The owner conveyed this a woman owned and woman led bookstore. She also said some of their key bookstore tenets was inclusion, intersectionality, and authenticity. A total of 5 authors shared their thoughts on becoming authors, challenges and opportunities. The authors discussed different genres of books - children books, sci-fi, romance, poems and biographies. One author shared some thought-provoking messages: "You don't what you think until you see what you say. Words were currency and powerful." She also said her mother never asked her how her day was but instead what questions did you ask in class. She indicated these questions provoked deeper conversations. This was a great event...

To and from work, at home while house cleaning, I mean every chance I could listen I did. Finished in 3 days! So hooked. Heard about Phat Tracks, so thought I would check them out. Wasn't planning on anything, just seeing what spoke to me. And lo and behold, the second book was there. Caught Up. So of course I bought that book to read. Also spotted the third book, Game On. So when I'm ready for that third book, I'll be coming here. Cause it's that addicting and I don't want to go a day without reading the series. Book store has a lot to offer. A little bit of all genre. Some albums, coffee mugs, stickers, incense, just a really cool place to grab a book, read, walk around and look at all the little things. Owner is wicked nice. We chatted a little. He does reels on IG, so if you want to give him a follow and check out this small local business. Highly recommend supporting the little guy. They offer classes too. Book signing tours. Just check them out on IG for schedule. Parking lot is large. Love a place where I'm not struggling for street parking.

They graciously offer them for whatever the person wants to pay for them. I got a wonderful book about bugs for my grandchildren, it has a original price tag on the back of $24.99. This book literally looks brand new. I gave them $10 which I think is a fair price for a secondhand book. I think it's important not to take advantage of their generosity. They also have CDs for music and books on tape and a children's section and fiction and non-Fiction. This is an excellent resource right here in our beautiful Georgetown! The ladies who work here are so kind and generous and sweet and considerate. They were very helpful. I highly recommend this store. I'm going to save this book for a Christmas gift. It is in such good condition. My grandkids are gonna love it!

It is not super big but it makes great use of the space it has tons of pre loved books, stickers, various gifts, oracle and Tarot cards, witches candles and so much more. SHANA SAYS: Super cute atmosphere, fun organizing of the books like pre loved, and lots of cute gift items. Plus a cat with its own hours! Kathy was super friendly and helpful. Made the whole experience better and is a genuine person. They do have a game room and a snack bar with free water as well as a keuring and snacks for sale. The bathroom is for everyone and they are very welcoming. Of course as an independent bookstore they have a wide variety of titles with some new books thrown in. They do mystery sells and bundles where you get a vague description of a book that is covered up and you take a chance. It should go without saying but as you are supporting local businesses the prices are a little higher the HPB or Amazon but it means more here and you should buy local when you can. I highly recommend this place. They even have a section where if you spend $50 you get to choose a free gift from books to sunglasses to other items. Go in, say hi to Kathy and The Cat!

I will start with the "downsides" (as few as they are). This place is pretty small. Like smaller than I thought. Because of this, its not the greatest place for browsing. They had some "witch" stuff which was interesting, but I was looking for a book. Also, most of the books are used which isn't terrible, but not exactly clear. As for the positives, this place is a true small business so you really get the personal touch when it comes to service. I also picked this place because it did a "blind book" service where they will pick out a book or two for you based on your description. A bunch of bookstores do this, but the Book Burrow understood the assignment exactly. They got me THREE books and all of them were PERFECT. I was surprised how they found my vibe and found me unique books! They also wrapped it in a beautiful paper and addressed it to me! It was like a little birthday gift to myself! As you can tell, I was very floored by the selections. This is the small business of small businesses so I am so HAPPY that I was able to stop by! While the place is small and their selection is in flux, I really appreciated the personal touch from the staff at The Book Burrow.

There are plenty of places for you to take a seat and relax, try out your new potential book or wait for others in your party to shop. If you want/need information or have questions they are more than happy to help and love to have conversations about books with you. I love the creak of the floorboards while walking around and it is always a comfortable, cool temperature. There is also a selection of fun smaller items in store to purchase like posters, puzzles, DVDs, VHS tapes, postcards, and trinkets. They also hold events like a book club, workshop events like embroidery, and host authors for book discussions. I was not expecting this store to be so awesome. They have things from 60s 70s 80s 90s etc. They had Rockem-Sockem Robots! They had care bears, they had Dr. Seuss books, they had OG trolls (I got three of these!). They had pinball machines. They had slinky. They had the magic eight ball. They just had too many things for me to mention, and all of them were amazing! I wish I had known about this store last Christmas-- Good thing there's next Christmas :) Their prices are quite affordable. The little trolls were a 1.50. The Dr. Seuss book was $9.99. The care Bear was $13. They have so many wonderful product products and they are displayed beautifully. It's a fun place just to walk around and look! I highly recommend you visit. The service was really good by the way. The sales clerk allowed us to walk-through and didn't pester us. However, when I asked her about things, she was very enthusiastic and she knew about the products. I appreciated that. I highly recommend you visit!

There is a wide variety of eclectic toys, games, knickknacks, etc. they have several tables where you can explore/play with some of the toys and items they have for sale. This makes it especially fun for kids to have a hands on approach- not like department stores where everything is packaged and shelved. I do believe some items are a bit pricey but that's to be expected from a stand alone toy store. We did purchase two 3-D printed toys. I was hoping to get some more exciting items, but my son has taken a liking to these 3D creatures. They were $17 each, higher than when I've paid most times, but also fairly acceptable in price. The employee working made some small talk, but she wasn't entirely personable. I feel that businesses geared mainly to our children should have employees with bright and bubbly personalities. I understand that's not always a possibility, but I do feel it makes the whole experience better for everybody. The only true con to our experience was that the story reeked of cat urine. They did have the doors open with a fan blowing out, so maybe they're aware and trying to get rid of it, I'm not sure. But it wasn't a pleasant smell at all. With all that being said, we will be back. I've made note of things we plan to buy in the future lol.
