I was in the area with my family after a long tournament day and wanted to get some dinner before we got on the road back home. It was a Saturday night around 9pm...not a lot of options open that time of night other than the standard chain restaurants. Papa Cido came up on Google with great reviews, so we decided to give them a try. SO GLAD WE DID!!! Immediately, we were greeted and sat at our table when we arrived. The hostess grabbed a kids menu and crayons for our littlest one and sat us at a great booth. With only an hour left before closing time, I wasn't too surprised that there was only one other dine-in customer besides us. We did see quite a few pickup up orders come and go while we were there. The staff were personable and accommodating throughout our time there. And our food was yummy! We ordered: Caesar Salad Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings Papa Cido Pizza Create your own Calazone Honey Salmon with risotto and broccolini Kids 1/2 cheese and 1/2 Pepperoni Pizza Everything was fresh and made to order. With the open kitchen, we were able to watch a lot of the culinary action and appreciated the chef's hard work as he whipped up all of this essentially on his own. The chef took the time to bring out one of our items and even chatted with us for a bit. The bathrooms were tidy, the drinks we ordered were refreshing, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were attentive and professional. Monday 5pm. Service- fast and friendly Food- little bit of a wait for food coming out. $27 for seafood Angel hair pasta, seafood over cooked, shrimp over cooked, some of the scallops were crunchy. The garlic bread lacked enough garlic and butter. Imo, this was a $12 plate not $27, portions of seafood was underwhelming. Fried mozzarella moons were yummy. The sauce that came with it was a little too acidic imo but not terrible. My food- chicken parm wasn't as hot as I would like. I can definitely tell my food sat out longer while my hubby's was made second. Thus the fries were lukewarm, sandwich was warm but would like it hotter! The flavor was fine. No offerings of baked ziti, eggplant Parmesan. Overall $70 included tip, hmmm we might come back to try just the pizza next time but I will pass on the sandwich offerings. read more

The food was delicious! I got the antipasti salad with grilled chicken instead of cured meat. There was a lot of cheese in my salad, enough to take back and eat with crackers, too. We stopped in on Valentine's Day because we had juat noticed the new name on the building and we wanted a place that didn't have a forever wait being the most "romantic date night" of the year. Much to our surprise we were seated the minute we walked through the door. I ordered the small white pizza with bacon and it was delicious! My husband ordered a calzone and he really liked the fact that they left the green peppers a little crispy. We both were able to bring enough home for lunch tomorrow. Our total was approximately $30 which included our meals and drinks. Our server was very attentive asking us multiple times if we needed anything. This is a casual restaurant. The women's bathroom was clean and the restaurant overall was clean. We will definitely be back. read more

Please do not buy pizza here. I did and the crust was burnt and when I tried taking it back the employee would not redo it or give my money back. Very poor customer service and burnt crust. They do care about me as a customer nor do they want me back or what I may tell others. I will give a zero star if I could. Very Disappointed. First time customer!!! read more

Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at approximately 2:30pm, My sister and I decided to eat at this restaurant because we were looking for some place new. We are from the area and have yet to eat at this restaurant so we visited. When we walked in we were greeted promptly and directed to choose any table. The restaurant was completely empty of patrons with the exception of my sister, a man, and I. This was not a good sign to my sister and I, however, we wanted to give the the benefit of the doubt plus we were hungry. I ordered a seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, and angel hair pasta. My sister ordered chicken fettuccine. When the plate arrived I was immediately disturbed by its presentation. It did not look as it read on the menu. I forked the angel hair pasta and noticed that the pasta was not long but short as if it was cut up or fell apart. When I tasted it the noodles were mushy and extremely soft. I tasted the scallops and shrimp and they were chewy. Could not taste the lemon butter garlic sauce it was supposed to be. It tasted primarily like it was in lemon juice. I took a second bite wanting to stomach the meal and not be picky but I decided that the meal was not worth the torture. I found the waitress and told her I did not like the pasta. She asked me why so she can relay my sentiments to management and she took the plate away. I decided that I would try wings. It's kind of hard to mess up wings so I ordered that with the waitress. The manager comes to the table with the plate of pasta that I did not like and asked me what was wrong with the dish. I repeated to her what I had previously expressed to the waitress and the manager tells me that nothing is wrong with the plate. Excuse me...."You are not eating it. I am", I say. She said well we are not going to be able to take the charge off of my tab. I stated that's fine. Then she had the audacity to try to give me the plate of pasta back. I told her that I know you are not trying to give me a plate I have to your waitress that went out of my eyesight and returned with your hands all over it. Bottom line, the manager does not have any business in customer service. Her approach to the situation was aggressive and she thought that I was trying to get out of paying for food. After dealing with her I decided that this establishment wood not get another red cent from my pocketbook. I did not want the chicken wings. We paid for my sister's meal and our drinks. She did end up taking the pasta off but she needs some training. The waitress was very professional and accommodating. I commend her customer service skills. read more

