Way over priced for what you get. A suit for under $200 would be a decent price but for more than…read more$300 look for somewhere else to stay. The rooms are dated and from the late 90s/2000s, which in itself isn't terrible. However the magnet door cards that can't hold the door unlock info are not. We went through 7 cards on our three night stay. Also the hotel doesn't not offer or let you know about having your room made up. With multiple people staying in a suit at the very least you think they would drop off towels and coffee, this is not the case. Even if you request to have your room made up they will not do it. If you want towels, toilet paper or coffee , get it yourself with the attitude to match. Pool is small and only one of the hot tubs was working. AC needs a cleaning as we all left with a cough and stuffy noses that went away when we were out of the room. Upon check out the staff cannot even be bothered to ask how was your stay, it's like they already know.

We had a 1 bedroom unit and it was nice but very basic. We found the bed to be very uncomfortable and it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. When we were there in June it was very quiet and there weren't many other customers. The restaurant on the premises is now called Buckhorn and Main and it is a decent restaurant. They have coffee in the lobby during the day and my husband said it is very good coffee. My husband is a golfer and we were offered a special rate if he played 1 round of golf on their golf course. I enjoyed having TV's in both the living room and bedroom. We could both enjoy our own programs in the evening.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Keep in mind that this is not a top notch hotel, but for a…read morerelatively spacious room for the night, full bath, microwave, mini-fridge, cable tv (hello re-runs of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown!), and coffee machine for relatively cheap, this place is great. We had a little bit of trouble finding it based on Google Maps, but if you're heading up the main ski resort hill road, you'll hit a fork in the road with the small grocery/alcohol store in front of you. Go left. Turn into parking lot #2 and the Slopeside Lodge is the end. The first two rows are reserved for hotel guests and they will give you a dashboard pass when you check in. I got the impression that they only have rooms with two double beds, no single queens or kings. You can totally fit two people on each bed, but it was definitely more comfortable since we each got our own bed to ourselves. Beds come with two different-softness pillows and the mattresses are on the hard side, which I prefer. There is a dresser as well as an open closet area to hang up clothes. Rooms are relatively sound-proof, but I don't think the hotel was a full capacity when we stayed there. I know there were people in the room next to us, but we never heard them or even heard their door open/close. The lodge has a really nice and cozy family room-style lounge on the main (second) floor, with a tv and lots of books, as well as an open air lounge area on the third floor. There are two small hot tubs on the ground floor that can quickly get filled up as the capacity of each is 5 people. Note that there is no restaurant on-site, so they are not licensed for alcohol consumption in these public areas. There is a vending machine on the first floor near the exit. The lodge is ski-in, but not ski out, as you will need to hike up a bit to get to any of the lifts. There are ski equipment lockers for each individual room. All staff members were really nice and accommodating, including rummaging around for glasses (vs the plastic cups available in the room) so that we could drink our wine (they found one tumbler, and one wine-like glass, and gave us a little rag with dish soap squirted on it). Overall, we really enjoyed out stay. It was no frills but it was clean and had what we needed.

When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised it is definitely not a 2 star but in my opinion a definite 3 star hotel. As the last review stated it is ski in but a very short hump up to the lifts. Has 2 hot tubs that we never ran into any other people at, the hot tub areas also had 2 bathroom/showers in the area and towels. The hotel is older but well maintained & decent appearance, large rooms with 2 queen beds, large closet, 6 large hooks along the entrance wall, good sized bathroom with shower/bath combo, coin operated washer/dryers, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pots supplied with caffeinated and decaf coffee, large dresser and daily housekeeping. Also had a great view. It's about a 10 min drive to downtown Fernie with several great restaurants. This place is a gem! Would definitely stay here again. Only wish the weather prediction was a lot more accurate as it kept saying sunshine and we skied in a cloud with horrid visibility for most of the time.

We stayed here 4 nights for a June wedding…read more The value was incredible. It was approx $120 a night which is pretty average but you get a full condo suite. Kitchen, dishwasher, fridge- it was very easy to buy groceries from the store and make meals at home. We had a rental car, and it is only a short drive in. Has a small balcony. Our balcony was at the back of the building, looking at the front of another complex, but you could see the mountains from the side. My parents had a larger balcony facing the front which overlooked the parking lot, but had a very nice view of the mountains. My parents balcony was also larger with 4 chairs (I think because their suite was also attached to another one). The bathroom is phenomenal with a large soaker tub in the middle, and a very large separate rain shower. Pressure and heat was excellent. Very comfortable king sized bed with perfect black out curtains. Pillows were not the best, typical hotel style. The air conditioner was not running all the time, but when it did it was moderately noisy. We also found it was quite noisy after we used the soaker tub and shower. Pipes? The living room had a nice fireplace. Couch was average in comfort for it also being a pull out. TV in both living area and bedroom. I was definitely wowed by how beautiful and well maintained the suite was. The resort also has a small pool and hot tub. The pool is heated which is nice, and we went down a couple times. It was never busy we were always the only ones there. The hot tub was unfortunately closed the entire time we were there. It had been closed already for almost a couple weeks as they were waiting for a part to arrive. We were hoping it would open before we left but it didn't. The fitness centre was also closed and we were unable to use that as well. I have to say I was really excited for the hot tub so it was a bit of a let down. Then, on the night of the wedding BC Hydro shut down electricity for the town of Kimberely from 1am-6am. It ended up going slightly longer than that and we were unable to shower before we left for our long flight home. I get that this is beyond their control, but it really was bad timing. Overall, I was just really bummed that a lot of their resort features were unusable. There is a Montana's attached to Trickle Creek Lodge which is right beside Mountain Spirit. We had our first dinner there since it was so close by. There is also the Stemwinder Bar and Grill but it is only open for private events in the summer. For a very fantastic meal definitely check out The Old Bauernhaus which is only a 3 minute drive. Absolutely fantastic food and drinks. Overall I would recommend Mountain Spirit if you are in the area and I would return.
