It was busy…read moreon a Sunday morning, we waited a good 30-40 minutes, but it was well worth the wait and once we were sat the food came out impressively fast! My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

We came in on an unseasonably chilly May morning nursing a bit of a hangover. Krankies was delightfully warm with plenty of seating. I got the Hangover Cure biscuit, which had eggs, fried chicken, bacon, cheese, and gravy on the side. I also got a hot latte and then topped it off with a cinnamon roll. My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Definitely worth the add. All in all, I think we spent $40, which feels reasonable for the amount and quality of food we received. Definitely worth a stop in if you happen to be in the area.

It's a cool spot with good people. The food was pretty hit or miss. The loaded tots seemed interesting, but really...the just end up a little greasy and kind of unnecessary. Overall flavor is mudled and you don't really get anything by throwing duck on tots. I was hoping it would be one of those dishes that just magically work and are fantastic...but eh, kind of a let down. We also shared a bunch of other dishes. The pimento cheese sandwich was tasty but really hard to eat (the cheese pours out of it). We had their pasta, the duck sandwich (again. It was ok. Not great) the grain bowls seemed enjoyable, etc. We also got some desserts to share. The bourbon bread pudding again, was a pretty big let down. There was generally nothing bourbon about it. The chocolate tart was ok. The food wasn't bad, it just felt like some key items that they seemed to use to elevate their menu as a whole were just misses. But there are absolutely some solid dishes on the menu. The price is also a little high for what you get.

I had the dark meat fried chicken with collard greens, a fresh side salad, and mac & cheese that was honestly unforgettable. The chicken was fried to perfection -- crispy, crunchy skin that stayed put and juicy meat inside. The collards were seasoned just right, the salad was super fresh, and yes, the ranch passed the Midwest test. The mac & cheese was the real standout -- that perfect mix of creamy and baked that makes you want to order a second serving. On top of the food, the service was impeccable -- attentive without being pushy, and they never let an empty plate linger on the table. The whole experience felt elevated and stylish while still keeping the food soulful and comforting. If you love soul food (or even if you're just curious), you have to try this spot.

I passed on the food (it seemed overpriced), but the coffee left no room for complaint. I went with a marshmallow iced latte. Did a quick yelp search, and found Camino wasn't too far from where we were. We walked over and found it clustered in a nice area with several restaurants we've visited in the past. There was a short line, and only one person taking/making orders behind the counter. I couldn't figure out what the other two were doing, but he was able to keep the line moving fairly fast. We ordered a slice of quiche and a Danish to share. We asked for the quiche to have to have there, and the Danish to go, so asked to have it heated. They said they couldn't heat any food, but pointed us in to the microwave in the dining area which was a bit odd to me. Otherwise, the food was tasty. They've got a good bit of a seating inside with a laid back, relaxed feel. They've got some art on the walls, assuming from local artists for sale. They also have a small patio out front on the sidewalk. We did need to use the bathroom before leaving, which are locked, and you need to ask the staff for code to use them, which isn't something we're used to.