I still can't believe I had one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had in my life right here in Rocky Mount. I can't remember exactly the name, but it was chicken and kielbasa sausage and peppers and onions, etc. All over Penne pasta. It was wonderful. Give them a try if you haven't already, you will be pleasantly surprised. The service and server was excellent as well! read more

Had Lunch at Popa Cibo's today. The Restaurant was very clean and the Waitress was very good and attentive. The service was fast. I had their Spaghetti and Garlic Bread as usual. Their Spaghetti is the best I have found anywhere and the cost was quite low for this area. True Italian Spaghetti and Meat Sauce. "WOW" I stop here every time I get to Rocky Mount, NC. They also have a Lunch Buffet now, but I had to have the Spaghetti. You can't go wrong stopping here, so go on in and enjoy. You won't be sorry ! read more

When sitting down at table, the table was wet from being wiped down but not dried. Waited 15 minutes after ordering for the waitress to come and tell me they were out of Ravioli. While waiting for our meal, another couple who ordered before us at another table had yet to get their salads. Waitress came to tell them they had to cook more chicken for their salads. The couple then asked for their salads to be packaged in to go boxes and had to wait another ten minutes!!! read more

I have been a few times. I like their pizza. Went back yesterday, assuming I could get a glass of wine again by now, as at my last visit 6 months ago their permits had been revoked. Well, they still are. For most of our visit, we were the only patrons dining in-house; it was a Monday, but primetime. They had just run out of ketchup, of all things. They apparently made a run and later brought some, kudos I guess? I haven't found their food to be anything special, other than the pizza. I have tried several pasta dishes, and my companion has also had the meatball sub, which was apparently decent. My/our service has always been fine. I recommend going soon--I don't think they will be around much longer. As some have said, I think it's a bit pricey, and it's not the place to go if you're in a hurry. read more

Visited Papa Cibo for a pasta dinner on a Friday evening. First up - drinks. They do not hve any beer or wine. This particular evening there was no soda either. Choices were water or iced tea. Really? As for the dinners, we ordered a variety - shrimp scampi, carbonara with shrimp, stuffed shells florentine and mussels with spaghetti. All were awful! Sauces were greasy and tasteless and the pasta overcooked except for the shells which were tough. Florentine means spinach. In this case it means "no spinach" as it was so finally chopped that it looked like parsley. No salads came with the meals and the waitress did not offer side salads. The pasta dishes came with an over-toasted piece of what they call garlic bread but there was no sign of garlic or butter on it. Also our beverages were not refilled. My mother-in-law sent her shrimp scampi back to the kitchen as she expressly requested NO angel hair and that is exactly what they gave her. She also told the waitress that it was floating in oil and had no taste of garlic. When she got her second plate (after we had all eaten) it was still greasy. If you are looking or a good Italian meal this is not the place to go! read more

So, we went here for the first time. The portions were good and the meal was okay, however, for the price they charge more should come with the meal. They don't include a small side salad and when they brought the bread we just laughed. They gave us 2 very small slices of bread with a little butter and no garlic. When I asked if this was for both of us I was told yes, one piece for me and one for my husband. I was told most people do not eat the bread so in that case they should ask if we want bread and bring enough for 2. It's like they are rationing something that is so inexpensive. Since when is bread scarce? We asked for more bread and again they brought 2 little slices on a small plate. What happened to the basket of bread? On a positive note, I like the updates they did to the restaurant and the service was good but as far as value, do yourself a favor and go to Olive Garden or Mario's. read more

Went into for the first time and very disappointing. Ordered a large meatball sub with lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and mayo and mustard. Charged. 75 for a little minced up tomatoes, 75 cents for a leaf of lettuce, and 75 cents for olives that I didn't get. Just gave me a small mustard packet and a small bit of mayo on the side. The sub was on a very small sandwich roll about 5 inches long cut in half and I was charged 16.50 for this. Don't waste your time and money here very over priced and not worth it read more
