The shop is clean and neat and is set up very cute. We made an appt with Kathi and met my daughter and future son-in-law there literally just time, as they had driven down from OR for a visit and pick out their wedding invitations. Kathi was very helpful in picking out colors and font/designs that compliment each other. The invitations come in packs of 25, we ordered 3 packs. Total 750! A bit shocking, but my daughter loved them and had just spent 2 hours in the shop picking out the perfect invitations. Once the invitations were ready my mom picked up the two bags and brought them home. I noticed there were several small boxes. Opened the first one...glue dots! What in the world? Now, I'm a scrapbooker so before opening the other boxes I knew...we would be putting them together!! So, we paid 750 for some beautiful purple and gold glitter card stock!!!! Oh and the wedding info printed out on cream colored card stock. It was not at anytime conveyed to us that we would be putting together the invitations. For this price we should've had them completed and in envelopes, these are not bought from Hobby Lobby or Staples for goodness sake. Nor were they ordered online from a "printing" shop. 3 stars for cleanliness.

    Custom wedding invitations.

I decided to go the custom route for my save the date wedding invitations. I wanted something unique and Kathi was able to deliver! She is so fun to work with and provides EXCELLENT feedback on trends, and also tips. They came out beautifully and people are still talking about them! Support local!!!

My wedding planner introduced me to Kathi, and I honestly could not be more pleased that we were introduced.

Michaels is usually a fun place to shop, and I always leave with more items than I planned to or…read morecame for, but this store was very different. The store looked well organized for the most part and they did not seem to be understaffed in any way. There were many employees around, but not one of them greeted us or even looked at us as we passed them. I even went into the picture frame area because I had a photo print that I was thinking about having matted and framed, but the gentleman behind the counter was laser focused on his computer screen, he did not even bother to look up. I looked around at the merchandise in this area for a bit longer and then proceeded to browse other areas, where we also encountered more employees who were too busy (not helping others) to look in our direction or acknowledge us. The planner that I came for was no where to be found even though the online information told me that it was in stock at this location(it even told us which aisle). I did not bother to approach any of the employees to ask for anything because they all seemed pretty unapproachable, and the opposite of friendly or ready to assist. I found a different planner that I felt would suffice. My daughter found a bunch of yarn skeins that she liked for a crochet project, and then we made our way to check out. The woman who was checking us out sarcastically and abruptly stated "Ya got a planner, now your life's gonna be perfectly organized" as she scanned it and placed it in a bag. She was bitter about something, and that was obvious, but why would she bring that to work? I awkwardly attempted to laugh, my daughter pinched me, and then I just thanked her and we left. We should have spent at least double what we spent, but nobody wanted to help us spend our money. It's too bad. I don't know why, but it seems that this Michaels has a dark cloud over it or something, because the folks who work here absolutely hate their jobs and it really shows.
