I ordered a breakfast brisket taco. It was smaller than it used to be. The good was good but very overpriced. It was missing the hash brown inside too. Definitely disappointed. Hopefully they address this. read more

This is one of our favorite BBQ experiences in the area. My husband loves the beef ribs and I love the pork ribs. We both love the corn! It's so good! read more

Good customer service. Of course, with it being BBQ, I'm not surprised that it was so expensive. $50 for 2 people. Didn't feel like the portions were worth what we paid. Also- the food was ice cold. I ordered brisket and sausage, and they were both actually cold to the touch. Disappointing to say the least. But they have Texas toast bread slices and they were good. The bread was probably the best part about the meal. (Also, the mac and cheese was a 0/10. Would not recommend) read more

My experience at this location has been mixed - we've had some slow service and quality issues, but also a few times when they've delivered as expected. Recently had to bring breakfast to the office so I called the evening before to place an order for their (insanely) large premium tacos. I was a little worried something would go wrong, but they had my order ready at 7:45am as promised! I pulled through the drive thru, paid, and was on my way to work. Thank you! The Tacos were delicious! I highly recommend the premium brisket, well worth the extra $1 per taco. These things are more like a burrito. You can't eat more than one! Love Pappas! Just wish this location could deliver a consistent quality experience every time... read more

It was bad. The food had no flavor. Gas station food is better , it was my first and last time eating their. Trust me if you want real food don't eat here. read more

All they get is one star from me if I could give 0 I would. What can I say over priced? Went to buy 2 Turkey sandwiches got home and saw they put two tiny slices of Turkey on each one! I'm talking about .25 thick each slice! I ate more bread than anything. Yeah never going back! I see why the reviews are so bad. Save your money and look for a new bbq place like I'm fixing to do. read more

The food is too fatty I went and got brisket. I got four pieces as big as a silver dollar and fat.

This was our second visit to this location. Our first visit was less than stellar, but we waited a month or two between visits & thought we'd give it another try. He got the 2 meat plate each time & both times it was not good. His brisket looked like it was cut off the end piece and at least 2 pieces of meat were mostly fatty. It all looked really unappetizing. Same issue the last time with his ribs. I got a baked potato both times - first visit the girl taking my order said they were out of potatoes. Talked to the manager to find out they had put in a new batch & it would take ~5 mins to get me a potato. Poor training or misunderstood on her part. This time, the line moved so slow the food was lukewarm by the time we got to the table with it. We got through the line only to find they were out of tea, straws, & I grabbed some of the last clean silverware available. Fuqua & Kirby locations have a system that this location needs to figure out desperately. We will not be back - there are too many other choices with much better food & service for a much more reasonable price. read more

Food was delicious, portions were perfect for our family. Their service was great, and the restaurant was super clean.

I'm a BBQ snob and Pappas is just average. I ordered the half chicken and pulled pork with ranch beans and coleslaw. The chicken was decent had a good flavor and was not dry. The pulled pork was ok my only complaint is it was a bit fatty. The ranch beans were blah but the the coleslaw was pretty good. I also got the tangy Carolina sauce and that was really good. The only down fall is they don't have a thick traditional Texas BBQ sauce. The plus about Pappas is they do have a drive thru and the service really quick. read more

I always order extra BBQ sauce and never receive. Instead for 2 meals we always get 1 BBQ sauce for each that are halfway filled. I frequent this place a lot you would think they would be a little more generous with their very expensive food. read more

Over the last several visits thru the drive-thru my EXPENSIVE order was either wrong or missing something altogether. Taking an order and filling it isn't a hard task even for the feable minded but apparently they simply don't care. I don't mind paying the high prices but getting everything I paid for is just good business practice. Since I've been a long time customer I noticed that lately the portions are almost half what they used to be. High prices for smaller portions AND then not getting everything I paid for is a clear indication of poor management. Definately not worthy of the Pappas name. read more

There isn't a valid reason for them to serve reheat meat at 11:00 am. Purchased a slab of baby back ribs. They were dry and where from what they had left over from yesterday night. I also purchased 3 chili cheese fries and the cheese was separating. Complete disappointment. If you are going to raise the prices up every year. The least you can do is make sure the quality of the food matches the prices. read more

