Post COVID, they act like there is a Marinara Sauce famine (still) going on. At first it was just a dry tasteless pizza, then when we specifically ordered EXTRA Marinara sauce and got n-o-n-e...well, we just gave up on them. Our pizza and bowls are always hot and ready when we get there for pickup. Toppings are always fresh and tasty, prepared as ordered. And you can see/taste the sauce unlike Domino's where you get sauce stained crust, even when you pay for extra sauce. Papa Johns does NOT charge for extra sauce or cheese. I don't typically put lots of effort into reviews, or give them in general. But I am more than happy to write a review that is just as cheesy as the cheddar cheese sticks that I purchased, and even then I don't think it will meet the spec. For starters, the garlic crusted stuffed crust pizza is an absolute beast. The dough masters behind these are truly cooking as they are not shy to stuff those crusts. But I wanna get into what impressed me the most, the service. When I was ordering my monthly indulgence, I did not put too much thought behind where I would be ordering from and I thought why not Papa John's, it's been a while! While I was perusing the menu, I was able to recognize the sheer variety that I had overlooked previously and this filled me with excitement. More specifically, the ability to order extra pepperoncinis let me truly know that I was living in the land of the free. The gentleman who approached my door was very friendly, and I could tell that he cared about the quality of service I received as he spoke to me about how he noticed I picked out a little bit of everything, and he made it a point to let me know that if there was anything wrong with the order that I could just give him a call and he would make it right. once I brought my food inside and begin looking at the contents that would soon fill me with happiness, I immediately looked toward the extra pepperoncini with delight, being wrapped in tinfoil to contain its mere destructive flavor. However, when I unfolded the tinfoil, I was met with a multitude of pepperoncinis. This information hit me in the face like a lifetime dark mode user who just switched his theme to light mode. I was absolutely flabbergasted, and my breath was taken back. All I knew to do at that moment was to pop one in my mouth and enjoy it because there will be many more that came after that one. I don't know who this mystery man is. I don't know where he comes from, and I don't know if people tell him thanks, but this man made my day and left an everlasting impact that is compelled me to write such a cheesy, flavorful review, because those are the only words- the only feelings- the only sensations, that I am left with after my experience with ordering from Papa John's on this day. TLDR: Pretty good service they give you extra peppers if you buy an extra pepper and they appreciate being tipped so go head and get your pizza from here. read more

The food is always good, but I want to mention the manager that I spoke with today. He was very polite, thoughtful, and handled the problem I had (which turned out to be my fault I ordered it wrong on the app) very graciously. He didn't have to compensate me anything considering it was my fault for ordering wrong, but still he did and was very polite and nice. read more

I went there on a Saturday around noon and the dining was not open, which was weird. I asked about it and was told the manager left and she didn't know if the dining area would open on Saturday. The pizza was burnt on the top and bottom when I asked for the top of the pizza to be "golden brown". I don't know why some places do not know what golden brown on the top means. We went to papa johns and we're very disappointed in the he way the employees are rude and have no professional skills at all. The guy laying out the dough has incriminating proof he's continually wiping his hands on his backside while prepping our food. The girl at the counter acted like she was interrupted from socializing with him when my wife tried to ask her what wait time was. The restaurant itself is dirty with garbage overflowing. And it seems like they don't care at all, when the garbage is overflowing Outback too. We decided to leave since after seeing this disgusting clown show. read more

I went to the store on Decature Pike in Athens TN... First the person working looked like a nasty person to be handling food. The person's shorts were below the butt. the shirt was riding up over the belly. The sandwich was horrible. There were barely any toppings in my sandwich, and it was pretty much on the burnt side then not burnt. I paid $12.00 for the sandwich and a drink. The food nor the service was worth $12.00. I have eaten at this restaurant several times for lunch and have never had a sandwich as bad as this one. I have never seen anyone dressed as poorly as the person fixing my food was dressed. I almost walked out but had my heart on a good sandwich and was disappointed all the way around. I guess looking professional is too much to ask in today's time. Ok so I was starving obviously and so I ordered 1 pizza, a 2 liter, and a brownie and it was $40?!? The guy spoke really fast on the phone which made him hard to understand but atleast he was nice. Anyways, they said the wait would be 1 hour which I thought was also a little much. After an hour and 20 minutes the pizza arrived and I opened the box to a lukewarm pizza. All I wanted was a good fresh atleast hot pizza and I think little Caesar's could have beaten it. read more

We ordered the HUGE Shaqu's pizza tonight and it was delivered by Jeremy. He was super polite and more than in time. He took the time to tell us that if it wasn't to our liking, we can call back with any concerns, so to us that's above and beyond. The pizza was hot and it was everything we expected it to be.
