Panda Inn - No.1 bbq pork/ fried shrimp & substituted chow mein for extra pork fried rice & triple crown w/ chicken and seafood - Chinese Near Me - Centralia, Washington

This spot is another traditional spot that we always stop at when visiting friend and family! The owners and staff are always very friendly and welcoming. They are also very fast and always on top of everything. The food is always hot and fresh and full of flavors! I don't think I've eaten anything here that was lacking. We all got a variety of different dishes and due to the larger portion sizes of course we left with leftovers! lol. It's a very nice open layout and you can also reserve tables and areas where's it's separate for larger groups. read more

Panda Inn - Hours of operation - Chinese Near Me - Centralia, Washington

I use to love panda Inn back in 2021. The cook was exceptional, all his plates can out balanced with fruit and vegetables and very tasty back then I would give them a 5 star. But tonight, we came at 6 pm and got a chair by the window. Our tea was just flavored water instead of a strong peppermint or other herbal taste of the past. The egg roll where still 5 star. The BBQ pork was still 5 star. The sweet and sour sauce was good and also the hot mustard. But that is pretty much where good taste and good flavor stopped. Back in 2021, you got crispy fried almond chicken in a very taste sauce mixed with slivered almonds, tonight I got soggy chicken that tasted like someone just smothered them in the yellow yolks of an egg. And not a single almond was even on top. The Mongolian beef, use to have vegetables, broccoli, peas, carrot, celery, baby corn onions and watercress. Tonight it had onion and one or two snow peas. Tasted like onions. And a dump of soy sauce, no ginger, no garlic, no pazzaz like in 2021. 2021 BBQ pork fried rice had peas and carrots and ham and alot of ginger, garlic f l avor and the pork was stored in and a bit sprinkled on top . Tonight tasted like rice with soy sauce with bits of pork sprinkled on top nothing in the rice. They place I use to always tell people it was excellent is no longer that. The plates where also half the size they use to be. They told us the cook is the same that has always been there. I was really saddened that the cook had turned out this bad of a dinner. It was like he had given up on eye appeal and flavor for fast food. It looked sloppy and unprofessional of a Chinese food restaurant of their past. I am saddened that we also had to pay 90 bucks for the disgrace of that kind of meal when I was entertaining my sister from Arizona who was craving their good cooking of the past when the cook took pride in his dishes. I miss that kind of cook. It would have been worth the 90. If it was cooked like he or she did back in 2021. I have eaten there every year with my sister it has been a family tradition. Tonight the family tradition will change to another Chinese restaurant cause this was not good any more.it is sad for me. Cause I know they can do better. read more

My father used to say, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all....but I can't stay quiet. After my experience, I agree with the one stars on this one. People that have been coming here for years and think this food is edible need to seek medical assistance, for their brain, bowels and balls. There is so much better out there! Shanghai! Royal! Ocean! Anything but here. read more

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon after the place I tired to go originally, was closed. We got sat right away and the inside was nice and quiet and empty but they say us right next to other people which I found weird as there was many many tables empty. We got two waters and a teapot at the table and we did not have to ask, they just gave it right away. We ordered the two special they had on the board out front being the sweet and sour chicken with kung pao chicken and pork fried rice for one plate. Then teriyaki chicken and pork fried rice with steamed broccoli and an orange for another plate. The sweet and sour chicken was good but the kung pao chicken had zero spice to it. When I say zero I mean zero. The kung pao chicken had a lot of veggies in it and maybe 10 small pieces of chicken. The rice was alright. The broccoli with the teriyaki chicken was cold, I asked if it was steamed because it was cold and the lady said it was steamed. The bathroom was alright as well but one of the toilets had a sign saying you have to forcefully pull up on the toilet flusher to make it go which I thought was weird. The people were nice but I don't think the pros outweighed the cons. read more

