I had a pregnancy scare from this place due to how filling the food was! Food ordered: Plate w/ two scoops of BEYOND CHICKEN, Super greens, and Chow Mein. Compliments: Beyond Chicken was good, filling, cashier was nice Complaints: There is no real line structure so you either awkwardly stand in front of the door, hoping no one cuts you or something of the sort. I don't know who the architect was but they should have known better. The person starting my plate acted confused when I told her what I wanted. Lol, I said beyond, green, chow mein (i can't get two entrees cause I do not eat meat/dairy). I don't know, she just made it so complicated. Overall: I was in there for about 5-7 minutes, check out process was quick. I wanted a vegetable spring roll but those weren't done cooking (got it elsewhere). I didn't like the super green juice mixing with my other food, makes it soggy. The atmosphere is alright, people stare a lot (around/at you) like they own the place. Lol I don't know what's up with that. Anyway, I'll probably come back. - the ovo-vegetarian read more

Panda Express - Build Your Own Plate - 2 Half Sides Beyond chicken super greens chow mein (spring rolls from a different restaurant) - Chinese Near Me - Michigan City, Indiana

This place was gross. It was a mess all over the counters, my order wasn't what I ordered, and the staff looked either overworked or nonchalant about the whole place. Would not recommend. read more

Placed online order through DoorDash. Missing over half of the order, including entree. Called DoorDash driver who said to contact panda. Called Panda and was told to come in & they'd make it right. Went in and she called the manager and they would not replace the items that I did not receive. What a waste of time!!! read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would!! Imagine enjoying your food and boom you bite down on something and it pokes the inside of your mouth! Only to spit it out and realize it's a piece of the dish Brillo pad! Yes you read that correctly!! I instantly call the store and the manager tells me how she cannot do anything without the receipt. In a situation like this a receipt shouldn't be necessary! This is disgusting! This is an error on their end!! Waste of time and money!! read more

I really like panda express. This has got to be the worst panda express I've ever gone to. And I've been here multiple times Very poorly managed always out of multiple main dishes. Food quality is not good either. Very disappointed. read more

The food here was great, surprisingly much better than all these other reviews are saying. The cooks were seriously working hard to get the food out as efficiently as possible, so that was impressive to see, but the servers were not anything to be impressed by. The servers would talk and ramble and take their sweet time to make our orders. I'm assuming the manager was the one with the black shirt, (her name was Angelina), she was the one goofing around the most! She had her back turned at the serving line while a line of customers were standing there waiting. I feel bad for the cooks at this location because their management is embarrassing to say the least. read more

I have visited Panda Express locations all across the country and this one is without a doubt the worst. The place is absolutely disgusting! The floors and tables were covered in food and spills, the bathroom was horrendous. The food area was a mess, most of the options were completely out or looked like they had been sitting for hours. On top of that when I walked in all 3 employees looked at me and then continued their conversation. I should have walked out, but I waited. Thankfully another employee came from the back and helped me, she was super nice, but you could tell she was frustrated with her fellow colleagues. read more

What a huge disappointment. I have to tell you that I've traveled all over this country and I've eaten at numerous Panda Express locations. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a Panda. The people working here are not happy. Not a single employee seemed engaged or interested in what they were getting paid for. All of the employees...I mean all of them, seemed like they were stuck in low gear and were just clock watching until their scheduled lunch or end of shift time arrived. The restaurant was filthy. The trash cans were full and overflowing. The tables and floor didn't look like they had been cleaned all day long, there wasn't a single napkin in the 'single' dispenser. This is a top notch fast food chain right? It appeared as though someone had started some sort of construction project inside and just abandoned the job and walked off. There were tools strewn about and sharp and unsafe materials within the publics immediate area. This doesn't seem right to me. I can tell you that I have never, in my entire life, been more unhappy with a fast food experience. Something needs to change here. read more

The problem this restaurant has is poor kitchen logistical management oversight. They are constantly out of items on the serving line. And they have had this problem for years. Workers are not rude nor nasty, just indifferent. Food was okay. read more

