The surroundings look clean, and the food looks fresh. The apple fritter was delicious. Good apple flavor, not super greasy. Despite waiting in my backpack for a couple of hours, my tuna sandwich still tasted fresh. Bread not dried out. Salted caramel cookie was good, though not crispy (which happens to be my preference). Highly recommend Golden Bakery & Deli.

Total cost 25???? Wtf?? The staff are friendly and the food is made fresh to order so expect you might have to wait a bit for your food. Food: Crazy tots - The toppings are a little scant but it's kind of forgivable because these are perfectly crispy. You can hear someone bite into one from across the table! Would gladly eat another plate plain. 4.5/5 Corned beef hash - A little tough texturally as they cube their corned beef instead of chopping it but it had a good flavor without being too salty. The potatoes soak up the beefy oil and along with the lightly cooked onions it was great. My sunny side eggs were also perfect. 4.5/5 Sausage plate - This is a fun dish as the sausages are all unique. You get a breakfast, Italian, chicken, and sage sausage each with unique textures. None of them were dry. It comes with a ton of crispy country potatoes, eggs, and two pieces of multigrain toast so guaranteed to fill you up. 5/5 I will also give this place bonus points for having a hot sauce bar! There were a selection of Tabasco-brand sauces, Melinda, Tia Lula, and a few other I hadn't heard of before so it was great to have a hot sauce flight for my eggs and potatoes. If you're looking for a brunch spot I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. It's not the fanciest, most creative, or even cleanest place but it beats the socks off a Dennys or Tim Hortons any day of the week.

The entry needs a bit tidying up to be welcoming, but the inside is kind of cute and clean enough. We were greeted and seated promptly. I had the Big Bend Hot Cereal, which was okay. Sorry to say, I didn't feel safe adding the fresh fruit cup. Hubby had the pulled pork breakfast sandwich, which was very good. The major disappointment was the coffee. It was super super weak. There was no saving it, and for a breakfast place weak coffee is a deal breaker. It wasn't like Denny's weak, it was almost-water weak. Maybe just an off pot; but it was bad.

Others at the table had pasta. We were all satisfied with the entrees. Now, anyone who knows me knows I am all about the dessert. Banana lava cake. Sounded interesting. Big disappointment. The cake had just been taken out of the freezer; parts of it were cold. There was no lava whatsoever anywhere. That a still partially frozen dessert (that's supposed to be at least warm) would be served is enough for me to not go back. In addition, the cake was dry and not flavorful. Will try somewhere else next time we're in Golden.

The place was pretty empty during brunch time and food took a moderate amount of time to come out but was hot and fresh. Food: My wife had the island bowl which had two poached eggs, veges, avocado and a hollandaise sauce which was lighter but clean and flavorful. I had the Reuben sandwich which was quite good. The corned beef was sliced thin and tender. The 1:1 ratio of meat to kraut was good and the bread had a nice crispy toast to it. The star of the table, however, were the hand cut fries. They were very crispy, not too oily, and perfectly seasoned. Overall, this was pretty solid. Even at our cabin in Golden we have a ton of bug pressure so I kind of cut this place some slack, the restaurant itself was otherwise clean but I understand this might bother other people too much. If you're looking to switch up your brunch rotation I would at least consider this place.