This is the best Chinese food available that I've found anywhere near Olympia. We had the sweet and sour pork, subgum chow mein, fried rice and fried shrimp. Everything tasted really fresh and the sweet and sour sauce was great. We will be going back often. I should also mention my meal was around $15 and I got two additional meals out of the leftovers. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The inside is the same as I remember it 15+ years ago, but that doesn't bother me. It's a cute restaurant with plenty of seating. read more

Welcome to the 70's. This place has an awesome deco the has not been updated in decades and I loved it. Thick plushy carpet that made it feel like you're walking on a cloud. Ordered our food and I don't know if they were cleaning out the refrigerator or what but our plates were filled to overflowing. The food was great and arrived quickly. Customer service was quick and informative. The only complaint I had is that we were seated next to another family in otherwise completely empty restaurant. Will definitely return. read more

Getting Chinese food on vacation is one of my favorite things! This place looked like it had decent food and a dive bar feel I hope translated to a hidden gem, but alas, it did not. The fried shrimp hit the spot as I like it thickly breaded. The General Tso was edible but more of a sweet brown gravy than the ginger and chilies I'm used to. The sweet and sour was meant as leftovers for dinner, but I will likely throw it away. Very bland and dry. In the right mood, and the right dish this would probably evoke memories of family dinners out from the '70's. But I wouldn't eat there again. Also, make sure you use the restroom before you go. The ladies room was definitely sticky with visible streaks on the stall wall and smelled! read more

The explanation would be too long. This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to. Service is awful, waitress literally didn't know any of the menu items or anything about the food. When she brought our check and fortune cookies, she just ran over and dropped them on the floor and left. That's obviously not acceptable, doesn't matter if you're trying to go fast. Use your brain Food is awful. The pork chow mein advertised is falsely advertised by objective technicality. It is served as the subgum chow mein even though the other chow meins are normal chow meins. The owner is possibly the dumbest person I've had to talk to in my life. He doesn't get how they are falsely advertising the pork chow mein. They sell regular chow mein and we ordered a regular chow mein. And then they bring us a subgum without peas and onions (literal only difference which isn't relevant to the type of dish). And he isn't lying that that actually is their regular pork chow mein. But he fails to see how that is misleading considering the other similar chow meins are served regularly, AND YOU HAVE A SUBGUM OPTION ON THE MENU. So your low iq brain is serving a regular chow mein as subgum, while naming it as a regular chow mein? When your menu specifically indicates they're different and that you have those 2 different options DISTINCTLY NAMED FOR A REASON? Not surprising, after talking to the kid. He was more confused than we were. Hot and sour soup was thick like glue. Tasted weird too. Probably old and microwaved. Fried shrimp and sweet and sour chicken were extremely mediocre. Fried rice isn't actually fried rice, so that's also a scam. Fried rice is... well, fried. What we got was just white rice with soy sauce mixed into it. And then a random heap of dried out bbq pork. This place just takes advantage of locals who don't have better options and this was the first Chinese experience they ever have when they were kids. This place would shut down in any city that isn't secluded. I'd bet the owner more money than he'll ever make in his dirty hands' lives that he would not be able to succeed anywhere outside of that disgusting spot. If he opened up anywhere in or near a major city with other options, he would actually shut down within a year lmao read more

We stopped here on our way back to Seattle from Seaside, OR. It was a good break in Centralia. It was not overly busy when we arrived for lunch. Meals were around $12-$15. They had a few specials on the board and I opted for one of them which had chicken, veggies, and came with rice and also another portion of sweet and sour chicken. I misunderstood the special and thought I had to choose one chicken dish or the other - nope - I got both. In the photo is my meal in the back and my husband got all the fried yumminess in the front. I always get steamed rice. The portions were HUGE. Needless to say, we didn't go hungry. They also came out pretty fast. One of the coolest things is that they automatically bring you green tea kettle when you sit down. I love that. I was going to order some so it was a great surprise. In all the food was tasty and portions were big. The atmosphere itself isn't anything to write home about, a little old and outdated. However, for food alone I would return. read more