"Yesi" lets people take online orders without checking for confirmation and claims to say she does but let someone else take our food. Panda Express - The girls who were disrespectful - Chinese Near Me - Michigan City, Indiana

This location is poorly managed. There is never any entrées up, the pans are dry. They focus more on DoorDash and deliveries than on actual customers in the store. If you want Chinese in Michigan City, go anywhere else. read more

Incredible staff!! It was SO busy and I felt awful for the workers but they did a fantastic job- whoever was working April 27th 2024 thank you!! the food tasted better than any panda I've ever been to and they were all friendly even tho it was packed. Absolutely delish read more

I got a disingenuous "Hello. Welcome to Panda" as I walked through the front door. At least wait until you're standing in front of me before barking out your forced greeting. Nothing worse than being greeted by someone ass-up and picking something off the floor. The rice and chow mien noodles were dry and stale. The orange chicken was overcooked (hard, dark brown, and dry). The server nearly dropped my bag as he rushed off to his next victim. My suggestion, DON'T GO TO THIS PANDA! Seriously, was a BIG disappointment. read more

I have time to write this review because I've been standing here for 50 minutes waiting for my online order while half of my order sits on the counter getting cold and I'm waiting for orange chicken. They need to do better. Maybe the fact that there are 15 people running around back there instead of four well-organized people is part of the problem read more

We love Panda Express, Quality food at a fair price. Not to mention, it is clean and shiny all the time, and the staff greets you the minute you walk in the door with a "hi welcome"every time. But what brings me here today, is that, I would like to praise an individual worker who really makes our day. She is a shift manager that clearly radiates Pride, work ethic, and customer satisfaction, every single day. A rare breed, that seems to be diminishing amongst some of the youth today. Her name is "Alyssa"and I'd like to say thank you for your energy, and your hard work. I know you will be rewarded greatly in life, because you add value... and that was very evident to me. read more

This is one of the few places in Michigan city where is the food is good 9/10 times. I rarely have any problem. Food is usually ready when it's suppose to be. I suggest ordering ahead online if you can. Staff is polite unlike many other places in this town. read more

Some of the crabbiest and most careless employees I have experienced. After arriving at 8:00, the employees informed me that they close in 15 minutes and will not cook any more food, although they were out of nearly half of their entire menu. Once I informed them that it was only 8:00 (they close at 8:30), they told me, "well that's basically 15 minutes". After the employee spitefully agreed to cook more of 1/3 items I wanted, 4 other customers were served with the item I had requested to be cooked before I was called to the line. For a company that says they are trying to build, "an organization where people are inspired to live better lives", they are certainly flopping if this is the way employees are acting. I have no intention on visiting Panda Express again. read more

I have tried to eat here 3 times since Covid all 3 times were a complete disappointment. Staff is very unfriendly and could care less that your there. The food is always low or just completely out and no one making anything till it's down to nothing. Last experience I had there was a line of 7 people in front of me. One person taking orders 2 guys in the back that were not helping with the customer load. Woman at the register that was more interested in her phone than helping the other person serve. They were almost completely out of orange chicken and teriyaki chicken and she didn't call for more to be made till she was out of teriyaki chicken. By the time I got my chance to be served they were out of everything. I will never be going back to this location. I have ate at other Panda Express restaurants and they are not tan this poorly. read more

Wok fired Shrimp, they make it the way it's supposed to be made!! Don't pass this restaurant up!

Every time we come here the food quality and service goes down. Can't believe it's possible, but it is at this location. Waited for 40 minutes to get our to-go order because they didn't have any food made. Then when we ate it, it was evident that it was not cooked completely and was missing it's sauce in the honey walnut shrimp and the seasoning and soy sauce on the lo mein noodles. Sadly, after coming here for several years, we won't be coming back. Go to New Buffalo, Michigan instead and eat at Song Asian Cuisine. At least they serve real Chinese food and it taste good. read more

This is the WORST Panda Express experience ever. The cashier TORIE. She's definitely has an attitude problem. We ordered 3 plates combo and ask for cups of water. And she gave us 1 cup to share for 4 of us. We gotta go back and forth to get water refill. We ordered crab Rangoon and told us the wait is about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes and she didn't give us it. Instead she took a break eating and forgot our crab Rangoon. We go to the counter and ask for it. The guy gave us it and no apology was given. TERRIBLE !! District manager has to fix this problem. I think that they all don't want to be there. Treat others the way you want to be treated. read more

Make sure you server is not in a bad mood. If so, you can expect a surely attitude served with tiny portions. This store is hit or miss.

