I want to say thank you publicly to Pantells. I had been several places looking for the right electrical hookup for my vehicle to install a scooter carrier for a disabled person. No one could help, not the hardware, auto or even electric dealers. So I went online, found the pigtail I needed, took it to them and they were able to wire it for me. They were extremely patient, kind and helped me when no one else seemed to be able to. Not only that....they did the wiring of the pigtail for free, including the materials. These guys were a blessing to me in ways they do not know..and I am very greatful to them. I've always said business has room for more than profit. Compassion, and kindness will get you lifelong customers..long after price! Thank you guys again!!! read more

I highly recommend this place. They know what they're doing. It's a family own business.I can say I was your customer sense 1999. I purchased a1969 volkswagen and the radio was not even working. So I had them install me new speakers and a stereo. The quality and service was awesome. Then as we roll back time to the future, my sister's radio broke and I went and had a new stereo installed and just last week, her stereo started giving weird messages. And found out that the speaker's blue.So they were nice enough. They helped me.We installed new speakers and now my sister is on her merry way with a new stereo and new backspeakers. Again, the same quality service I got in the past.Same quality service.I got last week. read more

Way beyond expectations! These guys just earned themselves a repeat client. Brought my 911 Porsche and we spoke briefly about what could be done. I left it primarily to their expertise and I'm glad I did. They over exceeded my expectations by a lot! They custom built this box and even etched a glass emblem in the top. They also matched the vinyl of the car so it literally looks like it was there from the factory. Amazing job guys! read more

Great shop. Family business. Been in business since 1950, originally a service shop/gas station. Now car audio as I've known my whole life. I usually do my own work but not this time round. I wanted to take my car somewhere where I felt comfortable. These guys do clean, pro grade work. Took my Mercedes in for a blown factory speaker, a small amp and sub install. Their installs are very well thought out, put together, and very nice. Wiring if you didn't know what you were looking at, you wouldn't even know they added it cause it looks factory. They were able to accomplish exactly what I asked for and them some. Ok pricing too. I'd highly recommend Pantells. read more

Very happy with our new Pioneer. They did a great job with the installation in less than an hour! I already had an appointment but called them a day earlier and they did accommodate me a day earlier although they were busy with other cars. Staff are knowledgable and friendly. read more

Tried to support a local businesses instead of just going to a big box store like Best Buy when I was gifted a new stereo system for my birthday and needed it installed. I called and talked to a woman on the phone and (like many others have stated in other reviews) she was rude and very plainly blew me off because I didn't purchase my equipment there. She literally said she wasn't interested in doing the work and said I'd be waiting months because they were "busy with their own stuff". I get it's not a huge job but as a small business owner myself I would never talk to a potential client like that. Happy to take my business (and the other 2 cars I need installs done on that I didn't even get a chance to mention) to a place that wants it. read more

The lady who answered was very rude. I was looking to get a new amp and wiring done on my Harley. She said they don't have any amps and it wasn't worth their time if I brought in my own amp. I guess my project wasn't big enough for them. Not helpful at all. So when is installation which is basically pure labor for say 2 or 3 hours not worth it. I'll be going to Bagger Audio in San Jose. Probably an extra 25 minutes to get there but they were more than willing to help me read more

Thank you for excellent customer service! Love my new stereo and so thankful the buzzing noise is gone.

Great experience, from sales to installation!! Installed a new radio and back up camera,

I can't say enough about these guys! I went into Pantell's with very little knowledge of car audio, just knowing I was ready to spend some money on a nice system. Alex was very patient and thorough in explaining all the components and how they worked together. We built an amazing system and they made quick work of it come install day. Everything is super clean and crisp and my truck sounds freaking AMAZING now! To add to it all the final price was even $200 less than was originally quoted! I wish I would have came to them years ago. I had a great experience and their communication and end product is top tier. There is a reason this place has been operating for 70+ years. I will continue to give my business to the Pantell's for as long as they are operating. Thanks again guys! You're a top notch organization and I couldn't be happier! read more

Excellent service, listened to what I wanted and didn't try to sell me more than that, which I appreciated. They also had a cancellation and for me in that day! Very happy for the work and if we didn't move away I would be using them for any audio services going forward. read more

Go here, Alex was the man, knowledgeable top notch service at a great price. Will be sending any stereo business I come across his way.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! Took my car into Pantell's to have a stereo unit installed with a backup camera. Pantell's installed a bypass on the stereo. When I picked up the car everything seemed fine but when I would put my car into park my speakers would make a loud popping noise and the volume would turn up extremely loud. Thanks to this power surge it blew my rear tail light! I called Pantell's and they said to bring my vehicle back down to them so they could look at it. When I dropped the vehicle off I showed them what the speakers were doing when I put the vehicle into park. Pantell's said they took out my new stereo unit and put a unit of their own in and they could not duplicate the popping noise or volume issue. Of course they didn't...I smell a scam! Pantell's told me that they looked over the entire install again and couldn't find the issue and said that it was my unit causing the issue. The owner Keith blamed the stereo and kept trying to sell me one of his store stereos. Pantell's charged me $45 for that service and to remove the bypass. REALLY! When I got home I tried to duplicate the popping/noise issue and I couldn't! Coincidence, I think not! It was the bypass causing the issue but Pantell's didn't want to take accountability for it and kept telling me that it was my unit. I also realized my blue tooth microphone was not working (which it was working perfectly fine after I picked my car up the first time). I called Pantell's and they said that the blue tooth microphone was working fine when they checked it out. The guy even told me they called the shops number to make sure it was working. Righttttt!!!! I brought my car to a third party to have them look at the stereo and they said Pantell's did not hook up the microphone wire for the blue tooth! So if Pantell's checked the blue tooth microphone before I picked the car up how were they able to make a call if the blue tooth microphone was not hooked up...riddle me this!!! So not only did I have to pay for a new break light, I had to pay more money for the 2nd check by Pantell's and removal of the bypass, pay a third party to re-check/fix it all. Pantell's tried to dupe me into buying one of their own units by saying my unit was causing the issue and their unit worked perfectly fine...Shady!!! Do not waste your time or money on this place. read more