A long time favorite for cheap, large portions. The number 13 is my go-to and I rotate between lo mein or sweet and sour pork. Their fried rice is my favorite of anywhere and I always get the hot and sour soup. So good! We always have great service and lots of leftovers. read more

After Peking House was closed without warning or explanation, we ended up here. The place was large, but relatively empty. When Yelper's post it's the Best Chinese Restaurant in a city no one really wants to live in, I think the writing is on the wall. Service was slow, a bit snotty and the food was disgusting. I ordered a combo with Almond Chicken Pork Fried Rice and Chow Mein. The Chow Mein had a photo on the menu, but the Almond Chicken either did not, or I didn't look, but everyone know what Almond Chicken looks like. I don't like fried rice and in hindsight, maybe I should have asked for white rice, but what I did is something I have done dozens of times before in other places without issue, incident, charge or fail. I asked for no Pork Fried or Shrimp Fried rice, just add extra Chow Mein. The lady looked at me funny, then said, "Sure" for $2. I reluctantly accepted but this set up the entire experience. Soup came it was okay, not terrible, but also far from the best Hot and Sour. When the meal came, the plate was massive. No question it was a healthy, generous portion, but here was the issue. The Chow Mein looked nothing like the menu photo, it was full of peas, carrots and a host of veggies I don't like, so I immediately was unhappy I paid more for something I was not going to eat. The almost, excuse me Almond Chicken had an orange sauce, that somewhat tasted like what you expect, but the texture was weird and there was no almonds. After a single bite, I pushed the plate back, when my snotty server asked if everything was okay, I explained the Chow Mein didn't look like the photo and the chicken tasted off, she said let me get you a box. I said, no, I can't eat this. She said she would get my check. No, she didn't ask to make me something else, or to remove even the upcharge, she proudly gave me my check. Another server said, "He doesn't want to go?" realizing I basically didn't eat the food, but they still decided to charge me. So to recap, food was gross, no tip was left and in my opinion I was over charged and now there is a negative review to sum it all up. If you eat here and leave unhappy, it's because you didn't listen to the words of a food fan with hundreds of reviews. 100% regrettable and inedible. read more

Horrid! Do not go here. To start, there's a ofd odor right when you walk in, mold, filth, something not good for a restaurant. Every wall has dirt, torn wallpaper or damage to it. Ordered a #3 and told 5 minutes. Really, it takes 5 minutes to cook food? She was more interested in her phone than her job. A number three came out and she gave it to the lady before me who left promptly. Followed by the number 13 coming out, which was obviously the lady ahead of me's order. I sat another five minutes, wondering what was going on before? She finally asked me if I was the person that called in the order! I promptly told her she just took my order in person and I had been sitting in front of her the whole time. Where is my food? I had to wait another 10 minutes to get my order. Brought my order home and I have to say this is the most disgusting chow mein I have ever tasted in my life. The rice is so dry and burnt that it's not edible.the sweet-and-sour pork is OK. I will never ever go to this establishment again. Absolute horrible service, horrible food, horrible ambience. Close shop already. read more

Today was not what we usually experience at Panda Inn. The BBQ pork was too tough to bite through or cut with a fork. The Almond Chicken was very tough and bland. It's not unheard of to get a rare bad meal. However, when they asked how it was, and we told them, they gave no sign of any concern. I will say the service was okay. read more

I have been eating chinese food for over 65 years. I have in many different countries including China and Taiwan. so I know my Chinese food; this ranks as the all time worst. Why, first the ingredients they used were the absolutely cheapest. These people should be embarrassed as they put zero effort in to the preparation . They just don't care, just put out any sloop and they will eat it. The shrimp were un cleaned and still contained the veins. The coating on the shrimp was awful , I couldn't eat it. Save your money and go to one of many Mexican restaurants close by. I told them on the way out how disappointed I was. They didn't care! read more