I want to give a big thumbs up to one of the managers name Oscar. Sunday, September 5, 2021 I called and asked for a manager. I had a special rib order that I wanted to request. I live in La Marque, Tx and did not want to drive that distance unless there was a chance that they could fulfill my request. I talked to Oscar and he knew what I wanted and stated that he would make sure my order was like I requested. Thank you Oscar because it was EXACTLY what I wanted and was worth the drive. By the way the ribs were EXCELLENT!!!! read more

Very convenient hearty lunch. I usually get carved smoked Turkey breast with 2 sides. It's too much for one meal, so I make it two. The breakfast tacos are delicious and large, too. And I live the large cup of fresh iced tea! read more

Stopped by Pappas Bbq to buy a pound of Sliced brisket and a half pound of pulled pork, as well as a gift certificate. Since I was getting my food to go, I went to the drive through. As I approached, I noticed a sign that stated, with the purchase of $50 gift card, you receive an additional $10. So after I paid for my food, I bought the $50 gift card and asked if I could get the $10, the young lady working the drive through asked the manager and the manager said no. So I told her the sign is still in front of the drive through, she apologized and said the manager said no. I wasn't rude and it wasn't her fault, but if the sign says $50 and get another $10, then they should honor the promotion. The young lady at the drive through was very kind and I don't blame her a bit, I just think a company like Pappas should honor their signage. The brisket and pulled pork were good, but I was surprised to only receive 2 slices of bread for 1.5 lbs of meat. No pickles or onion were offered either. I'm not a complainer, but I eat Pappas often and feel the service this particular time was underwhelming! read more

2 months ago they were worth every dime an dollar the last 3 visits on friday between 5 an7 pm theyhave the worst customer serv an can not put together 4 simple orders.2meat dinners the 4 orders were placed we are the 2nd cust in line an we get half our food an the girl calls the next order out for 3 different people standing be hind us in line an they prepare the food for the customers food behind us an we let the customers go ahead of us. So we tell the cashier whats up an she doesnt kno how to fix the issue so she finds some one else to fix it an we wait another ten minutes because the on duty manager cant delegate an the guy cutting the meat does what he wants. Dinner for 4. 84.00 dollars for dried out barbque an piss poor serv. Bring bk the other managers. The restraunt wasnot busy an they have no body to blame but poor staff leadership. We placed an order over the phone and when inquiring about price on item person didn't know how much it was for an additional side of sausage for meal. We order there Texas Dirty Rice it was cold and the rice was hard. The food wasn't warm when picked up. Will unfortunately take my business elsewhere since food didn't meet any expectation read more

Pappas is pretty good. They have my favorite coleslaw (it has pickles in it!). The BBQ is good (although Rudy's is much better). Hubby and daughter love the mac and cheese. We don't go here often, just when a craving for BBQ and we don't feel like driving to Rudy's. read more

Noisy and the food is so so, it was better years ago but has kinda lost its push to be good and more like in to making money!

I went through the drive thru. I was impressed the line moved fairly quickly. I ordered the breakfast plate with sausage. Sausage is the patty. The plate comes with hash brown, eggs, tortillas, sausage patty, and refried beans. The eggs were swimming in water from being undercooked. The pork sausage patty was severely pink. The only thing that was good were the hash brown. The picture doesn't show them because that was the only thing I ate. I hate I wasted my money. If I had time to take it back I would've definitely taken it back. The line moved fast because the food isn't cooked. read more

It's been about 4 mos since our last visit. This time, I was very disappointed in my chef salad with 3 meats. The young server put one tong of lettuce in the large bowl. I told her that was less than half of the lettuce that we got before. She ignored me and went on to put the rest of the salad items on there. I asked for turkey rather than sausage. Another gal chimed in that there were no changes allowed then after she placed the meat on my salad she corrected herself and said I could select the meats next time. I wished I had walked out at that point. My husband enjoyed his dinner selection. I wasn't going to post anything until I saw another lady at the table who sat down right after us with a much larger salad. I was miffed when I realized the same gal served her as well. I will not be back anytime soon as I was not treated the same. Very poor business practice. read more

