Ahhh Papas & Beer, the place you come when you turn 18 to get drunk with your friends, well that's we did in the 90's early 2000's. And people still do & man is it different. We recently came with my daughter, she wanted her parents to take her & her friends for her first time. Not only to feel safer but to have her first LEGAL bought drink with her parents, which was cool until I saw how much I spend, she's smart. First thing, do not come before 9pm, ain't nothing going on, come closer to 10 that's when the drinking & some fun starts. Customer service is real good here. Did we have fun, yes, but it's not as fun as it was back in the day. First you'll notice the drinks are really water down especially the tequila when they turn you upside down, which is pricey & $15 for a shot & spin. Still got to do it tho it's fun but be firm & tell them no after one time because they will aggressively do it again & want the money. The food is ok & most drinks were ok. The DJ was good tho but hardly no one dance, most these people were just on their phone, that's sad. I think it's mainly because many were not drunk or buzz enough to get loose & dance because the drinks are water down. The vibe is still good tho & can be fun if you going with a group of friends. Just becareful going into the restrooms I was offered drugs/pills twice, of course I said said no politely & moved on with my life. The night life is not as fun & live as it use to be but during the day in the spring & summer it's pretty cool & more of a good vibe & safer in my opinion. Everyone should still come to Papas & Beer at least once in their life's at night & during the day, it's an experience. Overall it was cool & we had fun with my daughter, next time we'll come day drinking on the beach section during the summer, till than see you soon Papas & get some extra security in those restrooms, Salud :)
This is a must visit venue during your trip to Baja. It's convenient location is close to many other bars and restaurants. Highly recommend you to order their piña coladas! The service is quick and friendly. They accept all forms of payment but pesos is recommended. Ambiance is upscale beach casual and amazing for big groups.
This is our first time coming to Papas and Beer to party. We got the weekend pass which was 85 and it came with an open bar from 1-2pm on Saturday. It was fun. We also got food separately, the prices fair and the food is decent. The service was pretty fast. The ambience is fun, it's right infront of the beach so it's a beautiful view.
Not everything is bad about the place. The atmosphere is very good. The food is very bad, and the portions are very small and cold. The good things are the drinks and the waiters. The cocktails are very tasty, fresh, and have natural fruit flavors. Although the food was bad, the waiter Jose was very attentive to everything. I recommend Edgar Cantina for cocktails. The horrible thing is what several waiters at the club said: they don't receive weekly pay, hence the service charge. It's a shame that the waiters don't get paid for the good service they provide. The waiters and bartenders are very good. The place is very bad for not paying their employees.
It's Monday at 2 PM. Entire restaurant to myself. --Watching college games. --Perfect weather --Enjoying the famous fries. Which is really the way all fries should be prepared. Fresh potatoes with a good seasoning blend. Ranch is terrible. Stick with ketchup. --Mixed drinks taste good and are pretty. Save the calories. Shots are a better run for your pesos. -- Stopped here because I'm supposed to --Cool vibes.
This place is huge. Their indoor dining area, furthest away from the beach is very spacious, and if you make your way to the back (closer to the beach) they have a very big outdoor patio, and they also have tables on the sand beachside. We attempted to sit outside but no one ever approached us to take our order, it was getting chilly so we went back to their indoor dining room and quickly got seated. The service got better from there, but they were still kind of slow. We ordered their ceviche, carne Asada fries and aguachiles. Everything was very delicious and we left full. The carne Asada fries came out hot, but didn't pair well with our seafood. The aguachiles had a nice kick to them and the ceviche tasted fresh. Overall the food was better than expected, and the service could definitely use some improvement. I'm not sure if come back next time in town, perhaps maybe to check out the club scene, but honestly I'm getting way too old for all of that.
Papa's & Beer has sure changed over the years..... this place goes on for at least 4 blocks... used to be this little place where every one squeezed in.... The dance floor back then was so sticky from beer & other things......Your shoes stuck to the floor.... Anyway, this big New building is huge & really very nice.... There were 4 different building on 4 different corners that said Papa's & Beer then behind the new building was this beautiful outdoor area on the beach...... Music playing, bar help is on duty, but no spring breakers.... The staff was helpful..
I can't believe how huge this place has gotten. I've been coming here for almost 2 decades, though partying here on spring break in college is not remotely the same as bringing the kids and having a beer in the sand. They used to have all you can drink deals for a reasonable price (if you can stomach the standard beers and well drinks - but what young person can't?), not sure if they still do that. Most recently, we came here, grabbed a table in the sand, and enjoyed several beers at dusk, until the sun started to set into a beautiful purple and orange horizon. Vendors do come pretty frequently to try to sell stuff, but that might not be a bad thing - I ended up getting my hair braided. Happy to see the mechanical bull is still alive and well. Didn't think when I was 18 and stumbling around the bathrooms with a Tecate in hand that one day I'd be walking into that same bathroom with my 4 YO one day, but... it's the circle of life.

