Updating my review from a year ago. Uptown Charlie's has gone from a 4 to a solid 5 stars. We took…read morethe family and a few of our kids' friends for dinner, and the food was noticeably better all the way around. The mozzarella sticks were hot, crispy, and perfectly melty. My triple-decker BLT was huge! Great proportions and plenty of juicy bacon, with a tasty side of well seasoned onion rings. My wife's chicken tostada came in a fried, crispy and fluffy tostada shell that was light and delicious. All of the kids loved sharing the tenders, boom boom shrimp, wings, and cheese curds. Everyone found something they liked -- the menu has a good mix for both kids and adults. The atmosphere is laid-back, with TVs on every wall showing just about any game you'd want. Our server was spot on, friendly and attentive. She was in the middle of training a new staff member who shadowed her the whole night, and she didn't skip a beat. It's a great local spot just minutes from home, and now with even better food. We will definitely be back!

However, they have changed up some of their specials like they no longer…read morelet you order just five wings, you have to get ten, and now their children's menu only comes with three wings, not four. I don't approve of these changes. And unfortunately, my Thursday wingstop will probably change to somewhere else. Because I just can't eat ten and I don't like to warm them back up. The staff is still awesome. It's just more of a personal opinion and also, what fits in the budget. If I did this every thursday, I'd be spending twenty dollars more a month for food that i'm not gonna eat. I'm a strong believer in half portions!

I was first introduced to their food when they ran the grill inside the Gillespie Park golf course, which is where they get their name. This is one of those courses I learned to play on, and I knew after my round I could always get something delicious to eat. Whether that was a sandwich, hot dogs, or one of their specialty fish frys (NOT to be missed!), I was never let down and the price was always fair. These days, they operate out of the City Kitch, which has a really good central location in Greensboro. They are take-out only, but you can enjoy your food during certain hours in the dining room at TCK, it will still be packaged to go. No pictures at the moment because I need to get some new shots of their food being served up through TCK, but I wanted to share my appreciation for them that started a long time ago! Best fish-fry in Greensboro, don't miss out on their Sunday "church plates" either!

I've never gotten anything that wasn't flavored or his twist put on it that wasn't delicious. The Gillespie Grill is located at the Gillespie Gold Course tucked away off Florida Street. The catfish was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside...dangerously snackable. The wings were very very good. Full of flavor and no sauce needed. The service was friendly but did take about double the time to cook as what was shared. Casual vibe. Will come back and try another fried fish option. Maybe the lengthy wait was an exception.

The place overall seemed clean and bright but there were a couple tables that looked like needed to be wiped off. Everything on the menu looked pretty good. I decided to give the catfish nuggets a try with a side of Mac and cheese and collard greens. The nuggets were a lot better than I was expecting. The fish was so flaky and the breading was the perfect about of crispiness. The collard greens were cooked well but were a little bland. Wish it also included a protein or something in it. The mac and cheese tasted a lot better than it looked. It was wasn't great but it was kind of what you'd expect of a fast casual spot. I really liked all the lemonade flavors they had. All of them were pretty good and I definitely recommend trying them out if you're not afraid of a little sugar.

Regardless of whether it's dine in or take away, the quality, quantity, and presentation are the same. I could describe in detail, several of my favorites, but I'll keep it "short". The Bianca flatbread and the Caesar side salad are TO LIVE FOR! I say that because once you taste it, you'll want to live... just so you can taste it again. I'm notorious for customizing my orders at restaurants, BUT THIS!? No modifications necessary! I've eaten pizza in Italy and this flatbread could easily earn a place on those menus. The balanced flavor profile was thoughtfully composed and well executed with the creamy sweetness of the ricotta, the earthiness of the spinach, the added pepperiness of the red onions, and the umami brought by the roasted tomatoes. All blanketed by layers of melted mozzarella and drizzled with a rich balsamic glaze! Pair that with their HUGE Caesar side salad and you have a well balanced and filling meal. One final thought before I step down from my soap box: I don't know whether it was intentional, but in numerology the number 6 symbolizes harmony, stability, community, and nurturing. Fittingly, that's exactly what Sixty Six Grill has created. A place where consistently excellent food and welcoming hospitality bring people together.
