Just left the Tomball Panera. There was no tea, no chips and not even any napkins. The employee finally went into the bathroom and rip off pieces of paper towel to give to patrons to even wipe their hands while eating. The food was ok. Not good, not bad. Just meh. The employees were just kids. No leadership. We asked for a mgr. Nope. Asked for the franchise owner's info- they said they never see him. There were only like 3 customers but there was one older guy in the restaurant who was adding up store receipts. He watched us as we left. He was probably the owner. Too bad. Panera Bread Tomball. One star is too much. This restaurant branch is an absolute disgrace to the Panera Bread brand. The short of it: This TOMBALL restaurant needs to be closed down, after management are sued for despicable neglect, knowingly having dirty food service under horrendous disgusting dining room conditions. Never in my 30 years of being in the Houston area have I seen such a truly, absolutely filthy restaurant; which was EMPTY, save my son and I and a couple of other people who left before us also complaining. It was Sunday at 6.30 pm you had 6 staff that I counted, maybe more! The dining room was littered with stale food and brown stains from the floors, walls, even the food service areas. The restroom had broken feces stained toilets, missing wall soap dispensers, a filthy stained sink which would have taken weeks to get in such a state yet only an hour to scrub clean. I am deeply shocked by the unhygienic food service areas, dirty handed staff and grubby dining room was littered with old stale food pieces stuck to carpet and tile floors and inside the dining booths. It seemed to be like visiting a college dorm, somebodies personal doss-house or rental they really don't care a damn about, there were two lap top computers, back packs and sprawling personal area set up for the lazy staff while NOBODY WAS CLEANING. We ordered soup, it was consistent with Panera Breads taste, I have nothing to say other than this branch is nothing like any of the others. SHAME on you for ignoring cleaning duties and the unkempt manager who when I looked her dead in the eye and kindly said our soup was fine but her store was dirty - she dismissed me with one sentence and a nasty glare allowing her staff to giggle and stand around doing absolutely nothing. The restaurant appeared to have many staff all standing around taking, laughing and doing nothing to upkeep sanitary eating conditions. Like others I like Panera Bread, but this location needs some help. On multiple occasions I've received cold coffee, and even got a cup that had a ton of grounds in it. I came at 5:30 pm, wanted to stay longer with hot drink in cold weather so I ordered coffee because it was still available on menu. I should have known that it is no longer fresh and hot. I would like to be taken off the menu if no longer available instead of charging full price for cold coffee. Staff could told me that... please let customers know in future. Other items I ordered was ok with no problem. I just thought management should know about menu and availability conflict. Table says "for your safety, this table is cleaned and sanitized frequently". This place has a great atmosphere. Casual chic is how I would describe it. To most people they would just think it is a bakery, but it's much more. They have sandwiches, soups and delicious salads, as well as yummy pastries. Sometimes I do stop by for a loaf of the sour dough bread to take home. And another good thing is the cinnamon crunch bagel -- it is like a sweet roll and is awesome heated up. During the fall, try the squash ravioli. This place is ridiculous. One, the place is always dirty. Two, they mess up your order every time. Three, some of our groups have tried to meet once a week and they have had multiple bad experiences. Like not making coffee when that "are going to close soon". Soon was in two hours. And recently today, 30 minutes after they were suppose to be open, they wouldn't open the doors. My family and I went into this restaurant one night, they were out of almost everything...even the bread...The workers are absolutely horrible. The manager Julie was the only person who gave my family and I respect in this restaurant. The girls working made our food poorly. My Mac was ice cold, my Mom's sandwich contained meat and mayo, my brothers salad had no dressing, and my dads margarita flatbread had no basil. And when we asked for help they looked like us like we had poop On our head. We love panara and this experience made us very sad. Was prepared to write a helpful review but just read through some reviews and looks like plenty of people beat me to it but here's another one anyway. Literally worst Panera I have been to. Orders are consistently wrong like every time. But I can do the same order and the spring cypress location gets it right 9 out of 10 times. This place gets its wrong 4 out of 5 times. The other day they got my order wrong twice when I called the lady is like you want us to re do it. I'm like why so you can get it wrong again besides I have to go back to work. Ordered a tuna salad sandwich with no onions via rapid pick up and as you can see I got a dab of tuna with onions. The two people who were suppose to be checking the order were more interested in each other than doing their job (I know this as I was standing there waiting for them to put the order on the shelf). Returned the sandwich to the manager who wanted to make me another sandwich. Sorely dissatisfied as I have now had to return a sandwich and have lost more time and he thinks oh we will make you another sandwich and all will be good... wrong!!! My time is just as valuable as theirs and I paid for the service for a reason!! This is the second occurrence with this Panera and we are done. If I were you I would avoid this location. The store manager is allowing confirmed positive covid employees back to work before they get a negative test. They are recommended by a the cdc to no return to work before 14 days with a negative test, but she tells them that they have to or they will lose their jobs. If they are allowing positive Covid employees back to work then these employees are like to spread Covid to other employees and to the customers. They also are not enforcing the employees to ware their make properly, I have seen several employees ware the mask is only covering half their face or not warring one at all. read more
