We both really enjoyed the fries, that were well seasoned in a savory and slightly sweet dusting. The abundance of fries was well appreciated as well. The beef sando was tasty and also a good portion. My only complaint was the thinly shaved beef was laid flat in layers instead of mounded on the sandwich (see pic). I hesitate to even say this, but it felt like I was eating Steak-umm. In general, the meal was good and filling. The service was good and value for price felt good.

Salt is what you use to compensate for your lack of understanding how to use other spices and herbs. Which is a shame bc the recipes already had other spices and herbs, and did not need the overabundance of salt. The waiter didn't give us plates with our appetizer and gave us our check without asking if we wanted desert. We had to ask for water refills. The prices were high enough to expect well prepared food and excellent service. They are close but the Chingona didn't deliver. Which is a shame bc the recipes themselves seemed quite good. The general consensus was that the food was very good and several of us commented that we will make The View Tap and Grill part of our regular restaurant selection. For my part I ordered Loaded Nachos for the table and an Original Burger for myself. The Original Burger might be the best plain burger in Central Oregon. It consists of a large perfectly seasoned patty of ground beef (probably 80/20 to provide the real hamburger flavor), a slice of tomato, and a slice of onion in a nice bun. The house made chips were crispy. On the downside, the Loaded Nachos did not live up to expectations because they were far from loaded and the cheese was cold. The menu was small; but, there are at least a couple more items that I wish to try and I will definitely go back for another Original Burger.

The staff were super friendly and personable, if not for a tight schedule I could have spent the whole afternoon there with them. The bison burger I ordered was absolutely amazing. I care about what I put into my body, and the team there definitely matches that energy. Terra champions locally sourced, clean ingredients, and clean cooking oils (no seed oils!!). I want to love this local establishment in a historic building, but have been surprised by the poor…read moreservice twice now. The first time we ever went there we were mocked for not knowing how it worked. We were there for my son's 6th birthday, but luckily kids are oblivious to that. We tried again and had a much better experience checking in as it was with a different gentleman, but unfortunately, we had a negative experience leaving. Our child accidentally spilled some food and we apologized to a different guy as we were leaving and he rolled his eyes at us and said "Jesus." We felt awful. I work with the public and if I spoke to someone like that, I would be fired. Anyway- I want to love it, and the building was beautiful and felt clean, but we can't justify going back.
