Sitting outside looking up at Kicking horse ski hill watching a motorcross championship just enjoying every moment of being in Golden BC. This spot is great. The staff are friendly and the food is made fresh to order so expect you might have to wait a bit for your food. Food: Crazy tots - The toppings are a little scant but it's kind of forgivable because these are perfectly crispy. You can hear someone bite into one from across the table! Would gladly eat another plate plain. 4.5/5 Corned beef hash - A little tough texturally as they cube their corned beef instead of chopping it but it had a good flavor without being too salty. The potatoes soak up the beefy oil and along with the lightly cooked onions it was great. My sunny side eggs were also perfect. 4.5/5 Sausage plate - This is a fun dish as the sausages are all unique. You get a breakfast, Italian, chicken, and sage sausage each with unique textures. None of them were dry. It comes with a ton of crispy country potatoes, eggs, and two pieces of multigrain toast so guaranteed to fill you up. 5/5 I will also give this place bonus points for having a hot sauce bar! There were a selection of Tabasco-brand sauces, Melinda, Tia Lula, and a few other I hadn't heard of before so it was great to have a hot sauce flight for my eggs and potatoes. If you're looking for a brunch spot I'd highly recommend giving this place a try. It's not the fanciest, most creative, or even cleanest place but it beats the socks off a Dennys or Tim Hortons any day of the week.

The entry needs a bit tidying up to be welcoming, but the inside is kind of cute and clean enough. We were greeted and seated promptly. I had the Big Bend Hot Cereal, which was okay. Sorry to say, I didn't feel safe adding the fresh fruit cup. Hubby had the pulled pork breakfast sandwich, which was very good. The major disappointment was the coffee. It was super super weak. There was no saving it, and for a breakfast place weak coffee is a deal breaker. It wasn't like Denny's weak, it was almost-water weak. Maybe just an off pot; but it was bad.

Oh my was it yummy! And then we had a chocolate chip cookie! All this for $30!! The water is self serve in stainless cups. The colors and creatively inspired wood art decor was fun. It was just perfect that we found this funky patio right next to the bridge. After a long hot drive from Jasper, this was the ideal spot to enjoy a beer and the view. I got the River house Chicken burger - Fresh chicken thigh, avocado, old cheddar, bacon, jalapeño mayo, lettuce, tomato on cheese Kaiser bun with Casesar salad. The chicken thigh was so juicy, not like most chicken burger patties and the Caesar salad was refreshing on a hot summer day. The bf got the pulled pork quesadilla with Caesar salad as well. We were expecting the usual store bought tortilla wrap but to our surprise, the quesadilla was made with a crispy fried tortilla. It had the texture of a hard taco and it gave the quesadilla some crunch and structure while holding in all the ingredients. It was a wonderful lunch on the patio to split up our long day. He enjoyed the shade while I got some much needed sunshine to go with our beers.

The place was pretty empty during brunch time and food took a moderate amount of time to come out but was hot and fresh. Food: My wife had the island bowl which had two poached eggs, veges, avocado and a hollandaise sauce which was lighter but clean and flavorful. I had the Reuben sandwich which was quite good. The corned beef was sliced thin and tender. The 1:1 ratio of meat to kraut was good and the bread had a nice crispy toast to it. The star of the table, however, were the hand cut fries. They were very crispy, not too oily, and perfectly seasoned. Overall, this was pretty solid. Even at our cabin in Golden we have a ton of bug pressure so I kind of cut this place some slack, the restaurant itself was otherwise clean but I understand this might bother other people too much. If you're looking to switch up your brunch rotation I would at least consider this place.
