Definitely a pricey salon for a place that doesn't feel upscale at all. If I am going to pay good money I expect more than just a single process service or an ombre! It's called excellent customer service from the moment you step in to feeling invigorating from the second you leave. Not happening here ! Here's the real downer: The salon lacks professionalism from staff and especially from the owner. you would expect the owner or at least someone from upper management to be charismatic enough to walk around and greet all guests who come thru the door and carry somewhat of a convo but no! Here's a surprise: You do have interns working here so be careful who you deal with. The interns are guided by the stylist but you never know! Your hair may turn out blue ! Here's the truth: The stylist I do trust and perhaps the nicest, sweetest, loving person there is Jennifer D.S. Some of these reviews are silly. I for one do not care what the inside looks like (I went to nothing but cheap Asian salons my entire life), but I didn't see anything wrong with it, it seemed really nice to me. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted and had my coat taken and was offered something to drink. I noticed how perfect everyone's hair was and felt awful because here I was getting off of work (they got me in 30 minutes prior to calling) with my frizzy messy pink updo. When I had called prior they did ask which level of designer I wanted, I asked for anyone 3 and under ($60 and under). I was given my "designer" Danny. I explained to him that the most important part to all of my mess is my bangs, if my bangs don't come out right Ill be miserable. I showed him pictures of the bangs I've had and would like to stay with. I also showed him what my current "A bob" should look like. Told him that I didn't want more than a half inch cut off and crossed my fingers as he assured me he would do exactly what I wanted. I was then escorted to the shampooing station, where a girl shampooed and conditioned my hair while trying to make awkward talk every 5 minutes. The neck rest to the sink are beyond uncomfortable. I noticed she had a hard time combing my hair (naturally curly/wavy/wtf frizzy) and its a good thing I don't have a sensitive scalp and enjoyed the hair pulling. Back to Danny. Trim, trim, trimming away. He took off exactly how much I wanted. We talked about the product that turned my hair to mush (Soy-Plex hi-lift if anyone is interested) what brands and products I use on my hair, he recommend me a keratin treatment to help my hair that I bought for $20? I believe. On the bangs! The scariest of the scary. He told me to part my bangs how I usually do, then he showed me how much he was about to cut off and asked if that was okay. I agreed and snip snip. I asked for them to be a tiny bit shorter and he exactly did a tiny bit shorter. When they told me Danny was a level 2 "designer" I didn't really have high standards, I just went in with a "I need to do this" attitude. But overall Danny was very thorough, constantly asking questions, highly detailed. I've never met a stylist who did exactly what you asked for instead of what they think they should do. He did an amazing job and I'll definitely keep going back to him. read more

