And was also a little anxious because I wear hearing aids, take them out when getting a haircut and had a stylist once (at a different location no where near here!) in which i couldn't hear and it ruined the whole experience. My mom made an appointment online for me, originally with nicole. On Saturday, and a little annoying because I was at work, and thank goodness I had time to answer my phone, but the receptionist danielle called me and said that Nicole no longer works there, but can switch to Margaret. I said sure and that was that. Now because I was at work, I don't understand why she could have just changed that via their website or via a text. Just some feedback. Anyways, First time in this Salon, walked in and had to wait a while to get checked in. Finally someone came and checked me in. She was pleasant. Then after a few minute Margaret came out and gave me a warm welcome. My mom was also there, but as moral support and as support for my hard of hearing, as she told her about it. She seemed to understand because she spoke loud enough where I can hear. And told her exactly what I wanted, which was a trim (about 3 inches), and what kind of style i wanted. First Margaret Dry cut it, then we shampooed and conditioned, then cut again, and dried the hair in a wavy pattern that looked straight. however, I absolutely loved my new look for the day. Price was 67.00, now on their website it does say haircuts are $40.00 and the add ons like shampoo and blowout add cost to it. But anyways, I think it was a reasonable price. Paid via credit card and left a cash tip. Would definitely be back again at the Jonas Salon! Thanks Margaret for a beautiful haircut!

She initially asked if I wanted a haircut and I said more of a trim, however, I said the back was getting longer than the sides and I felt it was a bit of a mullet look. She recommended an inch off the back and I agreed. I have a habit of closing my eyes and relaxing while my hair us being done. When I opened my eyes, I could not believe how short she had cut the sides of my hair--it was clear up to the ends of my earlobes!!!. Her comprehension of what I requested to be done failed miserably. If I stated that I wanted the back of my hair to blend with the side length, why would you chop at least 3 inches off the sides. She asked if I wanted to see the back and I said no. I didn't care at that point. My hair was ruined and I did nit want to cry in public. She mentioned that she had left the top layers longer like I requested, which actually ended up making the style worse! The woman behind the desk was very professional and offered to not charge me for the cut and I said I would pay for Melissa's time but not a tip. They did give me a discounted price. I called several salons from my car immediately after I left trying to find anyone that could try and improve upon what I was left with. I could not find an opening anywhere. I was distraught because my grandchildren were coming from Washington state for a vacation and we had scheduled a family portrait to be done. I was also growing my hair out as I have a cruise to Europe in May and I wanted to be able to clip my hair up and also have it long enough for a ponytail. There's no way that will happen! With the summer humidity, I can't do a thing with this chopped off hair! It's a frizzy mess and impossible to style! I canceled our portraits and want no photos of me until this hair grows out. I am so angry and disappointed. I have lost my hair twice in my life to cancer and then to severe Covid, and I was fine with it. I would rather be bald than to have her cut my hair again--it was that bad. The worse part was that Melissa did not even try to remedy the situation. She saw no fault in what she did. I would have at least said that I was sorry you are not happy with the results. Can I offer up another stylist to see if they can help. She took no responsibility whatsoever. A couple of hours later, I received a call and was asked if I was willing to have another stylist try to do something to improve the cut. I was desperate and figured it could only get better. I was very appreciative that the salon reached out to help. I saw Janee and she did the best she could with what little hair I had left. She was very patient and professional as she watched the tears rolling down my face. I am grateful for her concern and her help--something that Melissa completely lacked. I am a year away from getting my hair back to the length it was. There's not a day that goes by that I do regret sitting down in Melissa's chair that day. Lily and the team at Crave 4 were amazing and patient and after about 3 hrs of stripping, coloring , cut and blow drying my hair . I walked out of there feeling fabulous. I will be back and I recommend the whole team and especially lily to all my friends and even my neighbors. Thank you Lily , I'll be back for my touch ups very soon.

To note, the stylist did not explain to me that she didn't feel confident in her ability to blow my hair out. She made ONE comment that a piece of hair wasn't curling, and I said she can use the iron on that section if needed. I was also able to clarify that the stylist did NOT ask someone else to step in until AFTER my hair was "done". If this was communicated to me at ANY point during my appointment, I would have gladly had someone else who felt confident in their ability to blow my hair out step in. Lastly, I was able to clarify that no, it was never mentioned that my deposit would be refunded. No mention of that was made while I was there. I am glad I was able to clarify these points, and I will take Renee up on having someone else blow out my hair another time. Looking forward to a better experience next time! ----------- Original review: The only service I can speak to is the blowout- the other services may be great, but words can't even describe how unacceptably horrible this blowout is. This blowout took 2 HOURS, and my hair is a curled mess and not at all a voluminous blowout. Not only did specifically say I wanted a 90s style blowout with lots of root volume, I even shared 2 photos and mentioned that when I do my blowouts at home I put the sections in rollers after drying to achieve the desired look. All of that was completely ignored. I mentioned that I was ok with using the curling iron if needed, but again, my goal was a blowout look. Instead I got a head full of ratty curls. The owner did offer to have someone re blow it out. I appreciated that, and I would have gladly taken them up on this offer if I hadn't already been there for 2 hours. I left incredibly disappointed at the subpar quality. I hope they enjoyed my $25 deposit. Please save your time and blow dry your hair at home or go literally ANYWHERE else.

Please see update********…read more They say, if you walk into a salon and love the hair-do on the stylist you've found your salon. I've found my salon! I first found Tammy, my massage therapist. I searched yelp, google then Facebook (being new to the area) and Tammy's name popped up quite a bit. I called and we set the appointment. Tammy is very kind and wants you to get the most out of your treatment so she reviews your needs prior to your massage then during to ensure you're happy. I have myalgia so not all days are the same but Tammy works with me and I appreciate her very much. As I was leaving she helped me schedule my hair color appointment with Angela the following week. I brought her a photo and I absolutely love the color. She was spot on! We didn't cut yet I go Monday. I'll try to remember to do a follow up. I know I won't be dissatisfied though. The shop is in a mini strip mall but not a chain!!! The decor is so welcoming and beautiful. Beverages are available as well. (But not offered. You must ask-communication is a bit of an issue here. I checked in and sat 20 minutes because my stylist claimed she didn't see me walk in behind her) *******UPDATE******* still LOVE Tammy for massages! Still recommend her highly. It was a a very tough decision - I've moved on to another salon. My original visit was for TAMMY and she recommended upon my request a stylist. My hair is very think and coarse and I needed someone that didn't upcharge me after quoting me on 2 separate occasions. I wasn't in love with my hair as I kept telling myself it is growing out. I do love my new salon but seeking a new massage therapist. (Also, the fact that it's been at least two months and no one has called to see why I left left a bad taste as well!)

The cut and color were good except he snuck in a few little baby bangs after I told him I wear my bangs long and pushed to the side. But really the bottom line for me was the price. I come from New York where based on the stereotype is more expensive than North Carolina. I was charged $30 more than what I have been paying previously in New York.
