They've never made a mistake on our order, which always includes specially ordered kids' meals for the grandbabies. The kids' meals come with a free custard, and there are plenty of opportunities for adults to earn free custard, along with separate rewards programs--one for kids and one for adults. Their codfish is excellent and remains crispy even when ordered to go, a quality that applies to all their fried foods. The butterfly shrimp are consistently delicious. They also offer made-to-order butterburgers and pub burgers with a variety of toppings. Among fast food burger joints, Culver's is the most accommodating, providing a wide range of food options for those who don't want a burger. They offer grilled and fried chicken breast, Reuben sandwiches, soups, seafood, salads, broccoli, corn dogs, chili, cheese, fries, pretzel bites with cheddar sauce, onion rings, and Wisconsin cheese bites--there are just too many choices to name, and they're all delicious! And don't get me started on the custard options! There's always a special of the day with extra toppings included for free. Kids' meals come with their choice of flavor plus one topping--even if they choose the special of the day, they can still add one topping! Stopped by Culver's to take advantage of their BOGO coupons and ended up getting a great deal. I ordered an Oreo shake and a chicken sandwich that made a perfect Sunday meal and treat. The Oreo shake was good but a medium size was much larger than expected. It had a thick, rich texture that was more like a Blizzard than a traditional milkshake. The three stars are only for this visit. The service as usual is good. The place was a bit on the untidy side but it was dinner hour. Let's start by saying the butter burgers are delicious. But this trip we wanted to try the Walleye fish dinner. Not a fan. The fish fillet is too thin to carry the amount of batter it's fried in. Recently I made my first visit to a Culver's location right here on the edges of Kernersville. It was a late dinner for me, and the restaurant wasn't exactly the neatest at that hour, but staff members were polite and prompt. And that double butter burger hit the spot. Honestly, for a fast food chain it was one of the better burgers I've had in a really long time. The fries weren't bad either, but I think I'll try the cheese curds next time. My 1st time at this Culver's location & it won't be my last! One thing that's very important to me is a nice outside dining area and there certainly is a very nice one here! A Culver's near Greensboro? Sign me up! Although it wasn't as tidy as other locations, it's about as good as it gets for proximity. Their butterburger delivered as always. Straight double with cheese, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. The fried cheese curds were spot on. What stole the show was the Oreo milk shake which I enjoyed as a dessert afterwards. What takes from the overall experience was that it was a bit messy, napkins missing, no ketchup or ice at the self serve stations. We met at about 5:00 pm and I was surprised at the crowd. But the service was fast and good. And the Cheeseburger was excellent. Smash Burgers have joined the growing list of culinary "innovations" that are being hyped to cult status, by the mindless media and the "if it is new I'm all for it" crowd! The smash burger, in one form or another, has been around for at least decades. In North Carolina for example, Johnson's Grill in Siler City has been smashing them perfectly since 1946! Some take the position earliest version of the thinner-is-better burger was actually the original White Castle in the mid 1920's - but most likely there was something even before that. This burger chain was founded in Wisconsin in 1984 and has grown to over 1,000 locations, mostly in the Mid-West and along the East Coast, much like Freddy's! Also like Freddy's, they offer frozen custard, house made chili, a handful of sides, and a few sandwiches (chicken, several fish) as well as their almost famous ButterBurgers - which is a form of smash burger when properly cooked - at some locations it is, and at some, it definitely is not - count the Winston location as NOT! This location is very new, bright and clean with a well trained staff. There is no table service but my order was brought to where I was seated - nice. This was a very, very nice burger, but still a bit short of what I identify as a smash burger - bit short of the crusty texture. I find that the chain burger with the best, most consistent outside crust is served at Freddy's - 2 locations in Greensboro. Still a fan! Not much more to add to my last review other than that I've been working my way through the menu, and while the patty melt remains my favorite item, do not sleep on their fish sandwiches for something different! You wouldn't think a Wisconsin based chain would know diddly about seafood, but turns out, it's good. Nice crispy filet, tender and flaky, bigger than the bun of course. Culver's is usually my go to when I want some interesting sides or a variety of stuff. Cheese curds just hit the spot everytime. I think I still slightly prefer Dairi-O overall, that's usually the internal battle I have when deciding where to go in this area. The concretes keep me coming back when I want a sweet treat. I've seen a few of my co workers eat culver's and they always rave about it so I checked