Who hasn't been to Papas and beer! I used to frequent this place back in the 90s the one in Rosarito, and the one in Ensenada. It was definitely the place to party! I haven't been to the one in Rosarito for over 20 years, and it looks the same mind you, We went early morning on an excursion from our Cruise. But exceptional service. Great Micheladas. It was really nice to chill on the patio, looking at the water. read more

Papas n Beer is a hybrid establishment, meaning they are open during the day and function as a restaurant, and at night they have artists throwing events. They are well known for Baja beach fest, spring break kick offs, etc. it is the heart of the party life on the Rosarito strip. It can get crowded because it is not that huge inside, they close down the pool section at night so again, it gets pretty packed. We visited this past Saturday because we wanted to see Cloonee, a DJ artist and I must say he kicked off and set the bar off for first weekend spring break!! What an amazing experience on the beach. Had this really delicious pina colda drink and some great carne asada fries Our server was really friendly and Oscar the bar manager even pulled up randomly to ask out about the drinks and how our experience could be better but it was already good. Just made the experience and service really good The ambiance was chill with the sunset and beach and everyone was having fun. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to enjoy their time on the beach. read more
I Remember this place back in the day so much better!! Now it's overpriced and no alcohol in the drinks. Just a tourist trap. We ordered: Mango Margarita- it was just an overpriced slushee Fries- soggy and undercooked Margarita- they try to upsell the alcohol but it wasn't very good So disappointed I won't ever go back. read more

Papas and Beer hosted a boxing event that my daughters team attended. I was here for a few days in a row and for several hours each time. The venue itself is pretty nice and located right on the beach of Rosarito with awesome views When you walk in, staff take your temperature, make you sanitize your hands and shoes. There was no cover charge YAYY!!! Makes sense since you will be spending money eating and or drinking. Papas and beer does charge for parking $100 pesos=$4.33 US dollars The boxing ring was located on the beach. Staff were friendly and very efficient. I did enjoy myself and had a good time watching all of the fighters. There was one issue however, the light in the bathroom that the fighters were assigned to use did not work!!!! read more

Gerardo is so fun! I brought my little family in a for a few hours of good food and music and Papas and Beer did not disappoint! From the start everyone was extremely attentive and polite. Would definitely recommend. And having a child here is not bad at all, things were so smooth, they even brought him a ball to play with. read more

It's a huge place with lots of room to dance and to sit. I was a little disappointed with the price and the prices are really high. The drinks are good but I recommend not drinking too much because you'll be very surprised when the bill comes. The thing that makes this place amazing is a customer service as soon as you arrive there's people that are who are ready to serve your party and you. They walk you to the table they tell you where to park so that is the great part about this place that they guide you they make you feel welcome which makes you feel that the price is worth it. read more
Stopped by here just because it's Papa's and Beers. Haven't been to this particular one in probably 15+ years; my how it's grown. This place is 4 times larger! They've encroached on the beach and have tables in the sand, volleyball and a pool. When we were sitting in the bar, they were showing videos of spring break. No thank you, way too crazy even if I was 21. Total tourist place, pricing is equivalent to a LA bar. I would say go at least one time, buy a T-shirt and a couple of shot glasses to remember it by then go somewhere else for the rest of your drinks. read more
