They did everything from replacing/upgrading an electrical panel for one of our tenants to rewiring a 9,000 sq ft basement for amp-intensive business use. Mr. Adams even came out mid-summer on an hour's notice to assess a broken A/C. He identified the issue within minutes (it was a bad capacitor) and charged us for just that. Such levels of competence and honesty are extremely rare in this day & age. We now trust only this company with our building's wiring and heating / cooling. I contacted 4 companies in total. After about three weeks I decided on Lighthouse because of their demeanor and attention to detail during my estimate. Of the 4 they were the 2nd lowest price, and to be honest the variance from lowest to highest wasn't significant (about18%). They did the work properly, everything is sealed nice and tight, and functioning as it should. Next, I was also having some issues with my ac/blower fan. James called the manufacture on two occasions to check further into my issue, seeing if this was common or not. After the manufacture was unaware of any problems similar to mine, James returned to take a closer look at numerous components. Long story short it took him 30 mins. to diagnose and repair the problem (correctly). Before eventually hiring Lighthouse. There was more extensive work that I also had quoted for a future project, by Lighthouse and the 3 other companies. Such as moving of floor vents and or just sealing those vents. On the these larger jobs Lighthouse came in with the lowest price.

Hardy came over to diagnose my heater issues. He came and worked on it for about 1.5 hours, then…read moresaid it needed a fuse, which he said he replaced. It only worked for about 1.5 hours. I asked if it was truly fixed because I have had issues with HVAC companies in the past. He reassured me that it was fixed before he left. He told me I would need work done later, not later that day. I called the warranty company, and they informed me that he claimed to have fixed it. He returned and stated that he had checked everything and that it would be functioning properly, but repeated that I would need to work on it later. The heater downstairs went out in about 15-20 minutes. He only sent a quote for the damper, which they denied. I was given an itemized bill for approximately $2,300 for several other parts. I am unclear why he didn't submit the entire bill to the warranty company for their review and possible denial. I would have felt better about it. I wanted to trust him so bad, but that was sketchy. I am so disappointed with his service. Times are tough, and I don't have $2,300+ to just give someone. It's cold, and I have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get another person here to fix it. Where are the honest workers?

Mr. Hardy started the appointment with sarcasm which wasn't appreciated at 8am and then proceeded to explain that I was using my air conditioning wrong that it should always be set at 75. Seeing as how the electric company recommends 78 and I'm 52 and my mom is 86 and we've always set it at 78 in the summer I completely disagree. Even so that doesn't explain what the issue is. He then proceeded half way up the attic ladder and didn't even go into the attic to look at the unit (which is set far back from the ladder approach) - but declared the issue was the damper. Before paying the fee for inspection ($100) he told me the company almost never covers dampers (which is true and clear in the warranty). Seeing as though he didn't even see the damper nor checked on anything else in the attic I don't trust his diagnosis. If in Nov 2023 he declined to work with a warranty company I'd recommend that Mr. Hardy no longer do so. Additionally, he claimed to have "cleaned" the outside unit but when I went outside to look at it, it was very clear it hadn't been cleaned and even if he had all that takes is rinsing it with a hose. Now I'm out $100 that I would have preferred to spend on a company that actually does more than a glance to complete a diagnostic.
