I do not really get fast food that often and places change menus super fast so looking at what I want takes forever. The very sweet person manning the speaker was super patient and guided me through ordering. I was seeing the fish sandwich but no combo option yet the combo option listed by the hamburgers said they could add fries and a drink to create a combo. That also works on the fish sandwich. I did just that. No matter what fries you get (depending on the seasonal options), you can't really go wrong though even just the regular fries are delicious. My order took a bit because they were not busy so it was super fresh and while I waited I had a great chat with the very kind gal at the window.

All the toppings are free which is a nice option. Everyone's prices seem to be going up, I would think that Carl's is probably on the high end.... If you're smart you will get the Big Hamburger and pay for the extras you want - it's way cheaper than the rest of their offerings, just not quite as "fancy" (I know, an oxymoron for fast food, huh?) it was too good to be true - they "parked" my car as I went through the drive through tonight - I wanted some more crisp burritos. I waited 8 minutes until I went inside to go get my food. That's craptastic - if you send someone around to park because the food isn't ready, you don't have any excuse to let their food just sit once it's done. boo. I've already waited longer than I should, you should get it out to be pronto. Next time I'll just sit where I am at the window in your little drive through until you get me my food, that should help you expedite my order. This Carl's / Green Burrito is one I go to often - it's probably the closest place to where I live. The food is always served hot, they have never messed up the many orders I have placed and when you eat in, they bring you your food. I've always been met with cheerful staff. I tried the BBQ nachos last night - weird idea, but they were really quite good. The jalapeno's really spiced it up and I was happy. While a little more generous serving of the BBQ wouldn't hurt, I walked in, they greeted me cheerfully, happily explained what this new offering was, took my order and then brought it out to me quickly. It was hot, it was delicious - what more could you ask for? (It just feels wrong to give a fast food joint 5 stars, and like I said, it would have been better with more bbq). Their breakfast burritos are the wife's favorites - it's sad that they are not offering any breakfast specials like Jack in the Box and some of the other places are offering. I was jazzed with their biscuits when they first came out but something doesn't quite work as well as it did before. I had the crispy burritos today for lunch and they are also very tasty. I feel like Carl's has a wide selection that should appeal to almost any one. The fresh salsa bar is a big plus, so it would just be wrong to give it less than 3 stars, until they treated me like crap tonight, now it would be unjust to even give them 3 stars. On balance it is a 3 star place that didn't do a great job that night I liked it, I might keep going there,

A group of four of us had lunch there Saturday and speaking for the General Tso's Chicken? Phenomenal. Have I had better? Most assuredly but Peking Station's gone, home to what many of us felt was the perfect rendering. Theirs was half broccoli florets, though, and Joy delivers the chicken sans accompaniment, dressed in a perfectly flavored and balanced sauce. One can request it spicier if the need is felt. I ordered their Vegetable Deluxe (Buddhist Vegetables elsewhere) and House Special Fried Rice to go and it was as if the little white "Kari Out" cartons had a bit of twinkle dust sprinkled on them. I also took the balance of my General Tso's and a couple of cartons of white rice they threw in. That evening I plated dinner for a couple of relatives who found the vegetables, which I added a goodly amount of seasoned shrimp to, and rice delicious. They left with leftovers, too. Then my wife and I had dinner though we included some of the General Tso's. Loved it. The next night we lazily revisited the leftovers and made another outstanding meal and had a quarter carton of the Fried Rice left. No end to the takeout as they packed the boxes, literally. Just simply dependable, warmly served and faithful renderings of old favorites. And the postage stamp dining room has a certain charm that complements the very attentive table service. A safe bet you shan't regret.

Let's see how the food is. Maybe I came in at the wrong time? I'm pretty sure my presence is not wanted. Not the best feel when you're trying to have lunch. Every item was dropped on the table with a clash of glass from the table top, and plates/bowls. Then slid over to me. If the food was 10 then maybe it wouldn't have bothered me. But the food was basic. The spring rolls and hot and sour soup were the highlights. The crispy wrapper, tasty fillings, with their sauce was good. The hot and sour soup pushed me into some childhood nostalgia, and points are won there. The general tso chicken was odd. The breading in the chicken was on some pieces and not others. There's a bath of sauce on the plate, and any crispness of breading was gone. The taste was okay. But with a lack of spiciness, and no peppers to be seen in the sauce, it was mostly just really sweet. The pork fried rice had a few small piece of pork and no veggies like a normal pork fried rice (peas and carrots??)... overall it was bland. It also didn't blend as a great soaker for the generals sauce. Overall the main plate also looked a bit monotone in color. The flavors weren't horrible. It was overall average, with an ok experience. I may come back and try again. Maybe it's just an off day.
