I love Panera but this location does need improvements. The way the orders are given is a bit unorganized especially with covid right now you had to touch and see if it's yours. Also, it wasn't really busy at all and the wait was a bit too long for how slow customers were. This morning I went through the drive through and for the SECOND time they forgot to give me cream cheese (THAT I PAID FOR) with my bagel. Now I'm at work with no way of going back to get it. I have been to this location twice within 2 days and I got the French toast bagel. I must say that it is the bomb!!! I got it the first time because they ran out of plain bagels, so I gave it a try so glad I did. I got the honey walnut spread it really complements the French toast flavor. I think almost every single order of mine gets messed up. I understand we are all human and make mistakes but EVERY TIME?! And if mine is getting messed up so frequently, I'm not the only one. This has been ongoing for at least 7 or 8 months and I am surprised corporate hasn't stepped in to do something about it because it has to be costing them money. I am always getting a comp meal ticket or a refund or extra food to compensate the errors. That has to be costly because again, it cannot just be me. I have now gotten into the habit of literally opening the bag after they hand it to me and inspect it right then and there before I even pull away from the window. So many times I have not and had to go park and go in. (Which is sometimes very hard because the parking lot is always packed) Who decided this was a great location for a Panera with a drive thru? I love Panera but I am not sure if its worth it any more to keep dealing with mistake after mistake. I need to find the next closest location. I like Panera bread but every time we come to this location the service is terrible, the line is unorganized and it takes forever to get your order. We came here today and ordered a bagel pack and waited over 25 min for bagels after we paid for them, ridiculous and totally unorganized. read more

Went drive thru this evening at 755 pm, cashier/server very rude. No please, no thank you in her vocabulary. Has no business serving people . Other matter that is worrisome, is the fact that person served people with gloves that opened the window, took a payment , touch her headset, the counter top, prepared a salad and put her gloved fingers inside the salad to push the food in the container , cut the bread and packed all this in a bag . In other words, that pair of gloves must be filthy and this is how we were served. I was ready to say something because i was watching all this very clearly thru the window. My daughter stopped me stating that '' they will spit in your food or else ". I do like Panera's food, but it is so expensive!! Also, I agree with the other yelp reviews on here, the parking lot is a nightmare!! When you turn in off of Calumet, you have to be careful of ice (causing your car to slide) in the winter and people (walking around) in the summer. They are also always closed it seems like. I work 12 hour shifts and when I get off to get some food, this location will seriously close the drivethru a good fifteen minutes before the actual inside restaurant closes!! So I have to go through the drivethru (realizing its closed) then park, jump out of my car and quickly order inside the building before they close that too!! This is while people are still sitting inside, eating. I would avoid this Panera location if I didn't live so close. read more

