For a take-and-bake pizza place, there is actually good potential for 5 stars. The owners and/or manager need to hire better staff; with good staff, I would've given them 5 stars both times I've been there.
I'm from the DC area and had never heard of a take-and-bake pizza place, but I was intrigued and heard good things about Papa Murphy's. The first time I went, about 2 months ago, it was about 4:30 on a weekday. There were about 4 customers in line to order, and 4 teenage boys working there. One boy looked miserable, like he'd rather be anywhere but there. Poor service and bad attitude. The other 3 boys were laughing and joking and messing around with each other. Glad they were having fun, but it was a bit much. The food station area was a disaster; no time to keep it neat when they're singing at the top of their lungs! Ha!
I loved the pizza, though!
I went back yesterday to try the $10 for any large special Tuesday deal. This time, there was just one employee working. A long line of customers, and he was the only staff there was - order taker, cashier, ingredient getter, dough former, topping adder, wrapper, etc. No smile, no effort to move any quicker on his part to get customers taken care of more quickly. In fact, customers left because the service was so slow.
I hope they can hire friendly, attentive staff; in combination with the outstanding pizzas they make, would definately earn 5-stars in my book. The staff is the only negative.
I definately recommend the pizza; however, be prepared for a long wait and unfriendly service. read more