I visited the Salon last month for a color cut and blow, it was my first time and I will definitely be back! The hair dresser Nicole H, was great! She definitely did exactly what I asked for! She was able to remove the color off my hair and give me an entire new look! She was also very understanding of my Scalp condition (psoriasis) and used care with my scalp which is something hard to fine let me tell you!!! Her blow out rocked, it was fast and fabulous, I left feeling like a total rock star! The salon was very well kept and clean the rest of the staff was friendly although it was a tad busy when I first walked in but I wasn't left waiting for long so I appreciated that, overall I give my total experience a four out of five starts! read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! This is supposedly a Paul Mitchell salon. I originally found this place on Instagram. I was messaging with Nicole and she assured me she could do a balayage on my hair so I booked an appointment. It wasn't cheap either. For the one visit I paid almost $325. Well instead of it being blonde it came out brown and I complained to Nicole and she had a million excuses as to why it's was that way. After many complaints she said she will speak to her manager about fixing it. So we booked an appointment to correct it. Right before my appointment she tells me there will be another charge of $80 TO CORRECT HER MISTAKE. I gave them multiple attempts to do the right thing. Even asked for my money back. But they want to be the type of business that screws people over. If you like getting robbed and lied to this is the place for you. Went in here for a loose messy updo for my sisters wedding. Despite the fact that I showed up with several pictures and even extensions, I walked out with what appeared to be a bump it and a helmet head. Not even close!! I told them to add braids and this was completley ignored. When it was finished I almost started crying and the girl gave me major attitude. My first visit to Panico i needed my roots done. Instead of my roots matching the rest of my blonde hair, the stylist dyed them dark brown. NOT even close. My second visit to Panico I waited one hour and a half after my scheduled appointment. My third and final visit to Panico I wanted bangs and received NO bangs. Disappointed! I've been going here for a few years and my experience with Krysten is a hit or miss but usually a miss. Most stylists here are good with color in my experience but would not recommend Krysten for haircuts. She is scissor happy and literally took 2 inches off my length an layers which will take forever to grow back. Went here to get a my first ever balayage. There known as "masters of balayage" yet I did not receive a balayage. The hairdresser Nicole said I needed a glaze and a balayage so I did it. I told her I didn't want the balayage up to high. In fact I left with very thick awful highlights and lots of breakage. My hair looked very brassy at the place my hair that was supposed to be blonde was in fact grey.. she said after a few washes it would fade and that I needed to come back in 6 weeks. I paid almost $400 for a terrible service and breakage. After I went home a few days later I washed my hair and it was reddish orange so I messaged her she said she would try to speak to her manager to fix it then told me there would be a charge of $100 to fix there mistake then she said the $100 was only for a glaze how was a glaze going to fix any of that. I was there on May 3rd 2017 for a hair cut and a glaze (color). The color is fine. I had long hair, and I had asked Andrea Fresco to just cut 2 hinches of the length and trim the rest, including my bangs, which I like to wear it kinda long, at least under the eyes. She cut like 6 inches of the back length and gave me really short bangs, above my eyes! I can't hardly wear them on the side of my face. She was rushing at the end of the haircut because she was already late for her next app. Not to mention that I had to wait like 40 mins for my app. NOT professional at All !!!! I left my dingy old salon looking for an upgrade and I definitely found it! I went from a beat up old Toyota to a suped up Cadillac! This place is WELL WORTH IT! I have been going there 4 months now and Brianna is AWESOME! the whole place looks very upscale and its a spa like experience all the way. This review is based on my moms experience today, my mom has short hair and last year she got some botched haircuts and crappy hair colors until finally I told her to grow it out and let a real professional do it. Danny took care of my mom, he gave her a double process color took his time and gave her a bob just what she asked for. When she came out of the salon she was smiling and waving her hair back and fourth. I never seen her so happy with her hair then she was today, seriously looks like she was ready to go out on a date. I had grown my hair out to the middle of my back when I had finally decided to cut it into a bob. I had heard Tom at Panico did a awesome cut so I spent the $150 and went to him. BIG MISTAKE. I told him what I wanted and he did what he wanted - which included a mullet. I left the salon that day and he could tell I wasn't happy. I called back a few days later trying to be polite and flat told him - I have a mullet. He said to me, that's the style this summer and that he meant for me to have the mullet (since when did mullets come back...???). Anyway, I went back in and he trimmed off the mullet. It's been about two weeks and I am still a little bummed. The cut didn't turn out to be so bad, but I don't love it and I don't love it for $150. I got a haircut, about 4 days ago, by a stylist named Angelo. Typically I go to Alessandra- she is amazing but, lately, I work the exact opposite shifts as her so I tried someone else. For a high level stylist, my biggest turn off was his attitude. I asked to trim the haircut and keep the shape. During my consultation, he instantly started questioning me about my color, mind you, I had it done two weeks prior. I told him I had it done two weeks ago... A full head of highlights and low lights. By the way, I have received compliments constantly about it but he kept saying, " I can glaze this and make it darker ... Think about it". During the cut, he asked who I go to for my cut and I explained Alessandra and my work situation... He made a sarcastic remark, "she's is much better than I am.. I only started a year ago" ( he is a level 5 or 6 and she is 3). At the end, an intern started blowing out my hair. Usually I would be ok with that except she clearly was very new... When she washed my hair she didn't touch my roots with shampoo and she persistently pulled my hair and got it tangled while blowing it dry...she kept looking confused and stopping to look around for Angelo For $100 haircut, it's really poor business to let a very new intern, essentially, play with my hair while you take break and then decide to come out and instruct her on what she was doing wrong and he redid it. Yes that is how assistants learn but you should ask if I am ok with that considering she was so confused as to why he left her. When done, he pushed the color on me again! Now for the clincher, I work in the industry and I am licensed. Upon getting home, my boyfriend made a comment about the length and the back being "different". I began checking my layers and they're very short pieces way above my occipital bone while my cut is considered a long bob; this has also been brought to my attention by the girls I work with (also licensed). In the end, I would have never wrote this had the gentleman been more polite and less pushy. Alessandra's combined skill, decorum, and class would outshine a snarky level 6 or 5 stylist. It is straight up rude to comment, repeatedly, on a service that a client has just recently received, especially if they blatantly say they're not interested in changing the "look". I told him my highlights were light because I was in the sun Memorial Day weekend and I'm ok with that. Mind you, the only compliments I have received are on my color and not the cut... read more

