Panda House in Marathon was disappointing overall. While the portions were decent and the prices were reasonable, the food itself lacked flavor and freshness. Several dishes tasted bland, and nothing really stood out as something I'd order again. Service was okay, but the overall experience felt rushed and forgettable. We had panda house for our first time and it was so good! We are from Maryland where there's tons of Chinese food to choose from so we are kinda snobby we just moved here so we were praying this would be our new spot and hands down they nailed it. Panda House was closed for a few years so it's been a while since I've been there. My band was playing in marathon on New Year's Eve and I needed some takeout so grabbed some. first of all they were crazy busy in there with huge orders going out the door for 50 people 60 people 100 people. And they told me my order would be a while. Very friendly staff am my order came really quick. I'm thinking like about 15 minutes. so my thought was that maybe things were pre-cooked but it wasn't the case. I got several appetizers several entrées and to my amazement. everything was excellent- wasn't too salty. It wasn't oily it wasn't overcooked and it was so hot. It clearly was cooked fresh. wonton soup could've had a little more vegetables for me, but the wontons were tender, steamed dumplings, tender, juicy excellent chicken wings maybe be the best I ever had not greasy not salty not too much bread. Broccoli and garlic sauce not overcooked not too salty no oil. Same for some Chinese noodles and shrimp I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised and pleased. It is so hard to find decent Chinese food anywhere. This was takeout and food was well packaged. Nice inside, great staff, excellent food!! read more

Panda House is pretty consistent and low key probably has the best wings in town! They're delivery service is unbelievable quick. I almost thought they were in my house. 15 minutes after placing my order, even with some special requests, they were knocking on the door! As mentioned earlier, the wings were large, plump, crispy and juicy! I will not joke about the local chickens running around town. I have not eaten inside but have peeked in while picking up. Nice interior. I like that they give an option on the steamed rice that comes with entrees. To me , that usually gets wasted. But I was asked if I wanted fried rice. Yes, please and thank you!. The curried chicken was fragrant and delicious. The egg foo yung was a little overcooked on 1 side but wasn't terrible. Lo mein was fully packed almost overflowing. We came here on Christmas Day and I have to say....hats off to them. They had online orders, call in orders, in person orders and people dining in....they were absolutely packed. I mean probably over 100+ orders all at the same time. The whole family was working their butts off nonstop. It was chaos, they didn't have enough people working for all the customers but you know what...thank goodness they didn't throw in the towel and give up because basically every place was closed. Groceries stores closed. Only a few restaurants and the wait was crazy long. There was crying, yelling, stress beyond what you can imagine but they handled it. Every single order....and the food was DELICIOUS! The quality did not disappoint and with the busyness it is the first thing to go away but they maintained the quality. Really grateful for them. So if you try this place please remember to give them some grace. They're a small family owned restaurant just trying to make it like all of us and to support their families. Really good for chinese food. I didnt know what i was ordering so i ended up placing a order that was $40 and this is what i got. Like i said its really good for Chinese food but the chicken and broccoli was extremely bland and not worth it at all. still nice hot and seemed good quality if i can say that. While the food here was not spectacular, (I come from a family of restaurateurs, am half Chinese, and prefer my food well-seasoned), it was fresh and tasty and a welcome respite from overpriced, not-so-great seafood. For the taste, the portions, and the reasonable price, the food was well worth it. I will go back again the next time I am in the area. read more

