This spot is another traditional spot that we always stop at when visiting friend and family! The owners and staff are always very friendly and welcoming. They are also very fast and always on top of everything. The food is always hot and fresh and full of flavors! I don't think I've eaten anything here that was lacking. We all got a variety of different dishes and due to the larger portion sizes of course we left with leftovers! lol. This is the best Chinese food available that I've found anywhere near Olympia. We had the sweet and sour pork, subgum chow mein, fried rice and fried shrimp. Everything tasted really fresh and the sweet and sour sauce was great. We will be going back often. I should also mention my meal was around $15 and I got two additional meals out of the leftovers. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon after the place I tired to go originally, was closed. We got sat right away and the inside was nice and quiet and empty but they say us right next to other people which I found weird as there was many many tables empty. We got two waters and a teapot at the table and we did not have to ask, they just gave it right away. We ordered the two special they had on the board out front being the sweet and sour chicken with kung pao chicken and pork fried rice for one plate. Then teriyaki chicken and pork fried rice with steamed broccoli and an orange for another plate. The sweet and sour chicken was good but the kung pao chicken had zero spice to it. When I say zero I mean zero. The kung pao chicken had a lot of veggies in it and maybe 10 small pieces of chicken. The rice was alright. The broccoli with the teriyaki chicken was cold, I asked if it was steamed because it was cold and the lady said it was steamed. The bathroom was alright as well but one of the toilets had a sign saying you have to forcefully pull up on the toilet flusher to make it go which I thought was weird. Welcome to the 70's. This place has an awesome deco the has not been updated in decades and I loved it. Thick plushy carpet that made it feel like you're walking on a cloud. Ordered our food and I don't know if they were cleaning out the refrigerator or what but our plates were filled to overflowing. The food was great and arrived quickly. Customer service was quick and informative. The only complaint I had is that we were seated next to another family in otherwise completely empty restaurant. Will definitely return. read more

Getting Chinese food on vacation is one of my favorite things! This place looked like it had decent food and a dive bar feel I hope translated to a hidden gem, but alas, it did not. The fried shrimp hit the spot as I like it thickly breaded. The General Tso was edible but more of a sweet brown gravy than the ginger and chilies I'm used to. The sweet and sour was meant as leftovers for dinner, but I will likely throw it away. Very bland and dry. In the right mood, and the right dish this would probably evoke memories of family dinners out from the '70's. But I wouldn't eat there again. Also, make sure you use the restroom before you go. But he fails to see how that is misleading considering the other similar chow meins are served regularly, AND YOU HAVE A SUBGUM OPTION ON THE MENU. So your low iq brain is serving a regular chow mein as subgum, while naming it as a regular chow mein? When your menu specifically indicates they're different and that you have those 2 different options DISTINCTLY NAMED FOR A REASON? Not surprising, after talking to the kid. He was more confused than we were. Hot and sour soup was thick like glue. Tasted weird too. Probably old and microwaved. Fried shrimp and sweet and sour chicken were extremely mediocre. Fried rice isn't actually fried rice, so that's also a scam. Fried rice is... well, fried. What we got was just white rice with soy sauce mixed into it. And then a random heap of dried out bbq pork. This place just takes advantage of locals who don't have better options and this was the first Chinese experience they ever have when they were kids. This place would shut down in any city that isn't secluded. We stopped here on our way back to Seattle from Seaside, OR. It was a good break in Centralia. It was not overly busy when we arrived for lunch. Meals were around $12-$15. They had a few specials on the board and I opted for one of them which had chicken, veggies, and came with rice and also another portion of sweet and sour chicken. I misunderstood the special and thought I had to choose one chicken dish or the other - nope - I got both. In the photo is my meal in the back and my husband got all the fried yumminess in the front. I always get steamed rice. The portions were HUGE. Needless to say, we didn't go hungry. They also came out pretty fast. One of the coolest things is that they automatically bring you green tea kettle when you sit down. I love that. I was going to order some so it was a great surprise. Horrid! Do not go here. To start, there's a ofd odor right when you walk in, mold, filth, something not good for a restaurant. Every wall has dirt, torn wallpaper or damage to it. After Peking House was closed without warning or explanation, we ended up here. The place was large, but relatively empty. When Yelper's post it's the Best Chinese Restaurant in a city no one really wants to live in, I think the writing is on the wall. Service was slow, a bit snotty and the food was disgusting. I ordered a combo with Almond Chicken Pork Fried Rice and Chow Mein. The Chow Mein had a photo on the menu, but the Almond Chicken either did not, or I didn't look, but everyone know what Almond Chicken looks like. I don't like fried rice and in hindsight, maybe I should have asked for white rice, but what I did is something I have done dozens of times before in other places without issue, incident, charge or fail. I asked for no Pork Fried or Shrimp Fried rice, just add extra Chow Mein. The lady looked at me funny, then said, "Sure" for $2. I reluctantly accepted but this set up the entire experience. Soup came it was okay, not terrible, but also far from the best Hot and Sour. When the meal came, the plate was massive. No question it was a healthy, generous portion, but here was the issue. The Chow Mein looked nothing like the menu photo, it was full of peas, carrots and a host of veggies I don't like, so I immediately was unhappy I paid more for something I was not going to eat. The almost, excuse me Almond Chicken had an orange sauce, that somewhat tasted like what you expect, but the texture was weird and there was no almonds. After a single bite, I pushed the plate back, when my snotty server asked if everything was okay, I explained the Chow Mein didn't look like the photo and the chicken tasted off, she said let me get you a box. I said, no, I can't eat this. She said she would get my check. No, she didn't ask to make me something else, or to remove even the upcharge, she proudly gave me my check. Another server said, "He doesn't want to go?" realizing I basically didn't eat the food, but they still decided to charge me. So to recap, food was gross, no tip was left and in my opinion I was over charged and now there is a negative review to sum it all up. If you eat here and leave unhappy, it's because you didn't listen to the words of a food fan with hundreds of reviews. 100% regrettable and inedible. read more

