Panera gave us moldy bagels for our graduation party. When I called them about it the manager said it's what they serve every day and basically said who cares. The food health department would never let them serve moldy food ( you could see the mold growing on the top of the bagel). Have a really hard time ever wanting to eat here again. Major screw up on their part. Ordered online to pick up later. Ordered for 3 people 1/3 the order was missing. Called and said they were going to deliver the food with some extra goodies. An hour later and still no food, I call again. I am told that the delivery driver had my food. When asked for an explantation they did not have one. Another 20 minutes later I actually get the food. No goodies in sight. I call again and they tell me that they will be sending a gift card to me. Making me think they are going to drop it off. I call later and am talking to Craig and learn that they are mailing my gift card. Wish there was better communication here. In all it took an hour and a half to get our missing food. This is a lovely restaurant in the most delightful city. We like to visit Panera every time we come to Cedar Falls, it's a special Panera I don't know why but I think the community must wrap itself around this little establishment and make for such a special experience that it doesn't compared any other Panera I've ever been to. My in-laws are recognized everywhere at this restaurant, by the employees and their diners. We always sit in a group, we talk together diners, the employees come over and check on everyone and make sure our tables are cleared and cleaned and ask if we want anything else from the restaurant. If there is a holiday or birthday to celebrate everyone gathers around that person and wishes and well, in fact I believe in many cases they tell their friends to meet them at Panera. What a great business model to have such a community-based experience! Kudos To the owners and employees of this wonderful establishment, we will be back every time we visit. read more

I have always gotten pretty good service and quality food from this location. Well I don't eat here often because my husband doesn't care for it and it is a little more pricey than other places it is a nice distraction from time to time. When eating lunch or supper my favorite thing to get is that you pick to. You can get a half a serving of a salad or sandwich or small bowl of soup. One of my favorite menu items is there French onion soup. I like to go in the morning and pick up a bagel pack. They have fresh-baked bagels every morning along with tons of other delicious looking pastries. It's a really nice treat to bring into work. The service is genuinely very friendly and efficient. My only advice is not to go for food at the end of the night. You'll end up with the Reminence of the soup left in their pots. One time my bowl of chicken noodle soup literally had to noodles in it. read more

The ladies at the register were super nice. However the people actually putting your food up on the counter could have used a happy pill or at least some customer service training. Just flopping things on a plate messy and kind of short at calling names. Yeah. Not impressed with the service. I know they were busy but at least smile. The food was great though as usual. Loved the kale and turkey panini it was full of flavor. The Asian noodle salad had a nice kick! Was super good with not too much dressing. Food came up fast. My only memories of ever having bagels when I was young have only been from Panera bread. My wife and I stopped at this one to pick up 6 everything bagels but could only get 2 because that's all they had. One of the few places in CF to find healthy but delicious food. They have breakfast, baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and salads. Atmosphere is pretty peaceful and quiet so it is a great place for conversation. We have had breakfast and dinner here multiple times over the years -the staff is always very polite and the food consistently good. Interesting that Panera has a "no no" list of artificial preservative and flavors, etc. that are not in their food. The salads are great, not your typical boring iceberg lettuce salads found elsewhere, but with nutritious greens and out of the ordinary toppings. I recently had the Fuji apple salad with chicken. Tomato soup is awesome. We love their bagels (although they do automatically toast it- I guess you have to request toasted) & breakfast sandwiches. Love the coffee, they have regular coffee + lattes, etc. They have a variety of iced teas, including green tea. read more

It's a chain and it's order at the counter, but the service is still really good! I usually get one of two or three different girls when I order, and they are ALL super friendly! I usually dine in, and when I do, I never have problems. However, the past few times I have gotten to go orders, they have been wrong. For example, I ordered a pick two with Fuji apple salad and pesto sachettinni. What I found in my bag when I got home was a pathetic looking container of sachettinni (which tasted great but it looked preportioned and microwaved) and an Asian sesame salad! I'm really disappointed with my last experience at panera. I went for lunch with my daughter, entered our orders at 12:17 and by 12:40 we had to be asking when we were getting our food. The GM said they didn't have it although I had an email with the copy of my order. She just said "sorry about that" which to me sounds like "oops, I don't give a crap" and gave us our order to go. So I cannot complain about the service. The staff was polite and accommodating. The taste was decent as well, aside from the fact that my Panini cheese was not melted. I ordered a mac & cheese a steak and white cheddar Panini and a drink for a total of $12.91. The size of the meal that came out so disappointed me that I won't be coming back here. Friendly service and very quick. The food was not bad, hot soup, fresh salad. However I do wonder if it's just this Panera or standard practice for this chain to give so LITTLE for what they charge for items? The portion to price here is terrible. I would say this last time was my 4th or 5th time over year and a half and the first 2 times were just to get bagels. Now that I have tried their meals, I am amazed people are willing to pay such high prices for hardly any food! The sandwichs do NOT look like what they have pictured, nor are they the highest quality that they portray. I would say the Mediterranean veggie is the best one, as it does look like the picture and seems to be of high quality. Their full sized salads are pretty good as well, but 1/2 sized salads are a joke. Food is not terrible, I do LOVE the asiago bagel and I think I will just stick to getting bagels here and there as it seems they are the best value. The meals really need some adjusting in my opinion, either give more or charge less. read more

It's a Panera, what do you expect? They are all about the same. The only reason I've given it 3 stars is that service here leaves something to be desired. The staff never offers to bus your table (literally every other Panera I've been to does some table busing) and the trash cans are always piled high with plates and trash and such. I'm okay with busing my own table, but if I'm paying $9+ for a salad, it would be nice for the trash cans to be clean at the very least. read more

I always have a good experience at this Panera Bread location. I ordered a Caesar salad and the Frontega Chicken panini. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed, they still managed to get our food to us in a timely manner. The cashiers were very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu. The employees that make the food were very personable as well. They were sure to make eye contact with every customer who came to get their food and ended with a polite "thank you!"
