So, I usually allow a measure of grace to restaurants I like and I usually like Panera on Jackson Rd in Ann Arbor but today I can no longer turn a blind eye. Today the automated self serve computer was down (I prefer it to dealing with the entitled millenials that work there) I received my food both items were served in dirty bowls and I also received a dirty fork for my salad as well. Finally the tables in my section were dirty. read more

The food is made and handled as it should. Fresh yummy menus as usual. However, from the many times I come in , there is a lack of friendliness at the front. I'm very glad they have the ability to self order. read more

Good coffee choices. The amount food choices are on the low end, but it is still enough. Their food is good, especially their chicken noodle soup. Would recommend to anyone who would want to stop by for a quick meal. read more

Panera Bread - Sandwich, baguette, and coffee cup - Sandwiches Near Me - Ann Arbor, Michigan

I was out here in the boondocks of Ann Arbor...the suburbs of a suburban village...doing some dental work and since the climbing gym is half-way out here (or half way home) it made sense to get in some climbing. The problem is that the dentist appointment was over at noon and the gym doesn't open till 3:00...and I was hungry with lots of work to do. Panera, as mediocre as it is overall, was the perfect solution to that problem. I wanted food, real food, not cafe food. But I also wanted coffee w/ espresso (i.e. a red eye). And I needed a place to hang for a couple of hours to do work...that requires internet access and a power outlet. So I tend to avoid Panera in most circumstances, but being a chain it is reliable, and I knew that it had all these features. And I even have a fireplace going here. Still the bacon bravo sandwich the that the worker recommended was below special. The coffee is barely drinkable, even with sugar added. Some of the bread is good, and I guess some of the pastries are. But don't come here if you're trying to trim down. I'm not sure anything on the menu is healthy, but anyway the bread products will drag you in and ruin your good eating intentions. read more

I'll never understand the Panera distrust/dislike. But I think that's because I don't understand hipsters, so I'll never understand the "I don't like the mainstream" or "I was into that before it was cool" thing..... And, let's face it, Ann Arbor is just crawling with hipsters (aka university students). Of all the Paneras I've been to, this one definitely has some of the best service. The people are quick, probably because it's also one of the busiest I've ever been to. Flat out - they get 4 stars mostly because of their cream of chicken & wild rice soup. That shit is amazing. And they never seem to have it when I really want it. Bastards. read more

Everyone is super friendly and nice. My only issue is how SLOW they are. Whether you're standing in line, ordering for rapid pick up or having them deliver, they are just insanely slow!! I have currently been waiting for my delivery, that's says it's been out for delivery for 30 mins and I am just across the street from them. It's a salad!!! My mistake in doing delivery! Never again! Not happy! read more

This location is the most delicious and professional in the area. Very well put together sandwiches, made correct with the appropriate quanity and quality. Very friendly staff and cleanliness of restaurant is A+ Yumm! Enjoy! read more

Quick service, friendly, clean, free wifi. Like the pick 2 options.

The food is generally fresh and freshly made, but whenever I come with my wife, I get shortchanged. Her salad or grains bowl always has about 20% more than mine. Today, we complained about that. After some resistance, they have me some extra salad. Every time I come, I'm less convinced that I'll come back. read more

Good, dependable panera, A bit on the pricey side for the kids entrees. The food is passable. I can think of other places I'd rather eat though. read more

I still haven't heard back from the manager about the incident I had when I visited Panera last month. I can see this location is very focused on great customer service... Not. With a situation where coworkers are rude and directly violating the health code, you'd think you'd want it resolved right away. This is a shame, because I really love Paneras food. read more

Panera in general is a reliable chain with generally good soups, salads, and sandwiches. Unfortunately the service at this Panera has declined pretty dramatically. We've had incorrect orders, complete swaps of our order for someone else's order, and most recent Call Ahead order that was placed in a soaking wet bag that promptly gave way, spilling our soups all over the ground. I'd strongly urge you to avoid this Panera and choose literally any other Panera location instead. read more

Food is great. People are friendly. Restaurant clean and inviting. What more could you ask?