I was visiting from out of town. The place was super clean and the food was fresh. Alyssa waited on us. She was friendly and knowledgeable with the menu. She was training 2 new team members and it did not affect our experience at all. They checked on us during the meal and took the time to make light conversation. If only, all fast food was like this place. read more

I was in the mood for the orange chicken Panda Express is famous for. When I entered the store the staff greeted me. They were extremely friendly. I got my bowl of orange chicken bowl with noodles. It was better than a Chinese restaurant I had recently been. The staff checked on me twice to make sure I had everything I needed. Kudos to the staff. read more

Look. If you're going to Panda Express, your expectations should be incredibly minimal. The ultimate test is whether the food tastes like plastic. Really, just ask for a sample taste as they typically allow. And if it tastes like plastic, then move on. The staff seemed fairly disorganized, and it was a bit confusing on where to line up as customers started to form up around the food. While their pricing is attractive, you should know that the food's been out for a bit, not rotated or anything along the the lines of practice in which places like Chipotle would follow. So beware. Open food, warm, incubating who knows what. The chicken and beef, in their many forms taste all right. Their chow mein noodles are a bit thin than what I'm used to, but it's passable. Barely. Wontons? Oily, incredibly hard, won't be edible if you don't eat them up right away. And that in itself is a hard task to accomplish. Unfortunately, there are worse places than this throughout Michigan City. read more

This stuff is crap. I only agreed to eat this stuff for lunch as I was a guest and the group I was with suggested it. I ordered the chicken wontons and the broccoli beef bowl. The broccoli was mushy, obviously frozen broccoli thawed and stir fried. The beef tasted like fish, and they stopped serving the chicken won-tons. Even for fake Chinese, this is bad as it gets. You'd be better off ordering from some hole in the wall than from this fast food place. read more

Ordered online with the COVID-19 issue. Ordered at 5:36. Set the pickup time to 6:15. Arrived at 6:07 sat in the line waiting for over 35 minutes waiting for food. During my time at Panda Express, when I first came in inside the restaurant. They had a line of customers (more than 15 people) waiting for their order and that's because they were short staffed. It's not fair that the employees had to work when they are short staffed. I overheard that some of them are working on her day off. They also don't have enough people to cook the food either. In result my mom's food was very very terrible. The dining area was a mess there were no tables that were cleaned (seriously Panda Express we are in the middle of pandemic) because of it we couldn't sit down and eat our meal. While we were looking for at least a descent place to sit. They had to temporary closed the restaurant due to short staffed. There were customers who were coming inside the door to eat at Panda Express and they were turned away due to short staffed. When we were eating in the parking lot in the Lowe's there were people who were coming into the parking lot thinking they were going to eat at Panda Express. I am calling out Panda Express to give higher minimum wage and incentive so they can employ more employee to better serve their customers. I'm very disappointed in the Panda Express company. Thanks for giving your employees the best job in the world. (Sarcastic tone)! read more

Don't order online it's way quicker to come in and order cause I've been waking for an hour and 20 minutes in this place

This location was very disappointing to say the least, first thing in the morning and almost half of the food plates were empty so i didn't have much of a choice. Also, the sign saying that the chicken teriyaki machine is broken has been there for weeks, come management Fix It. The noodles also felt like they were from yesterday left over, very dry. Ordered a plate of honney walnut shrimp and orange chicken with white rice. Thinking it was all there I drove all the way home and came to find out it was just white rice inside the box. Called them and let them know the issue at hand and they said come back and we'll remake it for you. Note that I live around 20 min away and between gas and time this is a ridiculous gesture of re payment. I asked fur a full refund on the phone and when I got there she offered me the same proposition to avoid a full refund.
