There is a dike that cuts off the shallow end of the lake when the water level is low. It's cold clean waters are fed from an underground spring. It used to be a great spot for fishing, but now it's just ok. Navajo is a great spot for kids, though. It is mostly hatchery fish with very little hold over fish. I have been catching a lot of chubs up there the past few years and that seems to slow the fishing down. There is a "hot spot" if you rent a boat. I don't need to tell you where it is, you will see all of the other boats there. It also has a bike trail that goes around the lake that seems to be pretty popular. Early morning and late night, a worm or power bait will do the trick.

What a beautiful short easy hike located in Duck creek village in Utah. The views on this hike are…read moreso pretty and serene. It also looks across toward Zion National park. The hike will lead you along the canyon rim to a beautiful waterfall. There is a nice platform above the waterfall to take some nice scenic pictures. The hike only takes about an hour round trip. Plenty of parking at the parking lot and they also have restrooms as well. Steep drop offs along this hike so please be careful with little children.

We stayed at the North campground for three nights and then the overflow area for two. There are a few other camping areas as well, there is a south, and then at least two or three additional camping areas near by. I found them all when I got lost hiking around. The camp spots are not all created equal, some a far better then others, and without knowing the area first, you can't possibly know if your getting a quality spot. We reserved a space before we left. When we got there, we found that the place that we had reserved, did not have a flat space for a table next to the RV spot, we would have to hike up and down a little hill to get to a table every time we wanted anything. It just didn't work for our style of camping this time around. We spoke to the camps hosts and they let us switch spots to another open one with no problem. The next plot fit our requirements much better. Although its good to know that not all spots have a water spicket. Each lot does have a fire pit area with a flip style sort of grill, but no BBQ's. There are bathrooms, just toilets, the hand sinks don't work because they say they are trying to conserve water (although I just found that really odd, because I would just go to the spicket and wash my hands). The bathrooms are clean, and well maintained. Also, the lake was not very yielding. You had to throw back anything under 17", which was everything that was caught by my group. All in all, it was a fun, quiet place to go and I would recommend it to any outdoor lover. Next time I go, I will be tent camping and I will probably stay at the South campsite for that.

First off, if you're on the fence about going, DO IT! This is a beautiful summer campground, we went June 8-10, 2018 and the weather was perfect. It did get a little cold at night, but nothing that our sleeping bags couldn't handle. The campgrounds here aren't too close together which I really appreciated, but some campsites are more shaded than others. I stayed in B loop, site #48 and it was conveniently located close to the restrooms (which are kept very clean) and the campground host, who sell firewood. People here were very respectful of the quiet hours which start at 10. Keep in mind that there are no showers at this campsite. Also, the picnic table and fire ring are on concrete which I loved SO much and it even comes with a stand for your portable stove and a place to hang your lantern. The campsite also has tent pads that they have leveled out which made sleeping very comfortable. However, the one thing I do regret is not bringing a hammock!! There are lots of trees here. This place is also walking distance to a small lake where you can go fishing and a short 4 mike drive to Duck Creek Village, which has a convenience store, small restaurants, and souvenir shops.

My family and I have rented boats from this business for at least a decade. Our yearly Father's Day…read moretradition included getting a boat from Dave at Rocky Point, the kids catching fish, camping...such a magical time for us, making memories that last a lifetime. This year everything changed. A trip that we looked forward to for a whole year was ruined, purely because of Rocky Point Boat Dock. We reserved a pontoon boat for $170 a day, $95 for a half day. When they pulled the boat up to us for us to get on, we actually thought it was a joke. This boat looked like it was neglected for years. Ripped seats, spider webs, the floor boards rotting with sharp pieces of wood sticking up. It was awful...but..they said there weren't any other boats available, so we got on and we're convinced we would have a good time. After 2 hours on the lake, the boat died. Wouldn't start (not to mention it never would go into reverse) We had to get towed back to the dock. They told us the boat needed a new motor and would be down for the rest of the weekend. My kids were broken hearted and in tears. They also told us they were aware the boat didn't work in reverse! (But never told us that) As we were KINDLY asking for possibly a new boat, a refund, something...the owners wife yelled at us and told us to stop complaining , stop stressing her out, and she actually told me to shut up. She did this in front of my young kids! On a Father's Day trip with their dad and grandpa! Now we were left without a boat for the remaining 3 days of our trip. The owner Dave, who over the years had become a family friend, wouldn't even look us in the eye, apologize, nothing! It was very sad to see a business that used to be so friendly and such a positive experience, decline completely. I'm all about supporting family businesses, but I just can't support Rocky Point anymore. They will lose a lot of our referral business as well. To sum it up..Bad customer service, dilapidated boats that don't work, and no empathy for ruining our trip. Stay away if you can.

