It's been probably a decade and a half since I've been to a Panera. I used to live very close to one, and back when I worked at the bank our regional manager would always bring Panera bagels in for our monthly meetings. I was actually tasked with bringing snacks in for the faculty at my daughters school and decided to bring in bagels, memories from when I worked at the bank. While I was browsing and placing my order for tomorrow I decided I wanted to go there today! My daughter and I arrive in the drive through and I honestly didn't know what I wanted. We took a minute looking at the drive through menu but there is SO much on that menu that it was a bit overwhelming so we started looking through the app (that I had downloaded a few hours before). After we placed the order it was done in like 3 minutes tops. The look of the building and the parking lot looked really nice and well maintained. Overall I spent $30 on two drinks, two soups, and two cookies. I still think that their prices are a little steep. The cookie itself is almost $5 and a drink that I would consider a size small is over $3. And the soup bowl is $8. Good for a treat but would get rather expensive if you were picking this up on a regular basis. The opposite end of this is that I ordered 4 dozen bagels for less than $50, so in that sense it was rather affordable. They also have a sip club where you can spend $15 a month and get unlimited self serve beverages. That is something I thought about for a bit because I do really enjoy a fountain drink, lemonades and such... but I wanted to try it out before I decided on that. read more

There's never a long wait. The employees are nice and the food is great. I never had a bad meal here. We love to go to Panera.

These salads are soo good. You can choose a salad off the menu or customize your own. They have several options for toppings and dressings!

The service was fast and efficient. My meal was delicious and as a repeat customer I've found Panera Bread to never disappoint.

Waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes just to be told that "they're really behind and can't take any more drive thru orders." It really wouldn't take much effort or decency to notify the people waiting in line instead of wasting their time. This was during the daytime, and it's not like I showed up right before closing expecting to be accommodated. read more

The last 2 times i have ordered the green goddess cobb salad with chicken I have gotten NO CHICKEN. One of them even left off the onion all together when i ask for extra. And the dressing was italian not the goddess dressing. Ill give them a try once more without a mistake. But this is ridiculous especially with the prices. Placed an order online this morning for an Asiago Cheese Bagel, for my husband and 4 Cheese Soufflé for me. Received the bagel and a cinnamon roll. No cheese soufflé. Called store to have another delivered and was advised they didn't have anyone to deliver due to using a 3rd party delivery service. Done with Panera in EC. read more

Not happy with my experience. Sandwich had very little meat, soup was just ok. For the prices, seems you would get tasty food. Panera has young kids working there. My cashier was talking with another employee as she was waiting on me. It wasn't about work , it was playing around. I felt like ,"I was bothering them that she had to wait on me". People choose this place to spend their money, and have a treat for themself. I will not be returning. Of course, employees don't care if ya come back or not. But think about, employees. We ordered the Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad Sandwich through the drive thru got it home and was shocked by the amount of chicken on the sandwich, which was hardly any and there was more bread than anything! I immediately called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. She told me that they put the correct amount of 1/2 cup of chicken on it. So the picture you see of this sandwich on the menu is in fairy tales! Last food we got before this my hubby got no meat on his sandwich. So it's a bummer when your on your lunch hour and you get home and you get this. When I called them on that one she told me best she could do was remake the sandwich and we could drive to the other side of town to pick it up again! Wow!! At 12:30pm there was one cashier. The line grew to about 12 people at least. There was NO coffee in the carafes. The hot water carafe was NOT THERE AT ALL. when asked if they could open another register we were told he couldn't do that so we asked if there was a manager. He said there were THREE. I don't know if they were working but they obviously didn't know or care that people were waiting about 15 minutes just to order. Several customers were obviously on a lunch break. Had great experiences in past visits from this Elizabeth City location. Tonight ordered a Toasted Steak & White Cheddar sandwich and there was hardly any meat. My father's sandwich had a little more but not by much. Pretty chintzy for a $14 sandwich. read more

Had a great lunch here. The restaurant is very clean and I was also happy to see that it's up to par with others with the quick ordering self service kiosks. Some of the booths have power outlet to let you do some work on your laptop if you need to. The free wifi is also a great convenience and fast enough to watch live streaming sports broadcasts while you dine! I had the chicken pasta bowl with arugula...delicious! Portion size was good and filling! Next I also had a custom Caesar salad by my design that turned out excellent as well. Everything appeared and tasted fresh, including the baguettes. I ordered to go on the app and while it was a little confusing at first the service was fast. The food was great, no complaints.

