Now that I feel better, Friday I treated my mother, daughter, niece and her five year old daughter to Poncho Tacos on Lexington Avenue, we ate well per usual, spent $80 and left close to 5:00. Next thing I know we and contracted FOOD POISONING that night around 8:00 PM. First I notice my stomach bloating really badly and of course diarrhea and vomiting. I couldn't sleep well that night from being sick. Next morning my niece calls and ask, "hey are you sick"? I'm like heck yeah we BOTH had the same symptoms. I call Pancho Taco Mexican Restaurant and the so called manager didn't apologize for one, nor did he want to rectify the issue. He literally said, "What do you want me to do"? I said excuse me?? Because I'm lost, how are you going to rectify this? "He says he's not"! I said what sir, we come here quite often since being here this past year, karaoke, lunch, dinner dates, my niece comes for margaritas with her siblings and friends and you don't want to at least refund me and my niece's cost of dinner (not knowing at the time my daughter was sick that night also and my five year old niece) since we ate the same thing and live separately and NEITHER ONE OF US ATE ANYTHING EARLIER THAT DAY... He told me no and never!! I'm like sir I paid $80 and I'm not asking for anything but our portions. He continues to say no!! Next myself, my niece and her daughter goes to urgent care and ALL THREE OF OUR STOMACHS WERE RUMBLING the doctor said and gave us Zoltan and said we had to let it run its course. It's so crazy we have a place that got us all sick and I'm getting backlash over $30 or so bucks and he's claiming the chicken and steak was cut differently and there's no way. I'm like sir my daughter is sick and she doesn't even eat meat, and there is a such thing of cross contamination. I had the Combo #7 (Chicken Burrito & Enchilada). Generous amount of chicken, good flavor and very nice presentation. Our first time at this restaurant, and it won't be our last. The food was excellent, hot and fresh and delicious. We ordered takeout, which was ready on time as indicated by notification. Upon entering the restaurant, I was surprised to see a festive atmosphere and indoor seating with smiling faces everywhere. Panchos on Lex Ave was the place to go for lunch once a week for our little group. Until the manager started hitting on us every chance he got,once he was rejected, we were not treated well by him at all. We had stopped going all together for a long while because of his behavior, but had a birthday this past weekend and these are her favorite tacos. We were greeted by a sweet girl at the register, he saw us come in and decided to come over proceeded to push her out of the way and passive aggressively take our order treating us like complete idiots. We order our food plain with toppings on the side because we are feeding 8 people and wanted them to be able to choose what they topped their tacos with because some girls are picky eaters. $135 later this is what we ended up with. Because we were setting up for a party we had a friend pick up the food, not thinking in a million years this is what we would get we were on a boat,this was our only food and we ate none of it. We called and let them know that our food was not anything like it should have been. We asked for the manager and guess who ‍ he knew exactly who we were and said we would have to send pictures so he could talk to his cook please, plain is plain! This is a legit Mexican restaurant in mid Ohio and a surprisingly good find. It has a three star exterior with five star food. The carnitas rice bowl and steak tacos were awesome. The guacamole, and all three of their homemade salsas were excellent as well. Try the horchata too. The cooks are Mexican and know what they're doing back there. We ordered guacamole and that was delicious with a good spicy flavor and chunks of avocado, onion and tomato. We ordered the Smoked Brisket Tacos (2 tacos) and Cheesy Diabla Tacos (2 tacos) and shared them. The brisket was soooo tender and smoked just right and tasted great with the toppings. I love panchos, the food is delicious and worth the price when it's right. My problem is this is the fifth time I've ordered it either for pickup or delivery and they didn't give me my salsa. FIVE small sides of salsa verde and they just don't put it in there. They cancel orders on Grubhub without any warning and over an hour wait for the food. Very impressed to get such good street tacos in Mansfield. Flavors were good and the price was what you would expect. My only disappointment was the Gordita. The pictures showed what looked like a tasty empanada, but it was more like a pita sandwich. All in all will definitely go back for tacos when in town. We came in on Taco Tuesday which has street tacos 2 for $3 and let me tell you for the portion size and quality you're getting it's a really great deal.
