I'm not going to give 4-stars to a chain restaurant, just because of my principles, but this place hasn't done me wrong for about a year and a half. I routinely visit my friends and godson, and we've gotten into the habit of ordering pizza, eating, putting the little one to bed, and then gaming (SC, high five)! While none of the group are die-hard pizza fans or have some overbearing loyalty to some pizza chain, our happy medium always ended up being papa john's (someone doesn't like the crust at ___, another doesn't like the toppings at ____). This location delivers pizza that is tasty and consistent. The delivery guy usually arrives sooner than we expect as well, and no matter who delivers, they have always been pleasant and gracious when accepting a tip. read more

I always order ahead, still got me waiting for 30-40 minutes every time i order here. pizzas cold too.

The pizza was cold again. Most of the toppings were on the right side of the pizza. Cut into 6 slices instead of 8. read more

Pizza from here is never cut. Must be using a butter knife. Also, a little light on the cheese which causes there to be bubbles in the pizza. Outside of that it's good. read more

Seems they don't know there shapes. I've orders countless times squared cut pizza and it seems like they just can't comprehend they are able to get the label on the box but I guess can't read read more

The worst fucking place ever! I will never purchase pizza from this location again. Very rude and unprofessional

We enjoyed the pizza and appreciated their prompt delivery on a rainy night. The menu choices are many, but my wife enjoys their thin crust and I enjoy their Italian sausage. The garlic sauce makes it special. We ordered a large pizza with different toppings on each half. We appreciated their making the 2 halves equal without an overlap of ingredients. I like my pizza cheese lightly browned, and they have an option to order a pizza well done, which is perfect. They also allow you to order a square cut pizza versus the standard pie cuts. read more

I ordered a pizza for pickup and paid with the app. The store is open, but they have locked the door and won't give me my pizza.

Disappointed is under statement. If I was able to give 0 stars I would. Male cashier worked with food, touched apron, and handled money with the same gloves on! When confronted, he proceeded to say " Do you want the pizza or not. You can get out of here and don't come back!" This is not how you treat customers, morals and ethics need to be evaluated real quick! read more

I enjoyed my first piece of pizza but noticed the next two pieces had extra toppings on it I didn't order - human hair!! or wig hair. can't tell the diff but it was hair nonetheless. spent $70 for delivery of two pizzas and one went in the trash after I saw the hair ( which I had to pull out of my mouth) read more

I ordered a pizza using the mobile app. I have multiple addresses in my profile. The driver delivered to the wrong address. I drove to the store to have them correct the problem. After showing the store manager the receipt proving they delivered to the wrong address - Jen hesitated to fix it. Then she made a negative comment because the address they delivered to accepted the pizza thinking I was on my way home. So I'm inconvenience and wasting gas after paying a delivery fee and tip. I'll be having a conversation with Discover card in the morning why pay for something I did not get! read more

Ordered delivery and Issa wasn't good, dough tasted old and veggies were raw, on top on the cooked pizza. Called and voiced concern to manager (Kelly) whom argued back and forth with me and basically called me a liar about veggies not being cooked. Hung up on my face and said to call another manager to get a credit. Called today and spoke with manager (Ty) whom said that nobody name Kelly works there. Driver was rude! Food came and it had no dips. The Philly steak and cheese Papa dear I had no steak when it was supposed to have steak mushrooms and extra cheese. That too also didn't have a dip. Then my order of jalapeño poppers was extremely cold hard and also did not come with the ranch dip it was supposed to. The cinnamon dessert was hard dry and cold when I got here as well. When I called the store Back they were extremely rude and the manager Keith was talking loud in the background instead it was gonna be about an hour and a half to two hours before my delivery would even be back here. I offered to come up to the store and he hung up in my face. I do not recommend anybody order from here and I want my money back I do not want the food read more

Papa Johns Pizza - two boxes of pizza and a cell phone - Pizza Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

I normally go the Domino's route but figured i'd switch up today and give Papa John's a go. I placed an order online today at 12:52pm for my local store (#3871, E Laburnum). As of writing this review at 3:03pm my order hasn't arrived. I've called the store now 5 or so times after being hung up on or placed on infinite hold where no one comes back on the line. After finally getting someone on the line they were unable to confirm they canceled my order nor give me any type of confirmation code, name, etc. to fall back on when the charge still shows up. Save yourself the hassle and DO NOT order from this location. I should have checked reviews first and seen that this is the norm at this location. (Funny enough I ordered Domino's about 20mins ago and as I'm about to post this review I'm looking a delicious, hot pizza from DOMINOS). read more

