The front of the shop that face Main Street is where the beading supplies are and Diakonos has one of the best supplied bead supplies shops I've ever seen. Not just the seed bead stuff here. You can make some very unique jewelry here for yourself or to give as a gift. Not even Madison can compete with what they have. Definitely worth a look if you are into making your own jewelry. The back half of the shop is the gift area, with completed jewelry made by the owners and some of the folks that come in for the classes. You will need to take some time, as I did, on my first visit, to look at everything, as there is much to take in. Along with the wonderful jewelry they sell, they also have candles and wall hangings to give as gifts. Given that the name is right out of the New Testament, you will find plenty of Bible verse gifts here, but it is not overwhelmingly Christian. Each group member is assigned a specific section of the store in which they come up with the types of items to carry, how items are displayed and the associated logistics. In that way they can better cater to the needs of the customers and really know what they are looking for. Because of this, if there is something you would like, feel free to let the section manager know and there is a great chance he or she can order it in the next time an order is placed, especially if the item has the potential to be popular. In addition, they offer great cooking classes here. This is the best part. I look forward to ending work on class days and then heading over to Orange Tree Imports to learn to cook. Each month the "market" has a theme and is only open a few select days a month. Because of this, the store is very, very crowded, so be prepared to get cozy with the people around you. The nice thing is that with such a beautiful setting, everyone is in a good mood and friendly and you'll have a few random conversations about the goods you're looking at. The owners seem like super sweet people who are enjoying living their Parisian dream with their customers - on our visit they were co-manning the checkout counter to get everything wrapped and added up in quick fashion and were very friendly and gracious - they exude appreciation that you're there and make you feel like a regular that's stopped in a corner shop as opposed to a stranger in an airport. I came away with a lovely greeting card featuring a fox and floral design, plus a ceramic bird teapot for my mother for Christmas. After getting home I flipped the pot over to see who made it, and was a bit disappointed to see it was a mass-market made in China piece. The store's tagline is "Authentic. French. Vintage." and this was none of those things. The inexpensive price probably should have tipped me off ($17), but at the end of the day it was a great, affordable find that I think the recipient is going to love, so who cares? Looking forward to stopping back in again, and I'm excited to go during warmer weather so I can sit out for a bit and watch the planes come and go!

They do a decent amount of online orders and print sales so that is good, but we hope this place doesn't get shut down. The building desperately needs repairs and work done and please please update the POS system. Your poor employees have to do so much extra work because of how outdated the POS system is. Riley has been there every time we have shopped here, he is a great employee. We had dealt with the other employees when been there and they all are helpful and knowledgably. The prices are the same if not better than other stores but I rather pay more and not have a busy overcrowded and picked thru items and shop here even if paying a few cents more. We always find what we need and if there is something they dont have we have ordered it to ship to us directly. Riley recently got us signed up for the business membership program and glad we did, we saved over $80 on our recent purchase. I wouldn't say the customer service is the best for my retail manager point of view, but if you ask questions, they will answer them. They don't necessarily go out of their way to ask how you're doing or any of that stuff though. I will say I still enjoy every trip that I go there. Yesterday I bought bubbly an array of items for charcuterie boards, and some really amazing gourmet snacks, not to mention a couple of hot sauces.