Dealt with Andrea M. and while I thought I was supposed to be the client, turns out she was spinning all her drama on me once she found out I was a therapist! The colors were off because she was distracted due to complaining about her coworkers and other clients personal details. She's new and not professional. Also, she commented on the weight of another client very close to us. Really? I get that you had a baby not too long ago, but really? Pot meets Kettle. Then I remember I saw her before! At Bangz Salon before she got fired. How does she get work? If I actually KNEW it was her I'd be getting set up with, I'd rather have just paid the money and walked out. Never again! read more

In response to Nathaly's review.... I have been a client of Jen's for 4 years now. I know when I go to Panico, the price I am paying is for the service and the stylist's expertise. Not the decor, location, or weather or not someone has a conversation with me. As for Jen my stylist, I would go as far as to say that she does much more than just "play it safe". Jen has done it all from a short bob, various hair coloring, to great lengths extensions. I have been happy with the finished product every time. Jen has pushed me to try styles I would never imagine on myself and she nailed it every time. I have also had interns who assisted her with my hair coloring and my hair has never turned out blue. Interns are trained and always supervised, not just a random off the street. I think before labeling a stylist as just "safe"; you should be more knowledgeable about the all the services they offer. "Safe" is a stylist at Super Cuts, which seems more like the price point your going for. read more

I almost never right reviews but I'm pretty upset. I had a color in my hair that I wanted to get out and I went to Panico because I've heard good things. I go in and the girl who does my hair is amazing I think her name was genel (idk how to spell) and everyone was so sweet. I was not guaranteed the color would come out which is understandable but I was given a dark glaze to match my natural and told to come in about a week later to get another glaze if I didn't like it and they wouldn't charge me. I was under the impression that if I didn't like it I would get another glaze I did not know it had to be within that week. I mean regardless if a customer doesn't like the service they shouldn't get charged. Anyway the color starts fading at week two, it looked fine before then and I call to get it fixed and they said I had to be charged. I have literal blue coming out if my hair. It's just frustrating to pay so much and you don't like it and have to repay for what you wanted all over again. :( read more

Recently, I had walked into Panico salon on a whim to see if I could possibly get squeezed in for a blow out. Sure enough, I was quickly accommodated and had a wonderful wash with a massage and then a blow out by Jacqueline S. I was very impressed by her ability to give my straight hair some body and bounce with just a blow out. Fast forward to last week, I scheduled an appointment to have Jacqueline color, cut and style my hair and change up my style a bit. I am happy to say that the color was brightened with a scattered bunch of highlights around my face, I was give an easy to manage cut without a major loss of my hair length, and best of all a new way to "do" my hair for those nights that I want something different. I am happy to say that I get complimented on my hair frequently and that lately people not only notice my "new" hair but take the time out to say how great it looks. I noticed a big improvement from last time I came -- It was super clean and had a larger ratio of staff on the floor. Looked like many interns. Actually my hair dresser was an intern too! She was very sweet and she seemed very knowledgeable with a great background in her field. What I really liked, was before, during, and after the process, the owner came over and what looked like tested her accuracy, as well as asked for my approval each step of the way. I am always weary of getting my hair cut and I had put it off for several months. I called on a whim because I was passing the place on my way home from west Caldwell and they were very polite, accommodating, and upfront about the price. With such short notice on my part I did pay $100 dollars because I was with one of their senior stylists, but I have to say that it was the best haircut I've had in years. Stephanie listened to everything I said and all of my concerns and gave me exactly what I wanted. She finished my entire blow out even though her next appointment was there and also gave me some great advice (turning the temperature on my chi down from 420 to 375). No matter how bad a mess someone else has made of your hair--Tom will eventually fix it. Trust me I am brutal on beauticians because I have gotten burned so many times. I came here with a bridal party for my sister-in-law's wedding last weekend and was so impressed by the talent of the staff here. All five of us (including the gorgeous bride!) were thrilled by the way that our hair came out - not one style was the same, yet we all had romantic, relaxed styles that were complementary and stayed in place all night. Daniella worked on my hair. I showed her a picture of a really simple braided style (half-up, half-down) and asked for relaxed curls.