Unfortunately, I prefer Papa Johns to other pizza chain options or I would absolutely never order from here again. One day I ordered at 1PM and at 2:25PM I had still not received the pizza. I called the store and they told me that they were about to text me because their phones can't call out to non-local numbers. She indicated that it would be at least another 30 minutes before she had a driver to take the order out. I cancelled the order. Almost two months later, I really wanted Papa Johns again. I ordered and the email receipt said 30-40 minutes. After an hour and 10 minutes, I called the store. They said my order was on the way to me. When I told the woman about the email receipt time she got very defensive about how if I had called they would have been quoting me 2-2.5 hours and said the email system does not update based on the actual estimated time. Which I know is either wrong or the store would have to manually change the time because I have gotten emails before with time ranges that are 55-65 minutes. This store is so slow to deliver and there is absolutely no way they have the same delivery volume as other stores in the area. They need to figure out how to properly staff this store for their need because this is totally unique to this store. Never had any issue with other Papa Johns. read more

Worst case of fast food!! Poor customer service and the delivery service is poor too. Order on line at 7:20pm didn't get my order until 9:42pm pizza arrived wrong and cold. This is absolutely the worse Papa Johns I have ever encountered! Ordered a Parmesan Crusted Papadia and it was horrible. No Parmesan on the crust and the papadia was cold and looked sloppy and thrown together. I called to speak to a manager and was put on hold for 15 minutes!! I am convinced that the people who work there are incompetent at this point. How hard is it to follow an order and make it correctly?? It's Pizza for Christ sake! Definitely need new management! Worst pizza place ever. Papa John's is good but this location have to worst customer service ever. I mobile order it say 30-45mins. Recently moved to Richmond and this is the closest pizza spot. Ordered delivery three times now. Delivery time is great but quality of the food is not. Im really about convenience which is why i tried them 2 more times but not spending money here anymore. read more

Awful service. Pizza is alright. It's just a craving sometimes. I don't recommend this branch unless you're ordering pickup. The last three times I've ordered, they always forget my extra sauces/packets that I order. May not seem like a big deal but it's extra money and flavor for my food. Also, they need to change up their management. Their customer service is literally 1/5 stars in my opinion. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. Don't ever order from here!! I got my pizza and it had a long hair in it that was in my mouth!! I called to get a refund two separate times and they said they couldn't give me one and I could come to the store to pick another pizza up or get a free pizza. I told them I wanted a refund. I'm gonna have to end up canceling the credit card transaction. Worst place to order from ever seriously. read more

Wanting to relax with pizza and a movie on my boyfriend's birthday, we decided to order pizza from this location. We ordered a large pizza with a 2-Liter Pepsi. To no surprise, they forgot the Pepsi. To make matters worse, when we called them back to just process a refund, THEY DOUBLE CHARGED US. When we called back again about that they said it's protocol to run the card again and then the measley charge of $1.56 will be dropped in 3-5 business days! It makes absolutely no sense and youre screwed either way. Moral of the story: dont order a drink from them or you will either never get it or you'll be double charged just to get $1.56 back. I could give this place 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. Last time ordering from this location ever! read more

I ordered two pizzas online for 24.00 and I used my debit card. The debit took my money but it did not register on their computer. When I went inside the manager informed me that it would take 3-5 business days to put the money back on the card. I was really hurt by this because my children had to eat and I didn't have any money. The manager came to the car and told me that she would give me a pizza and some breadsticks to feed my kids. That was truly a blessing after the toughest week in my life had occurred. My mother passed away and I had just left the funeral home so I was already hurting from this. Thank you to the staff at papa johns for looking out for my children and that is something I will never forget. God bless. read more

I place my order online, the 7-7-7 deal and 16 wings, I ordered it at the start of the football game figured it would be here by the half. When it comes in the middle of the 3rd I take it bring it inside and open to find that it's not my order at all. Wrong pizzas no wings. I try to stop the driver but she's gone. I call the store and am placed on hold for over an hour. This was my first time ordering from this Papa Johns and it will also be my last. I didn't even notice the name on the boxes till I went to call the store. It's ridiculous that I was on hold so long that I had to plug my phone in. And then they say that they are receiving a lot of complaints. This will be my last complaint and the last time I order pizza from here read more

