My 31 year old daughter was found to have a very large ovarian tumor. She was anxious and scared,…read moreas well as the rest of the family, afraid of the 'unknown' and the possibility of the tumor leaving her unable to have babies. She had a planned surgical admit for an urgent ovarian tumor removal and traveled to BSA Amarillo from New Mexico for surgery. Her surgery was performed by an expert in GYN Oncology, Dr T. Farzan. Her experience at BSA was AMAZING! Dr Farzan was so skilled, he removed the tumor mass in it's entirety, and was able to leave her with her other ovary and uterus intact! Sweet news! The personalized care delivered by the peri-op team, Anesthesiologist, Assisting MD, PACU RN's, and surgical Team on 3 C were amazing. As a retired nursing leader, I researched the hospital and provider, read the Leap Frog reviews, and am pleased to tell everyone that the care delivered exceeded the exceptional reviews! Thank you, J. Sanderson RN, BSN From Washington State

I would rate my experience as the lowest possible score. How would you rate a hospital that nearly…read morekilled your dad? I have never seen such horrible medical treatment and negligence and I so badly wish I could go back in time and never step foot in that horrendous place again. I'm sorry dad that we trusted that place to care for you and their incompetence took you to this nightmare. I will spend the rest of my life sorry that I helped you get there. The best part about that place is if by the grace of God you get out of there so you have a chance to recover from all of the unnecessary trauma they put you through. They have zero communication skills and do not follow basic standards of care. If anyone is reading this please run as far as you can from this place and do not let your loved ones go to the hospital. I have now heard horror stories from a multitude of people that say this hospital killed their loved ones or came close. How are they even still open?

This place seems to be a bit of an enigma. When I first looked it up several months ago I found a…read moreweb page for a menu but it hadn't been updated in a year or two. Just now I looked again and there's no sign of them even having a dining area much less, what the daily menu might be. Compare that to BSA where at any time you can look up their menu to see what they are serving. I went here a couple weeks ago about 5:30 p.m. which I thought would be a safe time, right in the middle of a normal dinner time. But they had very few offerings. There was a fairly extensive salad bar so that's what I got. Everything else except for maybe pizza seemed to be closed for the day. I think someone told me those foods are only available until 2:30. But as I was leaving I saw people lined up to order hamburgers from the grill so that information given to me must have been incorrect. I could have gotten a hamburger or something instead of, or to go along with, my salad. The salad itself was perfectly good. Certainly not gourmet, nor did I expect that. I have noticed that all hospital cafeterias seem to serve food that I do not personally consider overly healthy, laden with chemicals, preservatives, fillers and excessive salt and sugar. I would expect better from a hospital than from a restaurant. At BSA they definitely have a 10% senior discount. At Northwest there didn't seem to be any such thing and I think I did remember to ask about it but the employee was far from friendly and pretty much ignored my question. I was charged by the pound for the salad and it came to $8. I just noticed at the top of the receipt it says the Blue Point Cafe so I will try googling that to see if any more information comes up. The foods on the menu that sounded good would only be available at lunch time I guess. I didn't get a picture of the salad bar but I did get a picture of my actual salad. It was a warm enough day that it did hit the spot. I love desserts but none of theirs looked appealing enough to buy. A different person might find something they liked though. If you happen to be visiting someone in the hospital then I'm sure this place would do the job. I do think that the employees need to be a little more welcoming. I realize it's not a restaurant but basic human decency says people should be pleasant and friendly and helpful to each other. The people at BSA have always been so to me. I can't help but compare the two since they are both hospital cafeteria type places.

Her name is Stephanie Miller. i told her that my husband had to go pee and she said when the nurses come back she will send them in there. i told my husband what she said and he said he couldn't wait (his bladder is not strong like it used to be) he is a 66 yr old man. so i told her he said he would use an urinal, and she got mad and slammed down her phone and got up and said something like he needed to be patient. she came in the room went to cabinent and got a urinal for him and left all mad. i told her if i knew where they were i would have gotten it for him. A Dr is suppose to be compassionate and understanding, not mad because her patient needed to use the bathroom. she acted like it was beneath her to help him. her priorities are all messed up!
