I travel to St. Joseph for work at least three times a year and I come here every single time. Have…read morebeen doing it for years. After today I won't be coming back. My work colleagues and I got sat and were informed of a long wait as there was only one server - cool. No problem. It happens. We are sitting about 20 minutes when a table of 8 gets sat next to us. The cook immediately came from behind the counter to bring water for them. We were still sitting there with nothing. Our server came over - apologized and got our orders and brought out our drinks. Our salads came out and all was well. Then we waited and waited. We were informed that one of the potato pizzas we ordered couldn't be made because they were out of potatoes. No big deal. We changed the order. Then the group next us - who came in 20 minutes after us and ordered after us all got served their pizzas(including a few potato pizzas). While we waited and was not served. Finally realizing that our diverse group of 5 was being shafted for the very non-diverse group of 8 we asked for our pizzas to go and we left. So if the intention of Il Lazzarone was to make us feel sidelined and "othered" - congratulations. Job well done. Because we left there being reminded of just how how bigotry feels. The pizzas was still great in my hotel room. But you will never see a recommendation from me or dime of my money again.

We were driving through St Joe and the request from the back seat was for pizza for lunch. I…read moresearched reviews and we decided to give Il Lazzarone in downtown a try. It wasn't far at all from I-29 and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Courtney upon entering the business, quickly and thoughtfully seated in a quiet corner away from the potential drafts of the front door as it was cold outside. Her suggestions were spot on and we had the Ceaser Salad and Bruschetta to start. Healthy portions and fresh ingredients for sure. Then we had two pizzas and it was perfect considering we had a couple of big eaters and we were hungry. Prices are fair and reasonable for the quality and quantity. Plenty of parking off street, nice people, clean and hospitable. I highly recommend Il Lazzarone and we will be back the next time in the area.

my last review mentioned that the next time i would be in town would head over to the truck…read more thought he would not be open, but surprise to see he was. my friend, lost Linda (chuck will know) called and he said what time he would be ready for us to pick up the pizza. we went by a bit early and had a nice chat while we were there. the pizza was everything i was told about--the crust is a bit softer than what you would think, but it is damn good. his sauce is sweet and spicy at the same time--fantastic balance between the two. and we just got a plain sausage--and i am impressed with the amount of sausage on the pizza--no skimping on it--thank you. it is a pleasure to go get dinner, and have a nice time in doing it--Chuck, we definitely will be back.

Just walk around back on the driveway and you'll find the food truck. Ring the triangle if he's busy cooking. Check this pizza food truck out on FB for more details. We messaged him and ordered ahead of time as it does take 25 minutes for the pizza to be prepared to order and cooked. It's good pizza with loads of cheese! I love the sweet and tasty sauce that has just a hint of spice. We got our thin crust pizza with all the meats. The meat made my hubby happy. The cheese made me happy. The crust and sauce made us both happy. Support small, local businesses!

Well we weren't sure what to expect. Not a big parking lot and the building was a little run down…read more Not too busy either for a Friday evening. Hours are like 4-8 pm Tuesday through Saturday. This is family owned and has been around for about 50 years. The inside is like a flash back to the early 90s decor. A ton of Knick Knacks hanging everywhere. MS Pac-Man and hardly and not the tables seemed the same. The place was spotless clean. All this stuff hanging up and not a speck of dust. Now to the food. I guess it's known for its thin cracker crust. We tried the royal supreme. Large was $15. I am so disappointed this was my first time here. This pizza was fabulous. Even though this pizza was loaded with meats, veggies and cheese it didn't flop. Every bite there was an audible crunch. It immediately ties in top three pizza in town. Right up there with ilazzorne and Pizza Tassio. Very nice owner. It was sad to see that it wasn't busy on a Friday and on the way home we passed Pizza Hut and it was packed. Just ridiculous. Pizza Hut freaking sucks compared to a place like this. Please try this out for at least carry out. You won't be disappointed. Support local.