I placed an order in which I was charged 3x for an order.. My bank placed a hold on my account and Charlotte was the manager at the site location and could offer me absolutely nothing....after speaking with another manager "Bob" using the (800) I was informed that I would need to call my bank to disputed the charges I now have no pizza and about $100 of my funds tied up! Very horrible customer service and nothing was offered to me besides that my account would be refunded because they were not orders actually placed, the order was cancelled by Papa Johns and to contact my bank! read more

This was the Most unprofessional pizza place I've ever seen. I ordered a large pizza for delivery. They young man delivered it and when I opened the box, I could clearly see he dropped the pizza. It was so disheveled and messy. I immediately picked up the phone and called the manager to complain. She asked did I want a refund or another pizza. Against my better judgement, I chose a new pizza because I was hungry and I didn't have my car to go out. She said ok but it's gonna be late. I said ok. Well I fell asleep because they took way too long. The next day, I called for my refund and she refused. She said I couldn't receive one because I already got it and it was in the computer that I had received it. I became so irate that I began cursing and flying off the handle because I Know i didn't get it and I was the only one here. So they were lying and I was out of my money and a new pizza. So she states I'm hanging up because you're cursing. I'm like yes I'm cursing because it's not true and I'm clearly upset. So I ended up getting the corporate office information only I couldn't reach Anybody there! So I will Never be ordering from them Ever again! And that's Any Papa John's. read more

Worst delivery service I've ever had with pizza.. took an hour and a half to get here.. forgot my soda. And didn't give me my extra banana peppers I ordered.. I called 2 times. The first "he left around 11:26 (30 minutes) than I called again around 11:45 and I got "there are only two drivers so it's going to take a bit".. pizza didn't even show up until about 12:30. and I called a 3rd to cancel and was on the phone with another pizza place. Was giving him my info when it FINALLY showed up mid conversation. No apologies, no explanation. Just awful service and the people who answer the phone are fucking rude. No customer care. And that is exactly why I support 8$ an hour. It's not a skilled job. It's for high schoolers. Minimal pay for minimal skills. Pizza was cold. And again no soda/banana peppers I ordered.. tomatoes on pizza were dry and ruined. I WILL NEVER order from them again. I would have rather had assantes or chinellos rather than this. They were better quality than this papa johns. (I had the papa johns with a buddy earlier.. the one on main. It was delicious.. IT WAS NOT EVERY PJs. Just this one.) read more

I'm not a fan of Papa John's to begin with but Dominos unfortunately didn't service that area I was in. We ordered pizza and bread a little after 8pm online. We we're told that would be an hour for the pizza show up. We call at 9:15 and they say it's on its way... well 9:45 rolls around and it still hasn't been delivered. we call and get it told again it's on it's way. I ask if they send out 10 orders at a time and delivered cold pizza their customers. I also said that I was not going to pay for cold pizza especially when I ordered it awhile ago. It doesn't take that long to cook and drive two minutes down the road. She then handed the phone to her manager who didn't even announce she was the manager and she told me that my pizza was free in a very rude voice and then hung up on me. It was after 10:30 before we even saw pizza and it was cold... I would rather drive to Dominos and back with hot pizza than order delivery from a rude/slow company and eat cold pizza. If you have the option to have Dominos delivered to you please do yourself a favor and choose them over Papa Johns. read more

After first receiving an undercooked Pizza i spoke to a manager "TEE" and was credited the pizza on my account. I called today to cash in on that credit and reminded the cashier to have a well done pizza.. pizza arrived in about 25 mins to my house i tipped the driver and checked the pizza ..still not cooked throughly. I cooked the Pizza an additional 15 mins in my oven and thought it was fine. I gave some to my daughter and myself. My daughter hasn't ate anything all day other than this pizza.. about an hour after eating it she breaks out in hives and a few hours later i feel like i have food poisoning as i am consistently running to the bathroom. Safe to say i will never order here again and if someone did mess with our food .. karma will come back to them. I have no reason or nothing to gain from posting this other than to warn other people that this place is disgusting and i will never order from here again read more
