HUMAN FAIL I've never ordered or been to a Papa John's. I've only seen the TV commercials. After a long day of driving and going on tours we arrived at our hotel. We were exhausted and saw a Papa John's across the street. I decided to open the website and see what kind of deals they had. They had a special carryout $6 medium one topping pizza. I thought that was a deal worth trying. I opened up the page and built two pizzas. I loved the option for extra sauce and getting the pizza cut in squares. I was really impressed that the sticker on the side of the box had this printed, "Chicago Style" under cut. Nice! After paying with a credit card online, I was given a link to track my pizza process. I thought that was very cool. It went from making to baking immediately. I decided to go over to get the pizzas and before I knew it the page said boxing. Wow that's fast. It also took about 12 minutes for the whole process even though I was quoted over 20 minutes online. Here's my problem. I wish I never had to walk into this location. The staff was huge but no one was helping the customers. I was watching twelve people just walking around like ants. A girl was helping the older lady in front of me. They whole time no one even acknowledged me or the person waiting behind me. The girl at the counter was searching for the ladies order meanwhile the girl at the delivery register finally walked over and quickly said to the lady in front of me, "Are you being helped?" Of course the lady said yes. She then whirled away and avoided any eye contact with me. It was really awkward and rude. All the workers seemed to want no human customer interaction. Even when the bell rang on the door no one even said, "Hello" or "We will be right with you!" or "Can we help you?" Meanwhile the girl finally gave the lady in front of me two pizzas. The old lady informed her she had just paid for four. The girl then left to go hunt for the other two. I was getting frustrated. How could the online process be so smooth and the storefront be so painful? This really worries me and we're all going to get replaced by robots because these kids don't know how to talk to people. Having to wait for my pizza, which I knew was done because of the tracker was really ruining my pizza experience here. Finally the girl gave the lady in front of me her correct amount of pizzas. She then turned away leaving all of us standing at the counter and not helped. They have no idea how to give good customer service here. As I stood there another kid walked up and he was really unhappy to be there. He had been hanging out in the background but didn't even come up to help the people in line. If he had the power to help us then why did he just choose to linger. He then asked my first name and looked the screen. Then he asked my last name and looked at the screen. The pizza security is really tight here. He then printed out a receipt that he wanted me to sign even though I had paid for it online. His sole purpose was trying to get a tip from me. Really? A tip is for exceptional service and that's not happening at this location. I'm still shocked that he expected a tip after practically doing nothing. The sad part is that he didn't even understand what a packet of red pepper flake or a packed of Parmesan cheese was. I literally had to explain it to him. He then did the slow bored walk to the pizza oven and looked around. Then walked to some hidden area around to the right and finally came back with packets. Honestly was this his first day at a pizza place? How do you not know about the packets? I'm still in shock. When I got the pizzas back to the hotel they were still hot. They were good but not amazing. The chef didn't cut the crusts all the way through so we literally had to tear them apart which got messy. Maybe we were the first people to ever order square slices. It was a little annoying. I also selected well done on the pizza. I was hoping the crust would be nice and crisp instead the crust was almost burned and the center crust was still soggy. I'm not sure why pizza places serve soggy centers. I'm thinking this experience would have been four stars if I didn't have to see a single employee inside. I really wish they took pride in their job. I wish the owner was at the front counter greeting customers. The online experience was 5 stars. I could order pizza all day long on there. The pizza tracker was really cool too plus if really worked. The store front experience was negative stars. It took my fun online experience and crushed it. The pizza was good but not award winning. I'd give it 3.5 stars. It's going to fill you up but it isn't going to change your life. I hope that the owners understand that your employees represent your business and that they need to act like they care. First impressions are lasting impressions and I want to forget ever walking in the front door here. read more

Called to let them know my order was wrong and both female managers were not willing to help me. Both were rude and arguentative. The one mgr said she was the highest one there and had been there 10 years the other young woman said she was an assistant mgr. I offered to send pics of my pizzas as proof but was rudly told by the assistant mgr the that she would not give out her cell # to me which I never expected her to do. I was hung up on by the main manager without any help. read more

The guest at the hotel ordered a pizza. Guest calls the front desk and said she ordered pizza from papa john's and when the delivery guy comes please call her at the desk.The delivery guy name Zachary Ballard shows up at the hotel but did not even stop at the front desk to ask where the room was and starts walking in the hotel. Later he starts after walking in downstairs hallways he starts going upstairs to which we stopped him to ask and he started screaming and cursing the front desk staff because the man at the desk said can you please take those napkins from the breakfast area if you didn't bring any. This is very bad customer service from Papa John's . They don't need employee like him who represent the business make us think if employees are rude and cursing out loud at the other business while at job delivering than there's something wrong with the place. I would not let him walk into my hotels next time and already called and informed this to the manager that he is not welcome here for delivery. read more