We come from the Northeast so we were not expecting to be picky about Chinese take out in the Keys. Decent option, nothing wrong with it! It was less salty and had less of the gooey cornstarch sauce which can be a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for. But for me it tasted kind of watery without all the salty gooey sauce. But with a little extra salt it was excellent tasting so no big deal. Classic Chinese food and pretty tasty for the area. We are Asian and was missing our Asian rices and noodles. Fairly priced and HUGE portions. However we wanted take out and it was pretty confusing. I called them using the number on google and got a dial tone, but since we were out anyways we decided we would just get there and order. When we got there, we were told to call a separate number to place a take out order. She gave us a menu and I called the number on the front ( the biggest one i saw ) and then she came out and told us to call ANOTHER number since the number I called was apparently her cell phone? If ever a restaurant really deserved a 3* rating, it is the Panda House. Absolutely EVERYTHING was 3 stars, including the service. The one possible exception was the tea, which I would rate at 3.5*. We recently moved to the area and were craving some Chinese food, with this being the only place in the area we figured we'd give them a try. We're glad we did! We got the Mongolian beef and the General Tso's chicken. The beef came with white rice and the chicken came with pork fried rice. The chicken came with an egg roll and we added on an extra one for the beef. Our total was $33.00 and we got SO much food! Both my husband and I ate and have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Everything was tasty and we had no complaints. We lived in NYC for 4 years and it compares to places we've been there. It's not the best Chinese you'll ever have, but a solid choice. Live in Vancouver Canada, love my Chinese food eating at least a couple times a week, well at least till I ate here, now every time of think of Chinese food I start to gag. The curry chicken was tasty, STOP !, we placed a large order wanting to get a good idea of what the menu offered. Picked up order and drove home with a foul odour filling the car. found almost all of our selection un editable. put in the fridge and when I opened the fridge door in the morning that awful smell filled the kitchen. My wife said throw it away but I couldn't open the door again without the urge to throw up. I've always said that things should always be looked at twice and in the last two years that I've been living in Marathon Florida this restaurant has gotten a lot better with the quality of food and its service. Needless to say that by far it has withstood the hands of time and the distraction of Irma, yet there's never a shortage of customers coming in and out of the door. So that should pretty much tell anyone that the food is good regardless of whether it is the only Chinese restaurant in town or not.. if the food would not be good no one would be coming in and out as much as they do. So try that famous sesame chicken or try that beef and broccoli and as long as you're at it get some of the special fried rice you will most certainly love it. Parking is plentiful space is always available service is always on hand with a smile, and get some hot tea as it should with your dinner they always have a pot ready! We have stayed in marathon twice a year the past 5 years. The "fast food" options are horrendous and we realized we had never tried the Chinese. The inside is nothing fancy but we ordered a lot of carry out for 12 people. $140 bucks worth so it was expected to have a few mistakes. What a pleasant surprise when everything was perfect! The food was much better quality than some of the reviews here had lead us to expect in past reviews. Most everything was great! The pork egg rolls are fairly large and we're very good. As much as I love the endless fresh seafood and outdoor eateries of the keys, sometimes you crave good Chinese food, and when you do there is only one spot in marathon: Panda House We have ate here on several occasions and have never had a bad experience. There is plenty of parking and easy to get back on US 1. The restaurant is a bit dated but it's family owned and operated. You might see the owners children doing homework in the corner or quietly playing games up front. Food is decent Chinese. Not the best not the worse, but the price is right and it's the only place in town. We usually get the dinner for a group that you can pick items from side "a" and "b" everyone gets a soup and an egg role. It's an affordable option and it is served family style so you can sample everything. Our group enjoys chicken fried rice, General tso, egg rolls, hot and sour soup and the wontons. read more

With the grand baby fussing and everybody getting hungry going out was not going to be an option this night. Decided to try Panda House out since they were close and we could pick up, but wait, they deliver. Even better. Online ordering was quick and efficient but it would be 45 minutes before the food would arrive. The delivery driver had trouble finding the house because it is new construction and not showing up on the map but he still beat the estimated delivery time by 20 minutes. Now would the food be to our expectations? I would have taken pictures but everyone devoured the food so fast there was no chance. Needles to say, expectations met. Under promised and over delivered. The wings were full chicken wings not just pieces, portions were generous and every dish hit the spot. No complaints from our table. Ribs, General Tso chicken, ma po tofu, and happy family all made the grade. Since we'll be in marathon now a lot more with the new house I look forward to putting Panda House to the test to see how they do with with some additional dishes from some of my favorite Chinese restaurants from DC, L.A. and the Bay Area. Based on our dinner tonight I don't think they'll have a problem hitting the mark. read more

No. Got the veggie fried rice, Hot and Sour soup, and KungPao chicken. Definitely too much celery and not enough peanuts and chicken in the KungPao, but the flavor was good. This is a solid three and a half star place...the service, late at night, pushes it to four stars. It can be difficult to find good authentic Chinese food here in southern Florida. We arrived just as they were closing down. We were met in a friendly way and the staff made it obvious we were welcome, despite the time. We ordered wonton soup followed by a chicken combination plate and fried rice. The food was very good and fresh; there was plenty of it, and it went down well with their hot Chinese tea. It is a nice, clean place. The restrooms are spotless, the staff are friendly and accommodating and the bill was ridiculously low. It is Chinese food without the usual sweetness that characterizes Chinese cuisine prepared for American tastes. I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

We ordered beef and snow pea pods, House chow mein feng, golden fingers, roast pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, and specialty dish black pepper chicken. We requested the order to go.
