-to! Awesome food and very reasonable prices given that the portions are huge- I've been able to make two meals out of them. The butter chicken was so flavorful and just a bit of kick without being overwhelming. The garlic naan is on point, with beautiful crispy edges, chewy interiors, and topped with plenty of thin-sliced garlic. We had such a great time at this restaurant. The food was really good and tasty. The flavor was just so potent. I would suggest if you come here to branch out and try something that you haven't tried before. I also got to try the masala chai and it was very good. I did wish they had paratha on the menu. But I was still happy with the food that I ate. They had a variety of drinks and cocktails and a few mocktail options. The service that we had was very quick and good. They did a good job of clearing our table and refreshing our napkins and silverware without any prompting. The space was very cute inside and it wasn't overly crowded when I arrived but did get busier throughout the night. This is a perfect place to go for a dinner date night. I suggest going on Sunday evening as well to get a more private dining experience. I really enjoyed my dish with the lamb taar gosht and I added additional spice to it which made it perfect. It wasn't as spicy as the fiery vindaloo so I think it was the right spice level for me. I got to sample the fish chittnad as well with the salmon and that sauce was so flavorful as well. The samosas were good and the sauce was very sweet with some green spicy sauce as well. Getting the naan platter was very much needed to get the most of the meal so you can absorb all the sauce of the dish. The mussel is a must order and we were soaking our naan in that dish as well. We had an amazing dinner at pappe on a weekday night. Our server, Sami, had great recommendations. Started off with the naan and chutney flights, along with spicy chicken tikka. It is very spicy so if you cannot tolerate spice, make sure to mention it. We also had the lamb samosas they were not on the menu, but they are planning to include it, the samosas were great . The eggplant dip was a must have. It is a fire roasted eggplants with tomato labneh pinenuts and served warm with naan. For the main courses, we had the goat curry, the shrimp, curry, and Palak paneer . The goat curry was my absolute favorite dish of the night, perfect balance of spice umami flavor - so yummy! We had a few nonalcoholic and alcoholic cocktails very well presented. And dinner with their play on tres leches. The atmosphere and the vibes are also very cool, loved the traditional/modern Indian decor. It is on 14th street so parking is rough. Stopped by Pappe after being in the Logan Circle neighborhood on a Thursday night. We were hungry for some substantial food and Pappe seemed to have a little something for everyone (you can always rely on Indian food to have a good amount of gluten free and vegetarian options). We got the branzino appetizer which came wrapped in a banana leaf. We also got the butter paneer and the chicken tikka masala entrees. Everything was delicious! My faves were definitely the chicken tikka and the branzino. The branzino had this green chutney on top that had a nice kick to it. My friends got some garlic naan too and they seemed to enjoy that. The server gave us complimentary sparkling water which was a really nice touch too. Her recommendations were spot on and she was honest about whether she thought we were ordering enough food for us to enjoy family style between three people. It ended up being just enough! We did have to order some extra rice to finish off the entrees though. The final total was about $25 per person. Not bad! The inside is really pretty with dim lighting and curtains draped over the ceiling. Everything was absolutely amazing!!! My fiancé and I came here for our anniversary and it was by far the best experience we have ever had. We went for brunch last Saturday, everything from the food, to the service to the ambiance was perfect. To start, our waiter was incredibly kind and friendly. I picked a bottle of Riesling. His bottle service was absolutely perfect. I didn't have to pick up the bottle to refill our glasses even once. He gave the best recommendations for appetizers and entrees based on the wine we chose as well as what would complement the other items we had ordered. He was always right there when we needed something but never hovered. Now on to the food. It was by far the best Indian food we have ever had. And I used to be a manager at an Indian restaurant owed by a guy from Goa. Everything was so flavorful, perfectly cooked meat. We had a duck curry that was by far the best thing we have ever tried. The desserts were amazing. The chutney was absolutely perfect. The wine list was amazing, excellent choices for Indian food from a pairing standpoint. I'm a sommelier so I do feel pretty confident talking on it. Now onto the ambiance. The lighting is perfect. Each table has a small light on it, doesn't block the view of the table at all but perfectly lights it up. The color of the walls is beautiful and matches the vibe. I loved all the decorations. And I absolutely loved the layout of the bar. Overall this gets a perfect 10/10. It was also excellently priced for the amount of food and the quality. The issue truly is their happy hour. The restrictions they have in person do not match what's on the website. The happy hour deals do not include their happy hour cocktails. The palak paneer was pretty good and just a teeny bit spicy, which makes it for a really good lunch. There wasn't a lot of paneer though, but it was very creamy. The mango was pretty standard, but it was very sweet and creamy as well. It's a perfect sweet treat for a hot day. The naan was standard but also tasted pretty good especially the herb one! It's also pretty big. The vegetable samosas were also pretty good and crispy. Overall, very good place for lunch. We got the nann bread basket and I got the chicken tikka masala. The nann we got were onion, green chili, and butter. The onion was probably the best out of those. For entrees we split the allepey fish curry, lamb shank curry, tandoori chicken, and paneer masala. We also ordered 3 garlic naans. This was all split within a party of 5. Out of everything we ordered the fish curry was the best thing. It was sea bass which was delicious and really flavorful. The lamb was presented well, but the taste was a little bland. The naan was good but small, order at least one per person. Mango lassi was good. Overall out of everything we ordered I only enjoyed my mango lassi and the fish curry. Ordered samosas, butter chicken, palak paneer, and mango lassi. We started with the samosas which were AMAZING. They were a little spicy, but paired well with the chutneys that came with it. They were incredibly hot and the outside was crispy. The butter chicken was lacking a little flavor, but was otherwise good. The palak paneer was better than others that I've had, and I really enjoyed the consistency of the sauce. Their garlic naan was soooo good and I liked that it came with a lot of garlic.