Highly recommend Pantell's. I was impressed with their knowledge of stereo products, how they took the time to listen as I explained my music and sound preferences, worked to create a sound system that aligns to what I like, and researched my truck's electronic systems to insure the new stereo did not impact the truck's operation. The installation is super clean, the sound is amazing, and their customer service sets a high bar for all others to follow. read more

This family owned business is awesome. Been coming here since I was a teen which was 30 years ago. They did an amazing job on my boat this week. My favorite thing about the experience was that when I told the sales person "I don't need super loud I just want clean sound" they didn't try to upsell me to something I didn't need. Installation was quick and super clean. I highly recommend them. read more

Just wanted to write a review (and give KUDOS) to Tyler who works here. First of all, this is well established business (I came here with my dad when I was a kid).. and they definitely have a great reputation. I recently had an issue where my truck kept bleeding voltage somewhere in the system and I was going through batteries every two or three weeks (battery would be completely dead). I couldn't figure out what was happening but I knew my truck had a major issue that needed to be resolved. I brought my truck here and had a stereo system installed (great job, by the way) and I mentioned to Tyler the problem I was experiencing. He initially didn't see any issues but asked if I could leave the truck with them overnight. Tyler was able to find the source of the voltage problem (alarm system issue) and resolved the problem for me. Now, I don't have any further battery issues and the truck runs perfectly. Tyler didn't have to figure this out for me.. but he went the extra mile and provided excellent customer service. Thanks again! read more

What a hidden gem in downtown Antioch! Third generation business and still going strong! I called on a Tuesday and spoke with Tyler who gave me a preliminary idea of what I would be looking at cost wise and for install time. I brought my 2011 F-150 in the next day and he replaced the head unit with an Alpine touch screen and backup camera and had it ready in less than 4 hours! And the price was exactly what he described. I love working with people who do what they say and do it on time. My new favorite car audio spot :) read more

I've been coming to Pantells since I could drive, so for about 14 years now and I've brought every car I owned to them. I recently bought a vehicle that had a decent stereo system but I thought the sound could be better and I wanted to upgrade it to something with car play. I brought my car into Pantell's and met with Alex. He listened to my concerns with what I didn't like about my old stereo and what I was looking for in an upgraded system. We picked out new equipment that had everything I was looking for. The install was amazing. Super clean, quick and the stereo system sounded better than even what I was hoping for. Top notch quality work for sure. I love that this is a family business. I would absolutely recommend Pantell's. read more

What's the common thread about retailers and installers of car audio from 1950-2011 in East Contra Costa. Simple, Pantell's is still in business and the others are not. Remember Matthews? Cal HiFi? Pacific Stereo? And more recently, Good Guys and countless others. Ask yourself before you select your retailer: In business for more than five years? Does the salesperson have a clue about high end audio systems? Does your salesperson also sell TVs, vacuum cleaners, and every other item the store sells? Once you leave after the purchase and installation, what happens when it breaks? Is the salesperson going to lowball the hardware purchase and then screw you on the installation cost? What's the restocking charge? (Best Buy?) How many of the retailers installations have been featured regularly in the national Hot Rod magazines? Get your system at Pantell's and have them install it. Family owned for 60 years, regular attendees of the Vegas CES show, And they'll build you a kick ass system that won't break the bank. And most importantly, they back what they sell and install. If you're looking for someone to fix the messed up install you or someone else did don't be a jerk when it's not cheap to have them fix It. read more

I had a sound system put in about three weeks ago. I waited for 3 weeks to post a review to see if anything would go wrong and so far so good. Ralph, the owner is very knowledgeable about music. We talked and figured out a sound system that would be good for me in my 2015 crew cab Chevy. Ralph and his brothers installed two 12" kickers underneath my back seat, new tweeters in the dash and a 4 channel 600watt Apline to run the whole system. The bass shacks my truck sometimes. The craftsmanship is good and you cant even tell I have a sound system in it. The whole job is VERY CLEAN and the price is very reasonable. I am very happy with their work and will recommend Pantell to all my family and friends. read more

I walked into the shop for the first time in 15+ years since I've been working in Antioch after a friends referral. I wanted some better speakers and an amp for my 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. Tyler an employee, was very friendly and knowledgeable and steered me towards the Rockford Fosgate HD amp and speaker kit. They had the parts in stock, and had my bike done in a few hours.