I have been eating chinese food for over 65 years. I have in many different countries including China and Taiwan. so I know my Chinese food; this ranks as the all time worst. Why, first the ingredients they used were the absolutely cheapest. These people should be embarrassed as they put zero effort in to the preparation . They just don't care, just put out any sloop and they will eat it. The shrimp were un cleaned and still contained the veins. The coating on the shrimp was awful , I couldn't eat it. Panda Inn has been our "Go To" Chinese restaurant for about four years. It had a great combination of huge portions, a great menu selection, and fantastic prices. A couple months ago new owners took over, and things have gone down hill to the point we won't be going back. You still get huge portions, can't beat that. Easily two meals out of what they bring you. The prices have gone up, but since Biden took over, whose haven't? Still a good deal with regard to the portions. The problem is, my wife and I both thought this independently over the course of two different dining occasions, the food has gone from "Better than OK" to just below "Bland". I don't know what they did, likely cost saving measures, but out of two dinners for two adults each getting a different thing each meal, we both expressed sadness that the quality has dropped so notably. Time to find a new "Go To". :( read more

Yuk! Absolutely awful.! Having never been here before I had high hopes that FINALLY I had found a decent Chinese restaurant in the area. Boy was I wrong. Of course we ordered way too much but I was looking forward to having leftovers to take home. I'll start at the beginning, we ordered fried shrimp and BBQ pork to start. The shrimp were actually quite good and I was hopeful for a continuation of good Chinese food but it was not to be. The BBQ pork was tough, dry and stringy and had no flavor They also gave us about 10 sesame seeds sitting on top of the catsup and mustard that came in little dishes on the side. I asked for more sesame seeds that never came, which was actually ok because the pork was inedible. Next egg foo young. I asked the waitress if it was made fresh and she assured me it was. Two minutes later she brought over what looked like vege burger patties. They were soggy, tasteless, heavy and incredibly dense. She insisted they were made as ordered to which I asked how they could do that in literally 2 minutes? They were disgusting not to mention the "gravy" that was the neon yellow, not anywhere near the brown gravy usually served with egg foo young, I wouldn't even try it. Plus on top of that the foo young itself was soggy and gray. GROSS. The rest of the meal came out just as fast. Clearly not enough time to make anything too order. NEXT UP Kung Pao Shrimp. It looked ok but was flavorless, the shrimp were the kind of precooked shrimp you can find in the supermarket frozen food section. Nothing to write home about although I managed to eat a few bites because by this time I was starving. The Chicken with snow peas was yet another flavorless concoction from hell although the snow peas themselves seemed fresh not frozen. The House Fried Rice was greasy, had almost no meat or shrimp in it and what there was was just more of those same horrible frozen shrimp and almost microscopic pieces of chicken and pork. Two of us had a cocktail and they were just ok. I refused to pay for the BBQ pork ($11.75) but reluctantly paid for the rest. At that, the bill was over $100. Definitely not worth it. We will never be back and I would caution anyone who does go to do it at your own risk, The restaurant was fairly clean and our waitress was pleasant but unfortunately that is about all I can say for this restaurant. read more

Chicken lo mein is a tad dry, but the flavor is not bad. Broccoli in the broccoli beef seemed okay. Not too mushy. Mushroom chicken was fine. All of the meats have the distinctive American-Chinese rubberiness with all of the food being coated with that creamy oiliness, but the overall flavor and quality was above average.
