We stayed at the North campground for three nights and then the overflow area for two. There are a few other camping areas as well, there is a south, and then at least two or three additional camping areas near by. I found them all when I got lost hiking around. The camp spots are not all created equal, some a far better then others, and without knowing the area first, you can't possibly know if your getting a quality spot. We reserved a space before we left. When we got there, we found that the place that we had reserved, did not have a flat space for a table next to the RV spot, we would have to hike up and down a little hill to get to a table every time we wanted anything. It just didn't work for our style of camping this time around. We spoke to the camps hosts and they let us switch spots to another open one with no problem. The next plot fit our requirements much better. Although its good to know that not all spots have a water spicket. Each lot does have a fire pit area with a flip style sort of grill, but no BBQ's. There are bathrooms, just toilets, the hand sinks don't work because they say they are trying to conserve water (although I just found that really odd, because I would just go to the spicket and wash my hands). The bathrooms are clean, and well maintained. Also, the lake was not very yielding. You had to throw back anything under 17", which was everything that was caught by my group. All in all, it was a fun, quiet place to go and I would recommend it to any outdoor lover. Next time I go, I will be tent camping and I will probably stay at the South campsite for that.

Never got so close to nature while camping before…read more For my families annual camping trip, this location was chosen. We arrived early Friday morning and were able to grab campsites near each other that could occupy 30 of us. If you're into hammock'ing like myself, there are many trees up the hill from the campsites. Amanda and Dell did an awesome job helping us with anything we needed, showed us where everything was, and kept the sites including bathrooms really clean. The only thing they didn't mention was there were wolves in the area. (Story time!) On our last morning at 4am my cousin heard footsteps which he thought was our uncle. Turned out to be grey wolves bigger than the German Shepherd my cousin brought. The car alarm took a few trys for them to even budge. With our flashlights we were able to see 6 up in the woods. We then jumped in the car and left until sunrise. As for the fishing at Navajo Lake, we caught about 30 Chubs which we threw back and a few 10in Rainbow with our full day boat rental and 6 people. Worms were being hit more than power bait jfyi.

Parking spot at camp site and parking lots for extra vehicles. Fire pit and picnic table at camp site. I liked when we arrived my campsite said my name and arrival and departure dates. Close proximity to the lake and launch pad for boats. Cons: the weekend we visited it was warm. 80 during day and 40 at night. We got sun burned. Living in Vegas we are usto hot sun but not a sun so close like up on the mountain. This camp site and a few others had no shade. We had to go buy a canape to seek shelter from the sun. And when we did that we wanted to set it up in this one spot that was shady most of the day but there was a large pile of dry dead tree branches which was disheartening because fire level is at extreme. I'm not sure if we truly were allowed but the campsite host allowed small fires and was also selling fire wood. So we cleaned up and moved all the branches away from the area. Nothing like manual labor on vacation! I spotted a few other piles around our side of the compound. Camp site # 14 is along the road just a FYI. You can see the cars and trucks go by with out a guardrail but quite at night. Overall a nice peaceful place thank you!

Once we got there, a few things we amiss. Adults on the jungle gym, people walking around shirtless and smoking vapes. People having inappropriate conversations about private adult matters. And there were ZERO other children. Every parental nerve was standing on high alert. Come to find out, only after seeing a flyer posted on site, Zion Ponderosa was hosting an adult's only event. NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE was this listed. How dare you market yourself as a family friendly resort then host an event ON THE ENTIRE PREMISES intended ONLY for 18+ years. And because these were the only accommodations we made (we obviously didn't think we would need a plan B) every other accommodations were fully booked. Which meant, we drove all day for nothing. We planned and spent for nothing. Our kids missed their experience all because your resort mislead us by omitting very important details. So now we are driving home at night, past bedtime, disappointed, sad, and pretty livid. If you have an adults only event, POST IT ON YOUR WEBSITE, for those of us who are bringing minors. It's common sense and common courtesy.

It feels just as if you were at a friend's house BBQ cookout. The kids loved the fishing pond. There were plenty of fishes for them catch. They have a long zip line that runs above and between giant tree tops. I think the price was about $39. It was very inexpensive. If you are not the adventurous type, you can relax by the swing bench and enjoy the beautiful view, or explore the estate through the connecting bridges. A perfect place for the adventurous family. I recommend anyone driving between Zion and Bryce to make a stop at Mystic River. It is well worth your time!

We saw they had a fishing spot but didn't have time to try it. So, our second visit to the mighty five, we decided to try to fish here. There are two different set price, we wanted to catch so they can cook the fish we caught. The other price is to catch and release. Prices are in the pictures I posted. The first three minutes of fishing, we caught three fishes and thought that was enough. So then we tried the catch and release pole. The staff here were attentive and welcoming. They were very patient in teaching us how to catch and release. We brought a case of beer from a grocery store earlier and asked if we can drink, while we fish. They said they were okay with it, as long as we were respectful and discreet. :-) Overall, a nice and relaxing stop after sight seeing.

I did not otherwise stay here! -- The place is easy to find and rather big, but if you go into the main check in area, they'll direct you to where the shuttle pick up spot is. The staff are professional and friendly, and I ABSOLUTELY recommend using their shuttle if you are in anything other than a jeep perhaps because the road out to the trailhead is ROUGH. I read that online and it's very true; the shuttle costs $8 and they take you about 3/4 of the way there in a big van, but the road is so rough that last bit that even the van can't go there and you have to walk. If it's been raining, I also wouldn't even try coming out here because the roads become an absolute disaster. All this said, I had a good experience! They pick up and drop off every 30 mins and I didn't wait more than 10-15 mins for my pickup after finishing the hike. Would def use these folk's shuttle again if I was coming back out to obs point :)

As others have said, you get 2 queen beds and 2 breakfasts (meal + drink) at the diner for $100 total. The beds are comfortable... carpet, sheets, towels, AC unit, and bathroom are clean - you honestly cannot beat it. Breakfast at the diner was delicious - you have a choice from any meal on the menu - pancakes, steak/eggs, eggs/biscuits, etc. - we figured our breakfast would've cost $25-$30 (plus tip), but was included. The Harley Davidson/workshop theme was awesome and the signs around the room were super fun and unique. TV channel choices are minimal but good enough for background noise as you go to sleep. Hatch is a VERY small town... take an extended yawn at the wrong moment and you'll miss it. There are other, more organized-looking motels in the town, but also more expensive. As a result, this is a VERY laid back motel. You check in at the diner to pay your $100 and they have a handwritten list of who's checking in to what room. The key is in the door. Mike met us in the room for a brief overview. He was extremely friendly and pleasant but not overbearing. His number and the wifi information was painted on the wall. The wifi worked great for the night we were there. Mike made sure to let us know that he lived out front and to knock if we need anything - more coffee, towels, etc. (The room was excellently stocked, no need for any of that.) We were able to park directly in front of our room, which was nice. The two minor downsides were that you could hear road noise during the night (not overbearing, but you know it's there) and the bathroom is fairly small - so if you *have* to close the door, it requires a little gymnastics, but with the way the room is set up, it was no problem to leave the bathroom door open for the night we were there. It's no Hilton or Marriott, but for the price and location to Bryce and Zion, you honestly cannot beat the experience for the price.