Just moved to the area and wanted to try a bbq place. This place ended up being really good and filling. I got the bbq pulled pork sandwich with a side of potato salad and it was really good. I agree with some of the other reviews. We went to the drive-thru on a Sunday night. My boyfriend was craving a Brisket-Stuffed Baked Potato. And just like others said, they were out! So instead we ordered the Chopped Brisket Sandwich, fries and sausage link. I will say the Chopped Brisket Sandwich was AMAZING!! Great flavor, the perfect amount of sauce and fresh bread. Yum! And I'm a HUGE lover of French fries. Their fries are especially stellar. I didn't try the sausage link. But my boyfriend seemed to like it. I do think their quality of food is outstanding. But it's frustrating when they run out of menu items. This seems to be a pattern with them. Another thing to keep in mind is they are NOT cheap. I don't mind paying a little more for high quality but some people do not agree. I believe our total was over $19. We will definitely be back! Their food is !! read more

The BBQ for our recent visit was really good. The best part about Pappas now is their BBQ sauce though. The absolute worst part about our recent visit was the pasta salad though. I had to spit it out the second I put it in my mouth and tasted it!! I knew it looked different than the original pasta salad they used to have but this is by far the worst tasting thing I think I might have ever had!! I'm not sure if someone spilled the bottle of vinegar in this batch or what?! I've eaten at Pappas for years, dating back to when it was the Brisket House at Gulfgate and I wish they would go back to the original pasta salad!! read more

FOOD POISONING!!! In-laws live close to this location and they took the whole family out to dinner this past Saturday. Most of the people who ate got food poisoning, myself included. I'm not 100% sure what the exact culprit was but it might have been the potato salad. I haven't been this sick in a long time and you better believe I will never come back. read more

Last night was probably our last time to go to Pappas BBQ. Each experience has been worse than the last. When they first opened they were packed and it took so long to get through the line people gave up and quit going. It wasn't unheard of to wait 45 minutes or longer in line. There are so many ways they could speed up service but they don't even try. Extremely bad management is part of the problem. Last night we stopped by for what we hoped would be a quick but good dinner after running some errands. There weren't many cars in the parking lot and when we got inside there was one family of 4 in front of us in line. It still took over 15 minutes for us to get through the line. All we ordered was a chopped beef sandwich, a smoked turkey sandwich, 1 order of fries and we grabbed a cheesecake and 2 waters. After a long wait, they handed us the 2 sandwiches which were small and already cold. And we had to stand there for several minutes waiting for the french fries while the sandwiches got even colder. We watched as the girl who took our order used the same gloves to handle money and then food. We went to sit down and even though it's a huge place and there weren't many people in there it took us a few minutes to find a table because they were all covered in dirty dishes that no one had picked up. I couldn't believe just how little meat they put on the chopped beef sandwich. There was so much sauce (which I hadn't asked for and didn't realize they were going to put on it) that the meat was practically swimming in it. It looked exactly like the chopped beef you buy in a plastic tub from the supermarket and tasted pretty much the same. It was hard to eat because there was so much sauce it was very harsh tasting. Unfortunately the turkey was dry and cold. A couple of the employees were standing around in the dining room talking and one of the managers kept walking out and joining in their conversation while tables still went uncleaned. My husband went to the front to ask for a to-go container to take what we hadn't eaten home and there were 2 managers standing there eating in the kitchen. They never even looked up. It was really ridiculous. read more

I was excited to go and at first glance the food looked really good, and when I took the first bite the chicken was still alive . Raw it was raw. It completely ruined my family and I's experience. A team member apologized and got us a new chicken but by that point we had lost out appetite. My overall experience would have been good if our food was not raw. In conclusion good service , good ambience, questionable food. read more

Eh... I mean I have not had issues with food running out the times my husband and I have gone. But, what is an issue is the looking wait. I dont know if the people don't know what they want and stand there trying to decide or what!
