Came for one last family vacation before the end of summer. We booked a one bedroom condo style room with a kitchenette at a very reasonable price. During the summer season this resort offers a lot of family friendly activities. The gondola was a fun short ride up to the upper village were there is a ton of things going on. There is a 4 person chair lift you that takes you about half way up the mountain. From here there are several hikes to take of various degrees of difficulty. There are also a ton of mountain bike trails. If you are a lover of mountain biking you would probably love this place. Back down in the upper village the resort has several kid friendly activities available for reasonable prices. To a 1.5hr hide and seek hike to a full day camp there is lots for the kiddos to choose from. Also many of these activities are supervised so it gives you an opportunity for some quiet time. There is also child minding available for children under 6yrs. As for the rooms there is definitely a wide arrange of available accommodations at this resort, including a huge luxury cabin with 5 bedrooms to small bachelor style hotel rooms. We stayed in a one bedroom townhouse style condo in the lower village. The condo had a full kitchen which was equipped with all your basic needs. Beds and pillows were decent in terms of comfort. Decor was a mix of newly updated and shabby chic. My one complaint was the small bathroom. But it was doable for our three night stay. Also if you have mobility issues I wouldn't recommend this resort as I also noticed the website states that accommodations can not be made for those with disabilities. Sad.

I hoped for more than I got from Panorama. That said, it is loaded with potential and may work for you. The things I like and that Panorama does well: Good for families Has good, long, consistent pitch Secluded Range of activity We were drawn here because we have a timeshare that makes it worth investigating and we knew we would need to have some non-ski days for rest and recovery. Ski some groomers or take a day off. We are on a nine week tour of over ten resorts and the aging body can only handle so much! The mountain setting and lift orientation are great. From the base, ride up Mile One and blast down a moderately steep (but rolling) open groomed trail with an excellent fall line. For little ones and learners, there are two magic carpets that alleviate "lift stress" and provide a gentle, short ride to repeat the process. This lower area is made for low stress and comfort. From the top of Mile One, move on to the Champagne. This is a very long chair that travels up another steady slope with a few wide-cut groomers with perfect fall line and steady slope. To the skier's right, there are steep tree lined slopes. To skier's left is the Sun Bowl area. The main part of this lift is made for race training. The last assault up Summit to the peak is pretty spectacular. At the very top, riders can access terrain that was previously only used by cat-ski operations (Taynton Bowl). There is an intermediate road down as well as an advanced set of trails that return to the front of the mountain. We liked "View of 1000 Peaks" and "Top of the World". The downside is that this mountain does not get the quantity, frequency or quality of snow that other nearby mountains get. For some, this is a positive. However, it was icy here while other resorts within a one day drive were getting fresh snow. For others, there is heli-ski (which looks quite good) and snowmobile tours. The surrounding mountains are very big and extreme, however Panorama sits like a little brother beholden to its bigger and more snow infested brothers that surround it.

We've been staying over in Canmore for a couple of days before we came over here to check out Horsethief Lodge at Panorama Village Resort through Hilton Grand Vacations timeshares. We had asked for a handicap room because of my mother's hips and knees. While informed that wasn't available, we made the assumption that we would receive a room as close to accessible as possible since the request had been made. Our first inkling of a problem was no elevator from the underground garage, but okay. When we got to our building the stairs up to the front door level reminded me of the stairs from The Exorcist: steep, narrow and with missing chunks. We opened the front door. Was there an inviting living room to greet us? There was not. There was an immediate flight of steps. Equally steep and twice as narrow. These two flights led us to a living room. To get to the bedrooms was another one and two flights of stairs. So the easily accessible room turned into three flights of stairs to get to the bedroom for her, and four for the rest of us. The only response from the front office was "didn't they tell you about the stairs?" and they might be able to get half our party into a studio room with a Murphy bed the next night and for the remainder of the week. The final thing I'll note is the aging quality of the resort. Small bathrooms with fiberglass shower inserts, doors that stuck in the frames, wheezing refrigerator, a six inch step over to the patio which overlooked the two outdoor Jacuzzis from the '70s or '80s which were the whirlpools for the whole complex. So we're heading back to Alberta. Not only did they lose a customer, Hilton lost a timeshare sale.

