The space is quite beautiful, with Montessori toys and furniture throughout. The teachers are warm and nurturing. Since joining Maven Valley Prep our son has learned new skills like washing his hands, cleaning up his toys after he plays with them, and sitting to eat at his toddler table for the full meal/snack (versus needing to be in the highchair). His days are full of activities like reading, arts and crafts, music, free play, and outside time. I love that he spends so much time outside. Maven Valley Prep takes the children out twice a day on most days. They do stroller walks and trips to the playground. Polina is incredibly honest about our son's day as well. She's not afraid to say when he had tough moments, was injured, or fought with another child. I appreciate this so much as it helps me parent him better. They use Brightwheel to record activities and send tons of photos of him enjoying all of the different activities at daycare: eating delicious meals; coloring; painting; reading; going outside; napping; and playing in the jungle gym at daycare. It's so nice to check in during the day and see that he's having a blast, being well taken care of, and is so engaged in all different kinds of play.

She's also an only child and doesn't get a lot of opportunities to be with other children her age. I wanted her to attend half days to get her started, but that wasn't available. It was from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Too long for a toddler who never went to school before in my opinion. The first few days was a bit rough. My daughter cried a lot, but the teachers were very patient and accommodating to her. The turning point was the fourth day. She couldn't wait to go to school in the morning and when I picked her up in the afternoon, she didn't want to leave. I also appreciated the school using an app to update me on her daily activities. I began looking forward to every photo and video. Bottom line: The school is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar. My child was in a nurturing school, learning in a clean and safe environment and surrounded by caring teachers and well-behaved (for the most part) children. Advice to other first-time parents? Look at enrolling a year ahead for the fall session. Spots fill up fast. I thought enrolling six months ahead would be sufficient, but all that got me was on the waiting list.

Aside from that, what really sealed the deal for me was their intimate family type of setting (the center has a 12 children max count), as I was specifically looking for a place that made my daughter feel at home -- and this was it. I was also thrilled to learn that fresh organic meals were made on site and served everyday. Needless to say, but my daughter is excited to arrive at daycare every morning and is equally happy at pick-up. On the development front, she's ahead of the curve. I attribute that to the nurturing and loving environment that HSH provides through their amazing and sweet teachers. I'll be forever grateful to them for everything they do.

We saw an instant improvement in our daughter's behavior in the first couple of months and really appreciated how welcoming, caring, and nurturing the teachers were with her as she was one of the youngest kids at the time. Sometimes Mila would cry when we picked her up because she wanted to stay with her friends and teachers! We cannot say enough amazing things about her special teacher Jenny. Jenny has been an exceptional teacher and truly loves all the children and it really shows. She goes above and beyond and kept us updated daily on areas that my daughter needed to improve on. She devoted so much time in ensuring that Mila was succeeding academically and I cannot thank her enough for all her patience. There is an app where pictures and videos were uploaded everyday so we felt like we were really in touch and not missing out on the daily fun activities. Also, there is a huge private playground in the back where the children spend a lot of time playing which is quite unique to this type of daycare. This school has become like family to us and we are so grateful that Mila was able to spend two incredible years there. I feel like she is very well prepared for her next chapter and only hope that she will have the same level of care at her next school!

One of the worst schools in my history of being a mother. I had such high hopes until one incident…read moreoccurred where one child was hurt and the school closed temporarily and went through an investigation. A teacher and a teacher's aid were removed. After some time the school reopened. About a month after reopening the teacher that was removed was reinstated. My child was not involved in the incident and continued to attend. Upon speaking to a teacher during an interview I discovered awkward body language which told me there was more than meets the eye. About a couple of months went by and there was a new teacher's aid. She was not introduced to the parents. This woman did not look friendly which lead me to further investigate without the help of the school. At the students' graduation the school administrators Irene and Shirley and this particular woman that went by the name Ms. Janet did not not show up to celebrate this special moment with the students. Red flags After the last of school, I was contacted by a fellow parent stating that something serious happened at the school. I was told that Ms. Janet was hitting the children. The students were being abused by this monster. The following thought was the teachers have to have known. It broke my heart and made me mad. I write this review in hopes that you think twice about sending your child to this school if it ever reopens in the future which I hope it does not. The administration consist of young irresponsible women who do not have enough information to offer when it comes to staff members. Just a lot of ummmm uhhhh a Hamina ahamina and made up nonsense. And SHAME ON YOU TEACHERS FOR NOT PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN FROM THIS MONSTER. Kudos to the student that bravely spoke out. This review does not warrant an arrogant response. During my search for a new daycare I came across Generation 21 Daycare and decided to check it out. I fell in love. The space is clean and the staff is incredible with the children they care for. As a teacher the curriculum is very important to me and I was astonished to hear that the person behind the curriculum and planning is a NY certified teacher with a masters in special education as well as general education including years of experience. Needless to say my daughter looks forward to going to her daycare now.
