Like most Alaskans in the middle of a remodel in 2021, I have experienced serious delays, customer…read moreservice nightmares, damaged cabinets and an all around awful time. After having my kitchen demolished, I was quoted 10-12 weeks to get my granite slab shipped, and an additional 3-4 weeks for cutting and delivery. Yes, you read that right. 4 months. Obviously that wasn't going to work, so I set out to find another countertop locally. After calls around town, I was starting to accept the idea of no thanksgiving, no Christmas, no New Years events and I'd be lucky to have my house back by Valentine's Day 2022. Then I called Granite City. I spoke to a very nice lady yesterday who promised me they had slabs on site, and in my color scheme. I came in at 9am and thanks to Gena, in 20 minutes walked out with a quote that made me cancel my order with HD on the spot. I actually saw the granite we ordered and instead of waiting months for my templated granite to be cut, delivered and installed, it will be less than 2 weeks. Granite City has been a breath of fresh air in a horrible renovation.

Outstanding customer service and superb installers--Travis and Nick are outstanding craftsman. They even polished the counters and swept the floors before they left. It is a pleasure to work with people that truly take pride in their work!! Will post a picture once the project is complete.

Over 2 months to get tile. ? Yup!…read more " you made a bet based on our information". Quote " won't take review seriously" Business owner. If you are a contractor or another person who needs to manage the flow of a job, employees, your time, other projects, you will pull your hair out and become infuriated from a patronizing attitude. Imagine putting off plumbing in baseboards...trim, kitchen appliances...etc.. Due to poor information from Florcraft. Imagine paying your construction crew or personally being on hold for two weeks....frustrating. And then receive a patronizing attitude for making the mistake of making a decision based on their information...infuriating! You'd never put in an order here again. Me and my other two builds won't! I placed a tile order July 24th I received it in 3 weeks , damaged on Aug 16. I'm thinking another 3 weeks... Sept 3 , I queried for an update. " your order " ...in seattle ...arriving next week "" Perfect, I thought that's inline with the three weeks of the previous. I added a week to that to allow for a delay in my build planning...( see?, I'm not unreasonable) Here it is sept 18 th...no tile.... It's been two months .... And Floorcraft has no idea where my tile is. Did the sales person follow up to ensure the tile was shipped? No! After it didn't show up in 13 days did they wonder where it was ? No! I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction at them not knowing where the tile was and that I made commitments and juggled time to enable this job. I received a patronizing text. In effect... This is Alaska and freight arrives when freight arrives. Your frustration is self created by making the mistake of juggling time for,the job based on OUR communication. " you made a bet based on our information" You read that right... That's an exact quote! Are you Frikking kidding me? I've lived up,here for 60 years and am more than aware of Alaska shipping As a matter of fact, I make an effort to patronize local until I get a reason not to. Here we have a case NOT TO! I've found ordering your own construction supplies direct, paying shipping, getting a shipping tracking number, enables a better price, better planning ahead, and less frustration. The only reason to patronize local is for customer service.....which I expected! I did not get that. The sales person is patting themselves on the back claiming their advise was crucial for my project. What they don't know is i received the exact same input from: Hurst hardwoods on the east coast. L&L flooring , online hardwood company.... And Dana at the northway mall home depot who with her husband install hardwood floors in the valley. The best and better! advice for tiling I received from matanuska tile.. Here the salesman have actually been on their hands and knees installing tile for years! The ego and self importance at Floorcraft is unjustified. Update, Go figgure, The day after I raise hell, my tile left seattle after sitting there for two weeks. Hmmmmm...what a coincidence. We had to use Florcraft when we built our home in 2017... that's who our builder had as a sub…read morecontractor. In the beginning, we were excited... but some others sucked the joy out of the process or we ended up being extremely disappointed with the final product and now a few years later, even more so . The latter is our case in point. We originally went in knowing what we wanted... tile... tile throughout the entire house. We didn't care about the cost, we knew what we wanted and yet the salesman managed to talk us into LVT saying how it's commercial grade, it'll hold up to anything and everything and has a 20 year warranty that can't be beat! Talk about regret and disappointment from the beginning! The day we did our final walk through, we found several places in the floor where the installers didn't scrape the subfloor and there were raised areas that are very visible under the flooring. Think of a rock under a carpet. They came out to look at it and said all of our baseboards would have to be ripped out to make the repairs. Hard pass since we had just moved in days before and that would also damage the walls. The regret started to set in immediately. Sigh... Fast forward a couple years and we have a plethora of scratches throughout the flooring and notice that it's delaminating in one of our offices. Our salesman no longer works there and another gal comes out... she was quite curt in letting us know we should have had a desk mat and it wasn't covered by warranty. Mind you, we received nothing in the way of paperwork or documentation regarding the incredible aforementioned warranty. To top it off, the manufacturer no longer makes our color of flooring, so regardless, we can't get it fixed. Awesome! We notice several planks in our bedroom, kitchen and dining room starting to come apart, which means the tile is no longer waterproof. Again, a reason we wanted tile was to have a waterproof floor that would hold up to life. We called and sent in several photos as requested and waited for a reply... waited... waited... and finally after a couple weeks we reached out AGAIN. Go figure, the email from the manufacturer went to her spam as though they had never been in contact before. SMH! She let us know via text that the house settled (mind you, the foundation had been built for more than a year prior to the flooring being installed) and this wasn't cover by warranty... remember that previously mentioned awesome warranty?!! Augh! Of course we can pay them to come out and fix it though. Go figure! Ironic how this amazing waterproof flooring can come apart so easily but yet they talked us into using it in our brand new home and settling makes it defective. Can you see my eyes roll as I write this and reiterate how unhappy we have been with this crap LVT flooring?! I've recommended other to Florcraft prior to all this crap happening... I hope they're happier with their products and service. Two bits of advice... don't let people talk you out of what you know you want. Only YOU know what you want. Also, stay away from LVT... it's the equivalent to cheap particle board flooring in my opinion. You won't be happy with the wear and tear after just a short time and you'll end up replacing it earlier than expected.
