Pantograf is a cafe fashioned from an old tram car. Located on the ground of the Politechnika, it's quite far from the center. If you happen to being visiting the Aviation Museum or the nearby park, you shouldn't miss Pantograf. The cafe is clearly a labor of love. Thoughts seem to have gone into every little thing to build the experience. The menus, for instance, resemble tram schedules. On the tables there are these miniature booths that resemble full-sized ones that dot the streets of Krakow. There's even a schedule of the jedynka over the exit. Sitting there, I couldn't help but develop a smile on my face.
I ordered a beer and a bacon sandwich. It came to less than 15 zł--definitely cheaper than anywhere in the city center. The sandwich was excellent. I especially like how it came in airliner-style tray that neatly fit the smallish table.
One potential downside is the closing hour. As another reviewer noted, Pantograf closes at 7 PM, when there's still plenty of daylight during the Summer. read more
