I usually love the fresh menu items at Panera but unfortunately today I couldn't enjoy a breakfast sandwich because the cashier did not know how to ring it in. It should not take a cashier 5 minutes to ring in one breakfast sandwich ever. Whether this is an issue with lack of training or lack of management presence it needs to be corrected. Most people who go to Panera in the mornings have to be at work and choose to quickly pick something up on the way. Timeliness is key for a restaurant offering breakfast options. read more

I have been here many times on weekdays, but rarely on a weekend. Service is not nearly what I was expecting. Order takers totally oblivious to customers standing in front of them. They're not rude, just not interested. I was never asked if I had a loyalty card, and had to suggest entering my phone number for the credit. If I was a first timer at Panera, I would not return. But I know each location is slightly different so will simply delete this one from future weekend breakfast plans. The seating area is in need of a good cleaning, and our first booth choice was unusable due to cushions falling out. The Panera in Columbia near Ft. Jackson is about the same. I scheduled last week to have 20 box lunches delivered to my office today. I asked for my lunches to be delivered between 11-11:15. They arrived at 10:45. 2 peoples lunches were missing. Had to call back just to find out although this is the location I ordered from, catering comes from their Calhoun location? Had to describe the delivery guy for whatever reason. They finally stated they'd get the 1 lunches to us. Around 12:45 we finally received the missing lunches, an apology and a $3 off coupon for the next visit ‍ Then, I personally opened my lunch box to find a turkey sandwich that was soggy and when I took the sandwich apart discovered my turkey was white on the way she's but pink in the center. What used to be my favorite place to grab lunch is now my least favorite. I get it that the Pandemic has been rough on the food and bev industry but atleast try to make things correctly. Their portions have become smaller but prices have increased. I ordered the You pick 2- what I've always done. I got the half chipotle chicken avocado melt but it lacked some of the ingredients. With it I got the Green Goddess Cob salad with chicken. The lettuce was wilted and turning brown. There were no pickled red onions. I ordered extra goddess dressing and I got 2 cups that were barely filled with dressing . No more Panera. It's not worth the price. read more

They still are exceptionally a delicious place to eat or dine in and the types of food they have never let's you down most recently I have become a rewards member because I really enjoy there food and they even have healthy choices like thier green goddess salad which is remarkably delicious and those almond cookies they are alittle pricey and I remember taking my mother whos now deceased to Panera bread and she thought they were expensive you couldn't get alot of food from the $10 giftcard I got her but I still feel its worth buying thier food as a treat sometimes. I especially like their smoothies you can tell they put effort into each flavor that they make. I usually call ahead to place my order, so I don't have to wait in the long line to order and then wait for my food. The staff is super friendly and always fun to talk to. I love all things Panera and never miss an opportunity to grab a fast, clean and delicious breakfast or lunch when I'm in West Ashley, or North Charleston. So, this morning, before hitting a few stores at Tanger, I stopped at Panera Bread on International Boulevard for my favorite breakfast sandwich ... the ham and cheese power. I placed my order with an associate at the point of sale and within two minutes my sandwich was ready ... two slices of perfectly toasted, yet chewy, whole wheat bread, a fresh cracked egg (yolk still soft) a slice of lean ham and slice of cheddar cheese. OK, it's nothing out of the ordinary ... but, it was, and is, always delicious. I washed it down with a piping hot cup of freshly brewed hazelnut coffee ... and I was good to go. How I wish Mount Pleasant would get a Panera Bread of its own. read more

This Panera is in a popular location, which makes it pretty busy during normal lunch hours, but they are usually able to get through a line fairly quickly. If you catch it on a day that the Airforce guys decide to eat there, seating can be tight. The seating area is large and offers a back corner nook with seating and dual occupancy booths for those looking to get away from the noise. Food is served in an efficient amount of time, even during peak hours, and is always delicious. I go to Panera very early (before 7) on my way to work. Nothing special about this location - no one ever says anything when I go in after ordering through the app using rapid pickup. The first time I used it, my order wasn't ready, I had to stand in line, and when I asked about it the girl looked confused and asked me for my name. Awful. Just awful!! This is my 3rd visit in the past year and each time, the food is terrible and the service even worse. The squash soup tastes like flavorless mush. The French onion soup is lacking cheese and the croutons are gross. The turkey BLT was basically lettuce and thinly cut tomatoes messily thrown onto white bread. The turkey was tiny hacked up pieces (looked more like chicken salad) that fell out when I bit into the sandwich. There was one undercooked strip of bacon and a quarter size piece of avocado. For $6 for a gourmet HALF sandwich, this is stupid. I can go across the parking lot and get a giant delicious sub for the same price. Also, what happened to the pickle spear that use to come with sandwiches?! Let's talk about the unclean drink station(s). First, why the heck is the hot coffee not back with the soda drinks? But they leave a tiny carafe of cold coffee by the soda. When I ordered coffee, I didn't see the wall of hot coffee tucked away by the front entrance and ended up with gross cold coffee. It wasn't until I asked for a lid that the employee rudely pointed me to the hot coffee. The hot coffee area is also where people stand in line to place a food order so forget social distancing. I could understand a little bit if the place was packed, but there was only about 5 people there. The sand which was my usual, roasted chicken and avocado blt. Correct me if I'm wrong but bacon is supposed to come out hot right? Great place to go for lunch. Had the Turkey Bravo on tomato basil bread which is so soft and good. Don't forget that broccoli and cheese soup which is delicious & the fact that I love cheese make it 100% better. I ordered water because I don't drink soda like that. Since it was a business lunch we ate in and I end up getting the tea, don't remember the name of it but it was orange with carrot turmeric and lemon I believe. Rapid Pick-Up is not so rapid. Definitely order 35-45 min before you plan on getting to this location. This is the second time I've ordered online ahead and I still have to wait after arriving. I used Rapid Pick-Up and placed my order at 4:52 PM. I was notified it should be ready by 5:02 PM. I asked the cashier about my order after waiting 30 minutes, and she just told me, "Oh, it should be ready. It's not ready?" Well, we could both see the Rapid Pick-Up shelves and they've been empty the entire time I've been waiting. I've been standing next to the shelves for the past 45 min now. I go to the pickup area and they act like this is the first time they've seen my order. By now they've completed orders for other patrons that ordered in person 40 minutes after me. I wait more. I see the staff just standing around doing nothing. So I ask the cashier again. Now she gets the supervisor who realizes no one is logged on the computer for the online orders, and that their website doesn't have my order. I show the receipt in my email. They start making my order an hour later. They hand me my order incomplete, so, you guessed it, I wait longer. Finally over an hr after I ordered, I get my food. Please train your staff to double check orders with customers instead of just standing around. read more

I have recently formed the habit of coming in to Panera before I make my way to the office. It is better than I remember it being years ago. Also, mornings tend to be FAR more quiet than lunchtime. But mostly I come here because I think the menu changes they have made with its "all-natural" ingredients has made a significant difference in quality. Today I got the Greek yogurt and mixed berries so not much exciting to report there (it was delicious and just the right amount as always). The associate was courteous but not not overly accommodating. Honestly, I was dragging too so I wasn't concerned with her low key demeanor. The only real drawback I encountered today were multiple dirty tables. I had to search for a place to sit and finally sat at a table that hadn't been wiped down.