Amazing hotel service. Even got a free upgrade. The mountains here are beautiful! We came early in the summer year May. And my everything was open for the summer season. But having invermere so close is nice for a trip into town.

An overpriced place. Went during the summer, it felt like it was a cash grab for all the rides. The swimming pools are worth it.

The coolest thing ever is taking the gondola up to the lodge. Never have I ever taken such a long gondola ride (it's 25 minutes)! And yes the gondola pass is included as part of your hotel stay. Absolutely gorgeous scenery along the way and once at the very top, the lodge is there along with a nice sit down restaurant as well as a decent sports bar/saloon (both open late) . The gondola runs from 8am to 6pm so plan accordingly - if you show up after 6pm you just check in with the front and they have shuttles driving you back up the mountain - it's twisty , turny, dirt road and quite a white knuckle ride lol. Props to the young guy who drove us back one night in pitch black - grateful we didn't go over a cliff! My ONLY complaint is the walkway from the gondola to the lodge is literally GRAVEL. Like big chunks of gravel. Trying to roll our luggage across this was horrible. I'm pretty sure it didn't do my luggage any service either. The crap thing was that several employees saw us trying to pull our luggage and never stopped to help. When I checked in, the front desk was like "oh, there's supposed to be luggage carts to help with that". Nope. There. Weren't. Checking out the lovely guys (one of which was our driver that pitch black night) helped us take our luggage to the gondola. We didn't hike any of the trails up there - but the resort does lead guided hikes. There's also a decent cafe to get some breakfast and a cute little gift shop to get sundries late at night. All in all I would totally stay here again for the experience - just now I know to just run ahead and get help with my luggage!

There are shops and places to refill your water bottles. You can hike from here but we took the ski lift to the lookout area and started our hike from there. The path takes you through meadows, to look out areas and along alpine lakes. We ended up walking back down to the village area to get in a hike just under 5 miles. For fun we took the lift back up and down and saw some mule deer along the way. The village has some educational displays as well as shopping and snacks. The gondola ride is long and provides some great views. We enjoyed this very much.

I managed to grip it. Hubby grabbed it and the manager came along and closed it, but didn't offer any compensation which could have been a really bad time which if I didn't catch it would have knocked me in the head really hard. And none of the staff seemed to care. They also didn't care that my husband was holding up the damn thing until finally someone came to fix the situation. This should of been compensated. Either with another drink, a dessert, or my meal off. I didn't even get an apology. I have heard mixed reviews of this place and I would say try some where else. The fact that the restaurant manager didn't even apologize should say something. I won't even bother with the review of the food. The fact that I was almost clubbed by the metal part of a big umbrella and no one really made my dinner better, says alot from this place.

Overall the hill was nice but I think there are things that won't make me want to come back here anytime soon. First is I don't love that the majority of the blue and green runs are off a single chair, granted I understand that they are limited with what they have but I find for the beginner level people it is difficult to really move off the main quad chair which does move fast but is a bit of a wait. As well due to the main run being the nicest and easiest there are many many kids on it which does make the run more difficult as you try to avoid them and since you have to pass over the road it funnels people quite a lot. Second is I found the black runs were not only packed with moguls which is fine but they were very icy, and there was a lack of powder. The blacks also feel a bit unkept as they didn't seem very well groomed and not much snow to cushion. I do have to say I only went here for one day of skiing and hit about 10 different runs in the day. I did enjoy the ski out and the lines were not super long which made the day much more enjoyable!

The mountain only has a few lifts but it's a wonderful experience, the minimal crowds to the friendly atmosphere I don't think it gets better than this. The snow sport culture can sometimes have a very pretentious and obnoxious vibe but this place is the absolute opposite. The runs are steep with plenty of options for every level. The ski school was so good, my 5 yr old son was in the two hour 1pm time slot with Ryan and he did a fantastic job. The ratio was 1 teacher and two kids. The magic carpet is long and you can get a good run as it isn't too short. The school check in is next to the rental building, the lesson starts with the instructors meeting by the check in building. The main lodge is old school and homey. The staff are all sweet and relaxed. We had the chili and the smoked salmon to go sandwiches both are fairly priced and solid. Multiple lockers and a ton of shelves for bags etc. Small gift shop inside for some souvenirs. Parking is free if you decide to drive up yourself but I'd say take the shuttle, it's an easy and hassle free experience. Stay safe and have fun shredding!