This is absolutely the worst Panera location I have ever experienced. I have always liked Panera's wide range of menu choices. However, The restaurant on Jackson Rd. is appallingly bad. The eating area is filthy. The counters are dirty, and the workers seem bored and unhappy to be there. If you order takeout, there is only a 50% chance that they will get it right. I really don't blame the employees. I blame the manager. read more

The Panera Bread on Jackson Rd. in Ann Arbor is always dirty. I'm not a picky person but on the numerous times I've stopped, the tables are never clean. This is especially concerning due to Covid. As much as you're charged for the meal, you think the company would hire more staff to keep the floors and tables clean. read more

We enjoy the food choices at all the Paneras. They have a high degree of consistency from location to location. However, at this location the cleanliness of the dine in areas has turned into a debacle. If you find a clean table you've beaten the odds. Getting an accurate order at the speed they had used to provide service can often be frustrating as well. I'd say online ordering and carry out is the best way to go, but the order accuracy issues have bitten us more than once. The best advice is to check, then double check your order before leaving. read more

For years I waited for the St. Louis Bread Company to open a Panera Bread restaurant in Ann Arbor. I was a first day customer when the first one opened. Now they have 5 stores in Ann Arbor and all are hugely successful. I love their food and bakery. My only complaint involves the 3 stores nearest the University. They are frequently full of students who hog 4 top tables for just one student with a laptop. They won't move and won't share and Panera Bread refuses to do a thing about it. I've had to return my tray to the cashier and ask for a refund. Insane! read more

Ordered a salad, was delivered at 12pm. There was no dressing. Called 3 times to get through to someone, who told me they would send someone out with dressing. at 12:30pm, still no dressing. Called back and they said the guy was on his way. Here I am at 12:59pm, still no dressing. I order from here almost daily, so I'm super irritated. I will call back again and continue to do so until I get my dressing for my salad. At this point, I want my money back. 1:12pm, still no dressing, on my 4th time calling without anyone answering. read more

This place is a dump. I ordered a rapid pickup- tuna fish sandwich, and it was sloppily put together, the lettuce and spinach was all wilted. 50% of the time when I order food, it turns out wrong. No matter how well I tip. read more

3rd time we ordered the rapid pickup and our order was wrong EVERY time. All the employees were too busy on their phones to let us know that they had changed our order. Get it together, seriously. read more

This is my favorite Panera! I love the Rapid Pick-Up and how I can jump the line and get my food within one minute of walking in!! The pastries are always fresh and they are only $1 with a meal! I always find the employees are smiling and friendly and the service is very efficient! read more

This Panera is nearest to my work. I have ordered several times over the years and each time I have ordered has been a hassle. For example.... I like very plain food. I usually ask for a turkey and Swiss on white bread. I was told one time that the White bread is reserved for children's sandwiches, so I picked the next plainest bread. I also enjoy the steak and cheese grilled sandwich. I ordered steak and extra cheese, being careful to ensure I didn't leave something on that I wouldn't like. I received my order to find meat only. I tried to call to see if I could get a credit for at least the cheese, the message said they don't have time to answer the phone between 12-1. I gave up, at least I could eat it. This last time I ordered the steak and extra cheese again, that's it. Meat, cheese, bread....it looked ok, I bit into it and bam some sort of nasty sauce. I called immediately and was able to get through. I talked to a manager person who was seemed happy to replace it, but seemed put off that I wanted it delivered, again. The delivery guy, who was very nice and apologetic handed me the sandwich and left. I should have checked before he left, because, again, a plain steak sandwich. No cheese. When I pay almost $20 for a sandwich, chips and a soda, Plus $3 delivery fee, plus tip, I want the sandwich that I ordered. read more

Ordered delivery to my office for lunch, which is a location they frequently deliver. Usually they run a few minutes late, which is nothing too upsetting or unexpected. This time they were over 25 minutes late (weather being a non-issue); when I called to inquire about my order and understand why I was waiting almost double the expected time-I was immediately placed on hold for a manager. I sat on hold for around 5 minutes and then the line hung up and I had to start from scratch. I called back in, and the employee who answered asked if I wanted Managment to call me back. Never received a call at all. When the food arrived, it was cold-and they missed half of my order. Will not be ordering from this location, and will encourage my colleagues to do the same. read more

