Can't talk about any food, service, or ambiance this trip due to lack of food I got to eat. Not sure what's going on with this Panera because it's usually the best one around but tonight it's definitely one star and this is the second time this month I had been here but and that's why they are getting a bad review. I waited 35 almost 40 minutes for a dine in order and as I'm waiting all the people who came after me and drive through were getting theirs. Was not good. We went today. I ordered the Fromage Croissant sandwhich. The sandwhich was very poorly put together. They forgot the arugala as well. I immediately pointed this out to the staff who then had to talk to the manager. The manager then handed me a cup of arugala so I could disassemble my already poorly put together, soggy sandwhich and add the arugala. Why they did not offer to remake the sandwhich properly was beyond me. They also forgot to give me a fork and knife. The manager was nice. But the food was not good. I used to go through the drive-through often because I work nearby, but I think I'm going to need to go elsewhere for lunch. I literally can't remember the last time they got my order correct and actually had what I wanted. It's usually some combination of: 1. Not having the listed ingredients available (once they were completely out of SALAD which covers half of their menu; I wish I was kidding about this) 2. Not including all the listed ingredients on the item (I don't know the last time they remembered to put avocado on a sandwich or salad; at this point, it has to be an intentional cost-cutting measure) 3. Being charged for something you didn't order 4. Not getting the entire order in the bag 5. Not getting utensils, napkins, or both For lunch today, though, they really outdid themselves and filled the whole bingo card! If I were granted three wishes from a genie, one of them would be for a Time Machine to take me back to when Panera was actually good. Another would be for a second chance with my ex wife but that's beside the point. The portions are less than ideal, the sandwich has so much mayo I thought maybe it was going to explode, and the soup was not as thick and delicious as I once remembered. First of all, the lid of my Mac and cheese was removed and it is now cold and stale, the cheese solidified. Secondly, it is so so frustrating that I have never been given the appropriate amount of food from Panera that I have ordered, especially for the prices. This salad is not even half full in the HALF salad container!!! It also is not romaine lettuce it's mixed greens. It looks as if someone pinched some leaves and placed them in there. If you have ever driven on highway 15, you either love it or hate it. Even after all of the improvements, I still fall in the latter category. I'm not really into scenic highway travel. The building is brand new. The staff was very kind and helpful and the food, although standard, beats the neighboring commercial fast food chains. My wife and I were at Walmart shopping and she said she was hungry, Perkins had just closed for the night so I asked her where she wanted to go. She said Panera. I was okay with that as I had never been there. We got there about 8:10 pm, the sign said that they were open until 9:00, so we went in. While we were looking at the menu board, there were approximately 5 or 6 employees standing in the front just talking. No one said anything to us, they would look at us and go back to their conversation. That being said, after waiting a few minutes and not even being acknowledged I was not happy ( my wife is more patient). I could understand if they were busy, but we were the only ones there. Finally she said let's go, and we left. As we were walking to our vehicle, a couple of them were looking out the windows and laughing. Whatever they are being paid is too much! How this establishment only has three stars is an utter disgrace and is truly shocking to me. Granted, the food is mediocre at best, however it is the ambience, atmosphere, and light music in the background that is at the perfect level that makes this place so spectacular. The level of detail is superb. Like they must have been done some serious experimentation to get this music at such a point. You don't know it is there until someone points it out, and when you do notice, it's such a pleasant surprise. I went to the drive through and ordered 50$ worth of food, after the food taking an incredible long time to make I arrived home to see that none of it was what I had ordered and items were missing. I called back to tell them of this and they offered me three "coupons" for "you pick-two" however, I never ordered a you-pick-to and the coupons would not nearly amount to what I spent there. The manager told me I could not receive a refund nor could they deliver me my food that was all wrong, I was told the coupons was the best that they could do. Stopped in while we were driving on vacation. We were the only customers in the building. The cashier was extremely rude! We waited for over 15 minutes for our food. I'm a loyal Panera fan, but unfortunately, my local Panera is the worst I have ever experienced. I probably eat here once or twice a month. I always get the Green Goddess Cobb Salad (which has become my favorite salad of all time), and this Panera manages to mess up my order every single time. The last time, they forgot the boiled egg. The time before that they forgot the pickled onions. Before that they used romaine lettuce instead of the greens mix that includes arugula and kale. And before that they left out the bacon. When they first opened, I blamed all of the mistakes on it being new and having inexperienced staff. But it has been a few years now, and things haven't improved. The drive-thru is still incredibly slow, also. On the plus side, the staff is very friendly and the space is always clean! I just wish they could put their menu items together correctly and consistently. The Buckhorn Panera doesn't seem to have the same problems. read more
