Food was flavorful, packaged well, and service was great! The location itself was very cute with the creative interior artwork.

Great coffee, pastry and service. Very nice space, I dug the mural on the wall and the Caribbean vibe.

The good thing first- the line goes through fairly quickly considering how busy they were the day I was there, Sunday July 19, 2026, and parking was plentiful. Service was fine, cleanliness was good. The bad. Way overpriced for this region. There are plenty of bakeries in Puerto Rico offering the same things at half the price. The worst. The food quality sucked. Jugo de China Natural usually means squeezed to order. It was squeezed ahead of time and served with ice without being asked. Fresh squeezed orange juice is best served room temp. A good one will still be a little foamy on the top with very low acidity Ham and Cheese on Mayorca Bread- a staple of PR breakfast. Traditionally served pressed with a little powdered sugar on top that caramelizes a little because of the pressing. This one had a ton of floury tasting powdered sugar on the top and bottom of the top and inside the top and bottom of the bread, not normal at all. And for whatever reason, mine was served with the insides of the bread out side but I saw others that weren't served that way. So strange. And the ham was oddly pale. Also, no knives or forks to be found, so the extra sugar was extra confusing Quesitos- I ordered 4 to take out. I should not have. They went straight to the trash. The dough was severely under baked and soggy yet the filling was dry and crumbly without barely any sugar on top to offset the cream cheese. Arroz con Dulce- overly sweet and watery. Also went straight to the trash. Should be a little thicker from the starch of the rice combining with the sweet milk as it cooks. It tasted like they cooked the rice separately and then added cinnamon, evaporated milk and a ton of sugar without heating it. Not even a hint of vanilla to be found. For $44 dollars before tip. It was straight disrespectful to tourists and locals alike. I hope they improve because there is nothing worst than a popular spot resting on the laurels of a good location PS- The Habichuelas Escabeche were good.

Grabbed an iced latte and an iced tea to go: the latte was smooth and well-balanced, not over-roasted like a lot of tourist-zone coffee shops nearby, and the iced tea was refreshing after walking the cobblestone streets. The menu keeps it simple -- espresso drinks, paninis (Cuatro Sombras, Yauco, Viejo San Juan), open toast with avocado & egg or salmon, and a solid breakfast lineup with guava butter toast and dulce de papaya oatmeal that lean into the Puerto Rican flavor profile. Loved seeing local sodas and juices in the fridge case alongside the usual water and La Croix. Staff moved efficiently even with a small crowd at the counter. Good spot to duck into for a quality coffee break in Old San Juan -- feels like a real local roaster rather than a chain, and the space itself is worth a look even if you're just passing through.

Service was somewhat confusing... you have to order at the counter and then wait for them to call your name. They called our names a couple times but were not ready each time leading to our confusion. We ordered a latte and the croissant and both were delicious! Would definitely come back for this croissant!

Panadería España -- Food That Feels Like Home…read more This place was absolutely beautiful and honestly overwhelming in the best possible way. I don't even know how else to describe it. From the pastries, ceviche, sandwiches, soups, and coffee -- everything looked incredible, and I genuinely did not know what to order. I ended up ordering almost one of every pastry. The man helping me was so kind and patient, probably thinking "this tourist is ordering the whole bakery," lol. I explained that we were on our way to El Yunque, and he even recommended items that would hold up well in the car for a few hours, which I really appreciated. Then we ordered sandwiches and coffee -- a pastrami and a Cuban. Let me say this clearly: I LOVE a Cuban sandwich, and this was hands down the best Cuban sandwich I have ever eaten. Perfectly pressed, flavorful, fresh, and absolutely unforgettable. The coffee was delicious, fresh, and hot. We loved it so much that we went back again the next day for empanadas, pork soup, and chicken soup. Both soups were amazing, but the chicken soup was my favorite. It came with a few pieces of bread, and honestly... we need to talk about this bread for a second. It was light and crispy on the outside, soft and almost cloud-like on the inside, and the flavor was unbelievable. The hint of butter and garlic added such a perfect touch. And that chicken soup? It tasted like something straight out of someone's grandmother's kitchen -- comforting, homemade, and full of flavor. It felt like home in a bowl. Oh, and yes... I got another Cuban sandwich. If you are visiting Puerto Rico, Panadería España is a MUST. Come hungry because you are going to want everything.