Forgot the chicken on my Chicken Panini. I know this is not gourmet food, its really over priced fast food. The funny thing is that I think the young guy purposely did not put it on. Came into the store at 8:30 and you could tell everyone wanted to go home. The cashier was rude to my boyfriend and I. We then got our food and both our meals were screwed up. I ordered a modern caprese and they did not put any cheese on it, so basically I got burnt, dry bread with arugula and a few tomatoes. My boyfriend, who does not eat meat, got the Mediterranean veggie. To his surprise he found two pieces of chicken in his sandwich. It may not seem like a big deal to a meat eater, but it can make a vegetarian violently ill to consume meat in some cases. I simply love this location they know how to make you feel like family! I go on weekends and you see a lot of the customers there as well. Sometimes I go order lunch or dinner just to be in a great environment to write a report. There was a time that I was there and an elderly customer wanted to know about a particular soup. Scott the Manger went and got them the soup to their surprise and they looked at me and asked "Are they always this nice here". I have tried this Panera many many times as it is much closer than the one on Indy blvd. The problem is they always mess up the order and the food is below par. I have yet to have a bad experience at any other panera... However this one is ALWAYS having problems. Be it drive thru or in store, I've yet to have a correct order and meal that is up to par. They are always either forgetting drinks or getting the order wrong. When you ask for something simple like no tomatoes they'll put tomatoes on and forget the bravo sauce. It's bad. They are also out of almost everything almost all the time. It's easier to ask what they have (nothing...) than to try and order 5 different meals before being told they have absolutely none of them available. Time and time again. This location deserves more than 5 stars. I placed my order on the kiosk accordingly and they accidentally put chicken on my order. The manager, Jane, immediately sent my order back and replaced it with the way I wanted. Another manager delivered my corrected order to my table and offered us drinks or pastries from the bakery. Why cant they get a simple order correct. I have ordered many times from here and more times then not the order is missing something but its always charged and paid for. In the store the tables are always dirty and you will have to ask someone to please clean one you want. My favorite is that tonight I tried calling the store to let them know we are missing a salad on a delivery order and I cant even get through to the store it says they are having technical difficulties and re routed me to customer care where Ive been on hold for about 40 minutes now. I've gone to this Panera location multiple times in the last couple weeks, and have had good experiences every time. The counter staff was friendly and acknowledged me a second after I came through the door. The woman who took my order (Erika) was pleasant and prompt; my food order came up exactly as requested, with the quality exactly the same as other Panera locations. The new location sports an upscale decor compared to many other Panera locations, including electrical outlets (for computers) strategically placed. Also, the restroom was clean - not a given at many restaurants. I'll return here again! read more

I went through the drive-thru and was immediately told they were out of a lot of stuff due to a large breakfast crowd coming through. The only thing I could get was an Egg and Cheese on Ciabatta. I love Panera - they have a very healthy menu and a good variety of coups, salads and sandwiches. I love their turkey paninis. They have a great "you pick two" deal where you get a cup of soup and half of a sandwich. It's my favorite lunch. The only downfall is the prices are a little higher than fast food or subway, for example, but the food is delicious. I also love the staff at this location. They got to know me pretty well at one point and knew the specific drink I wanted (acai berry tea with a splash of lemonade!). read more

I love Panera Bread food. I order the same exact carry out and delivery order from the Munster, IN location at least 3-4 times a week through the online app. Unfortunately, the order is wrong just about half of the time. I have always showed great patience as I take the order back to be corrected. In fact, they usually make up for it by giving me a coupon or refunding my order. The one good thing I was able to say about their service is that my order was always ready and on the shelf at the time the app said it would be. Well not anymore. Every time I go there lately, I wait 10-15 minutes past the time it was supposed to be ready. I am fed up now after standing in there for 20 mins and watching people stand in line, order, and receive their meal while I'm still waiting. Many other people were standing around in the confused mess waiting for their pick up orders as well. And I won't even get into the mess out in the parking lot. I had to leave this time without my meal and no time, nor desire to complain. They can keep my money. I will never go back there. I'm not giving up on Panera Bread- just THAT location. read more

Nice looking place. Comfortable with free wi fi Tasty bread and bagels-a little pricey. Pastries seem always dry. French bread tasty-need another piece with soup, but they charge for it. The sourdough bread makes very nice toast in the morning. Now that I think about the bread, when fresh, 4 th star is awarded. Nice place to meet someone for a snack. Patio nice as well. Service has been hit or miss for me. Hazel nut coffee, when fresh in the morning is very nice-not a common coffee to find served. The parking can be a hassle, especially at prime times. They did try to work out a deal with Arnie's hotdogs, to move their shop over some, and share the additional parking, but Arnie's did not bite on the deal!!! LOL read more

I've always been a fan of all things Panera; great soups, salads and sandwiches, but have bought 2 dozen bagels for Bagel Tuesday the last several weeks and its like I'm pulling teeth when I'm ordering, whether its on the phone or in person, I feel like its a major inconvenience to whomever is taking the order and it takes forever! and of late, Panera has had issues with cream cheese on a national level and most of the time, they don't have cream cheese.