Expensive and not worth it in my opinion. Plenty of places to have a sit down lunch for the prices they charge. I asked for lemon in my sweet tea and they put what looks like a whole lemon. There is nothing about Panera that I don't enjoy. Everything I've ever had is perfect and amazing quality. I've done the drive through when I just want to bring it home and the staff is super friendly and helpful and patient. When I've ate inside when I have time to kill the restaurant is clean and everything is neatly put away and the plates and silverware is clean. I've been a fan of Panera for years. I used to come a lot more often but it's still good. It's still one of the healthier options you can get fast. Right now you can get a free bagel everyday until the end of the year with your Panera rewards card. I usually get the broccoli cheddar or tomato soup. I've been here multiple times. Great soups and sandwiches. Recently I was very impressed with their new caprice sandwich. Always fresh tasting and a great mango smoothie as well. The staff will go out of their way to be helpful and make sure you're happy. Four stars because it's a little expensive and as a bread baker myself I think that all Panera's have room for a little improvement on their bread being dense at times. I only really eat here whenever i get a gift card from my family, i cant afford it any other time. The soup is amazing and my favorite sandwich is the turkey cheddar and apple! I would have never thought to put apple on a sandwich but it was fantastic. If i had to make any complaint at all it would be that the little buzzers that they give you kinda scare me. The food was amazing as always and it came out super fast! When I got my soup and bread bowl it was the wrong soup, when I went back up to the counter and told them the gentleman automatically started making me the correct one and replaced it SUPER fast! Then they let me keep the other one and packaged the soup and the bowl separate. Like other reviewers, it's Panera. No change in taste form one to the other, but I love it! Their portions are decent, but yes it can be a little over priced but healthier than a drive thru with a $1 menu . It's usually pretty quick if you order from the kiosk compared to the staff taking your order - so heads up if you're in a hurry. There is also an app you can pre-order from and pick it up. read more

Just left this establishment after watching 6 employees stand behind delivery counter and not one employee acknowledged my husband and I as we stood there waiting. They were not busy at all. This is my first yelp review EVER. My suggestion to owner and Management- train your employees to acknowledge a customer, even if their conversation is more exciting than working....or rather, if they are busy...say " I'll be right with you." The food is great!!! The service is horrible! It is just a bunch of kids with no personalities waiting on you. The attitude is " they don't care if you eat there or not". I took my mother there for the 1st time, and I was embarrassed by the treatment she received by the cashier. My trip to this Panera Bread restaurant was awful. First of all, while I was using the Ladies room, a male employee entered and proceeded to work on the towel dispenser. Upon hearing his voice I looked through the inch wide gap of the stall door and jamb and found myself looking out into the hallway, where there were other men passing by on their way to the Men's room! When I exited the stall, a female employee came in and said "Oh sorry, I didn't know anyone was in here before." I suggested next time she ask. We waited a good while for our food and when I finally went to the counter and asked about the two plates that were sitting there the clerk said "We paged you three times!" The pager in my hand had never gone off once. The sandwiches were mediocre at best. The bread was nice and soft but the Turkey and Ham were both, salt laden, processed "lunch meat". The Tea was fine but the pastry I chose was called a "Cobblestone". It was dry and hard and, again, mediocre. read more

Finally Panera arrived in Elizabeth City. After giving it a few weeks to settle down, I was ready to give it a try. It was pretty much the same as any other Panera with a few learning pains. I didn't get my complete order on one of my drive thru purchases. Yes, I said drive thru. This is the first one I have seen with this feature and it is very nice for picking up a meal to go. They have that big soup that feeds four and with a couple of those large sandwiches, and the 4 baguettes you have a complete meal. I was shorted 3 baguettes. I know this because my wife got 4 on another trip. Inside is nice and the food is good. This is also the only place in town with a great bagel selection. I will be going back. read more

Yep, it's a Panera. Great place to stop during the drive from Raleigh to Duck when you're just hungry for a quick sandwich. My wife and I have eaten at Paneras on both sides of the country, and they're all pretty much the same. Fresh sandwiches and surprisingly tasty soups--particularly their Broccoli-Cheddar. Some of their drink choices leave a little to be desired, but stick with the standards and you'll be OK. read more