There are three Emerald pools at different elevations, and so the best thing about this trail is…read morethat if you're tired after the first pool (the lower pool) you can turn around and feel pretty accomplished. I think a lot of people do this since the lower pool is definitely the busiest. There's also a neat little waterfall cascading into the pool, so my personal opinion is that it's the prettiest pool. The middle pool actually goes up to the sandstone shelf that creates the waterfall to the lower pool. It's pretty neat, although I didn't dare go near the edge as the rocks can be slippery, and I wasn't about to risk anything. The trail here is a little steeper than the trail to the lower pool. The upper pool is at the base of the grotto with sweeping cliffs. It does have some steps and a lot of sand. The sand can sap your energy, and I saw a few people needing to rest and gather their strength. The grotto was a bit flooded when I went, and so you might have to step on some rocks to avoid getting your shoes wet. I saw a bunch of ground squirrels frolicking around here. Overall, gorgeous and unique trail to hike in Zion!

I visited Emerald Pools at Zion National Park right before the 4th of July, and it was a really…read morenice stop to add to the trip. I only did the easier route to the Lower Emerald Pool, and that was enough for me that day since I did other trails like the Riverside walk. You can get there from the Zion Lodge shuttle stop, which is stop #5, so it's pretty easy to work into your day if you're already taking the shuttle through the park. The trail to the lower pool was scenic without feeling too difficult. You still get those beautiful Zion views along the way, and once you get closer to the pool area, the canyon walls and water make it feel really peaceful. The lower emerald pools is about .6 miles, 1.2 round trip. There are also Middle and Upper Emerald Pools if you want to keep going, but I kept it simple with the lower pool this time. I went right before 4th of July so the park was definitely busy, I'd recommend bringing water, wearing comfortable shoes and giving yourself extra time for the shuttle and crowds. I'm glad I did Emerald Pools. The Lower Pool was a pretty, easy hike and a great option if you want something scenic in Zion without committing to a harder trail.

A lot of thought and attention to detail went into putting this very comfortable and spacious cabin together for guests to relax and enjoy. Great place to bring your beloved furry friend with dog parks just steps away from your patio. Excellent WIFI and the bathrooms/showers are big and clean. The rec room is also great. My kids love hanging out in there playing games and listening to music. The Red Canyon portion is as beautiful as Bryce Canyon National Park. It's lesser known I think…read morebecause the visitors all swarm to Bryce, but I think it's a good thing too, which gives it a different vibe. Even if you don't stop to do any trails, the drive is gorgeous, with pull outs and shoulders to park at and gawk at the rock formations. (I'm not sure if you're supposed to be parking on the side of the road, but a lot of people were doing it!) There a bunch of informational signs outside the Red Canyon visitor center which provide information driving tours, hikes, ecology of the area, etc. From the parking lot are trail heads to hoodoo & birdseye trail, and also pink ledges trailhead. Of course, there's more to the national forest than the red canyon. There are high mountain forests and alpine lakes, which I didn't have the time to check out unfortunately. Next time!

Scenery ranges from desert canyon gorges of amber, rose, and sienna to high mountain forests, plateaus, and alpine lakes. The forest is a part of the world-renowned, with beautiful red rocks back drops scenery. Just amazing