out their menu and was delighted to see they had a veggie burger! It was a pretty solid veggie burger, I wish it was cooked a little bit more but it wasn't anything you couldn't do at home. This is my favorite Culver's of all the nearby locations. Friendly staff, clean restaurant, quick service and the food delivered on my Culver's desires. I have eaten at this chain in the Midwest and it has a Dario like following. Locations locally took a little while to get up to the Culver's promise but this location delivers. A little off the beaten path but worth it. I had a scoop of the custard too. $12 for lunch with soda and icecream is a good deal these days when the food is so consistent and good. GET THE CHEESE CURDS!!! This Culver's just opened in the area but I've been to several others in other states. My go to item is the cheese curds (at least 2 different cheese type deep fried and squeaky delicious) and usually just those, but since this location is new and it was dinner time I decided to try a whole meal. I went inside and to be honest my eyes were overwhelmed with how bright the menu was which made it hard to really read and figure out what I wanted (I just came from the dark outside so that could have played a role in the brightness). Because of this I got a value basket and a butter burger with cheese. It was not clear to me that the butter burger with cheese just comes plain and that adding certain sides (like a tomato) cost extra. Looking back I probably would have ordered the deluxe butterburger to save all the extra fees with add ons. The burger in my opinion was just ok (I added ketchup at home), with super thin patties. My husband got the chicken fingers and those were just ok as well (and learning from other reviews online that it is recommended to ask them to cook them harder/1 minute longer). We also got their flavor of the day (volcano, think chocolate fudge & chocolate candy) as a shake which was really good! Booths, tables and high top seating are available. Order at the counter, take a number and they bring you your food. Wow! I am so happy this Culver's is finally up and running in Kernersville! It's right on the way to the highway from my besties house, which is a good idea until it isn't anymore lol. Because y'all- this burger and fries combo was goooooood. The burger was loaded up with cheese, grilled onions, pickles, Mayo, ketchup and mustard. With the I-40 highway connection construction underway, I've watched the area grow with new residential and commercial business. One of which is this Culver's which JUST opened. Living in the area, I got really tired of only having a limited option of fast food chains so I decided to try a different flavor of it for lunch today. I was met with a large menu of different types of burgers from the Mushroom and Swiss (my husband's order), Atlantic Cod (mine) and the Beef Pot Roast that I ordered to feed to my baby and toddler. I figured it would be easy enough to chew. The drive thru was busy but organized. They asked me to pull along side of the building and wait in a labeled parking slot. They stuck a number on my window. I really enjoyed the messaging details throughout its branding. Adds a lot more personalization of you ask me. Speaking of messages, peep the packaging. As I was taking a pic of my cod, it literally says to take a pic, it'll last longer! This was a very fluffy and generous cut. Really enjoyed it! And the fam enjoyed their orders as well. I had to try a Culver's, I'd heard good things. Before going I looked local stores up on Yelp to select the most highly rated one in my area. To be fair the food was about what I expected, but the dining room experience is what killed it for me. The booth I sat in was so stinky (old grease and cleaning agents) that I had to move. If Freddy's and Chick-fil-A had a baby, it would be Culver's. It is a wonderful combination of good food and friendly service which is hard to come by these days. The burgers have fresh beef that is delicious. They have crinkle cut fries that are always hot and crispy. The custard is sublime. My wife loved the chocolate, but the cashew caramel sundae is my favorite. You get the salty of the whole cashews with the sweetness of the caramel. It is tough to beat. Every employee I encountered was friendly. The only problem i have ever had was on my second visit. I ordered the patty melt that they call a Wisconsin melt I think. I was craving a simple smash burger and was recommended I give Culver's a try. It is great place to grab a simple but tasty burger. Toppings are all very basic, but they give you just enough items to load up your burger if you are into a very messy one! The fries were perfectly made--soft inside, crispy outside. We were tempted by the ice cream of the day, which was chocolate Reese's cups, so we just had to try it :-) The restaurant is very new, so very clean and organized. A member of their staff walked around to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal and offering to give them refills or collect their trash. The service was excellent. My only complaint was the size and portion of my lunch was a little on the small side. I could have used a few more bites of both the burger and fries. Other than the slightly smaller portions (in comparison with other similar burger chains), I would definitely recommend giving Culver's a try! read more