I've been to this particular Panera a couple of times as it is the closest to my home. I like Panera for the options that they serve. I'm a former bread baker so I think I can judge their creations. They have good solid options for sandwiches and pastries. I like the Asiago roast beef sandwich and the Italian sandwich as well. I never get the chips as a side, I get the chunk of multi-grain baguette. Their bagels are tasty (if a bit pricey) too. Overall, it's a bettter, healthier option for lunch, which I like! read more

I really used to like going to Panera. Their sandwiches and pastries are so yummy. But, I recently went to Panera on Jackson Road in Ann Arbor. After my order, I waited almost 30 minutes for my food. It was quite busy so I figured this was the problem. Then I realized all the people around me were also waiting as long as I. When my soup came, along with the sandwich, it was served in a take away container. They had run out of plates and bowls. I did receive an email from Panera apologizing for the delay in service. Since I've eaten at Panera frequently over the years, I thought that it was just one of those days for Panera, so I tried to order another day, today! What a mess from the Eisenhower Panera in Ann Arbor. Read about that in my review about that store. What a shame! read more

Rude staff, chaos, manager yelling at employees, rude answers to questions by me and other customers. I don't need this. They need to have better training for this location. read more

We've never had a problem with this panera. We often order online to avoid the line. The order has been correct so far and the food has been exactly the way it should be. read more

This is an excellent Panera Bread location. The employees are nice, friendly, and polite and the food is great for quick lunch/dinner. Many times I will go get dinner relatively late in the evening right before they close (8:30-9ish) and they will package my soup and salad up nicely and throw in a whole baguette instead of just a small slice. Of course, Panera is a little pricy for what it is, but I always enjoy meals here. Good place to sit down for a pleasure read or to do some quick work. read more

This Panera location has been going down the tubes for several years. Whether eating in or taking out, there is an error with our order 90% of the time. I've discussed this with the day manager more times than I can count and she could care less. Today, we picked up a $185 bagel catering order that was placed five days ago. It was wrong, of course, and I was told there was nothing that could be done because it was rung in the register wrong. We received some rolls instead of bagels. Is Panera in the bagel business or not? Don't go here, peeps. You will be very disappointed. read more

While I give Panera two stars, what keeps me going back is that it is a great place to take kids. I think the food is just mediocre, but the kids think it is the bomb. My son gets very excited about the alfredo tortellini. read more

The food is decent. The service is the key reason for the single star. Some of the staff here, particularly the older Caucasian lady, give Panera a bad name. read more

We stopped at this Panera while passing through town. The first thing we noticed was the smell of urine when we walked in. First I thought I was imagining it, but upon visiting the restroom, the smell was bad enough to make me hold my breath. Next, both of our coffees were strangely flavored, obviously there had been some mix-ups. We tried several different coffees and they were all out of whack. I wonder if the water from the soda fountain in this place is well water? If not, my friend and I both agreed it had a distinct egg flavor to it. The service was friendly and the food average (we had breakfast). I would recommend other Panera's based on our experience. read more

Oh Panera, I have given you so many chances. But you continue to disappoint. Today I placed a "rapid pick up" order at noon for pick up at 12:55. When I ran in to grab my order, total chaos and no order on shelf. I was told it would be at least another 10-15 minutes because "it's just really busy". Umm, isn't this time of day always kind of busy? Thank you at least for the refund. read more

Recently visited with Family. The seating area was a disgusting mess. All, I mean all, tables were dirty, floor was dirty, with at least 5 employees standing behind the counter. I ordered a half sandwich. The portion size was joke! I asked the counter person for "some ingredients please" and they obliged, and apologized. Come on management, you can do much better. According to other recent patrons, this was not an isolated incident. read more

We recently used this Panera Bread for an extensive catering order in conjunction with our daughter's wedding weekend. We had the bridal party and guests getting ready at a nearby hotel and ordered lunch from this Panera Bread to serve them. We worked with Todd, the Catering coordinator, who was very helpful and professional. He not only delivered the order on time but everything was exactly as we requested, and he was careful to include napkins and condiments for us. I was very pleased with the outstanding service he provided and the quality of the food:) read more
