Pantograf is a cafe fashioned from an old tram car. Located on the ground of the Politechnika, it's…read morequite far from the center. If you happen to being visiting the Aviation Museum or the nearby park, you shouldn't miss Pantograf. The cafe is clearly a labor of love. Thoughts seem to have gone into every little thing to build the experience. The menus, for instance, resemble tram schedules. On the tables there are these miniature booths that resemble full-sized ones that dot the streets of Krakow. There's even a schedule of the jedynka over the exit. Sitting there, I couldn't help but develop a smile on my face. I ordered a beer and a bacon sandwich. It came to less than 15 zł--definitely cheaper than anywhere in the city center. The sandwich was excellent. I especially like how it came in airliner-style tray that neatly fit the smallish table. One potential downside is the closing hour. As another reviewer noted, Pantograf closes at 7 PM, when there's still plenty of daylight during the Summer.

Then we find this lovely place. Artisanal coffee, excellent pastries and lovely staff made our mornings that much better. The fact it was a 7 minute walk from AWF gym was the best part of our trip. We were there every day at 7:30am for the 5 days we stayed in Krakow and the staff was there with a smile every day. Thank you so much Pantograf. We miss your wonderful coffee and service.

We managed to snag a nice outdoor table with a nice vibe with a couple of other restaurants around us all seating next to each other. Inside this place is adorable and so unique. The decor and colors and the art. Just a neat place. The food and drinks also on par with the ambiance. Service can be slow but we weren't in any hurry. We ordered a round of espresso martinis and my one friend had a sparkling Rosè. The martinis were a little milky looking which isn't my favorite but these tasted good and not to dairy forward. It had a little extra ingredients in it than your normal espresso martini. Which made it different too. Hazelnut vodka and amaretto. Worth a try. We tried the Brie and salad baguette and the berry cheesecake. Both of these were stellar and so good and fresh. Loaded with toppings on the baguette the Brie was nice and creamy. The tomatoes were delicious. The cheesecake was so crumbly and the compote on top was house made and very berry forward. All of it was just the perfect afternoon pick me up and we were so happy with the serving size and all the dressing up in the plate. So pretty. One of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. They make all their desserts in house I believe. They have some great looking ones displayed . Loved this place !

It consists of several small rooms, nooks and corners stacked with small tables all on different levels. Every room is decorated with a different theme and color you get to pick where you want to sit. We chose a table in the very back - red walls with red velvet curtains, smocked glass mirrors and crystal chandeliers. This was the most beautifully decorated breakfast setting we have ever seen. The food was really delicious, too. We opted for a smocked salmon omelette, shakshooka and an order of Apple pancakes. Everything was truly amazing and had a local twist. This place was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip to Krakow. I also cannot say enough about the service- our waitress was absolutely delightful and amazing.

They have 3 levels of limited seating but it's seat yourself so you may be waiting for a table if it's busy. Hop in line and order from the counter. I had to get the hot chocolate because it's the thick kind you can only find in Europe. It went down like a dessert - you almost have to chew it. It's really good, if you like that type of chocolate. The service is excellent - I was helped by a young lady who was very personable. I asked if they took cash but I didn't have the exact amount and they didn't have enough to make change so I paid by card instead. Seems to be the more popular payment type anyway. Make time to stop by during your visit to Old Town - it's worth it!

I have noticed that many cafes and pubs of Krakow have this approach - which is great - that the background music is rather quiet. after all pub/cafe/restaurant guests come to have a meal/drink and to talk, not to listen to music. I have many wonderful memories from this cafe - meetings with friends for a drink and a chat throughout many years. the place is beautifully decorated and has a unique atmosphere. a very interesting interior, with a mezzanine along two walls in the main room. the mezzanine seating is ideal for a more private conversation or a date ;) even though alcohol is being served there, I haven't noticed any disruptive behaviour. the floor plan of the place (a few connected smallish rooms instead of a large one) prevents bigger groups or (heaven forbid) infamous bachelor parties from frequenting. Although this year I have visited this place on a weeknight so I can't speak for weekends... Altogether I really recommend this place. it is totally unpretentious and is really impressive for those who like antique furniture and decorations, without even trying. There is self service, so don't wait for somebody to take your order - you need to go to the bar to place it. but the staff will clear the tables of course. The cafe has a few connected rooms on the main level, the mezzanine and a medium size room on the second floor (it might be hard to find it) with its own bar, and a beautiful view from the window.
