They had a large variety of salsas which I was eager to try. My goto is usually the salsa verde and they had the traditional and avocado version. Upon the first bite of the salsa verde, I was caught off guard because it was so salty. When the server came over and took our order, I felt the need to let him know because it was not edible (IMO) but my husband also agreed. They kindly took the feedback and shortly after I saw some staff go over to the salsa bar and took it away. They actually ended up changing or fixing it and it was so much better! Hubby's tacos were awesome, super flavorful meats. My pork carnita dish was absolutely delicious! Packed with flavor, the rice was addicting and it was a great combination. The service was great as well so we look forward to coming back!

Bonus: I had enough leftovers to feed us both the next day for lunch! :)

The owner, Dave, really makes you feel like a welcome regular. He steered me towards his stand out chile relleno that was perfectly golden fried and delicious! I'm hard pressed to describe the type of Mexican food in terms of genre, but I can say it's not Tex-Mex, and leans more towards Mexican / American comfort food done right.

We saw this driving by and were trying to figure out whether it was the same Taco Casa fast food…read morechain they have in North Texas, that we have missed since moving away, and decided to have lunch here to find out. It isn't. It might have been at one point, who knows? But the menu is different and though some of the flavors are similar it isn't identical. Sadly, we like the TX version better, but the locals clearly love theirs as this place was packed at 1:40 on a Friday. I had a combo burrito w/o lettuce (not sure if it usually comes with lettuce or not but wanted to avoid the cyclospora currently consuming the country) ; hubs had a taco el grande and bean burrito. There was no sauce on my burrito at all, they have bins for you to add your own, but it is cold. Their sauce is mainly what is inferior to the TX TC; the beans and beef taste about the same. These burritos are much smaller as well (but also cheaper). I am a small eater but still hungry aftee just one burrito. If you want to have a variety the smaller sizes are an advantage though. Despite being very busy the food was ready pretty fast. They also have weekday specials , which make it a very economical option which is probably half the reason it is so popular. All in all, it is better than Taco Bell, but grade it on the fast food scale since it is very much fast food. If I were a local I'd probably eat here periodically too for a snack or a cheap meal. It isn't really a vacation meal though since it isn't the Taco Casa we miss from TX.

They had a pretty nice outdoor patio but it was too hot for that. We had a really nice server, young handsome guy. He was very attentive and replenished our chips periodically when they ran low. We stopped by the salsa bar and grabbed a plethora of different kinds. Unfortunately there were a couple that were "bad" or started to ferment. It was not a pleasant way to find out and I didn't want to point it out to the server because it may just be me. My husband did taste it and agree that it was like that but didn't want to make a big deal of it so we just ate the chips. I got carne asada because it was so good last time and hubby got some asada tacos. When my entree came, I noticed the rice looked to be either undercooked or possibly al dente because of the texture, you could see each grain and it wasn't soft and fluffy looking. When I went to take a spoonful it was actually cooked but could tell it was overly saturated in butter. I have never had Mexican style rice cooked this way and it was a bad representation of it. I understand if they want to be more Americanized or cater to a certain demographic but rice is simple and it tastes best made the authentic way, not with a bunch of butter. It was inedible for me and I just worked around the rest. The steak had a good char and had nice flavor, but was a bit dry. The tacos my husband ordered seemed a bit messy, and the meat was in large chunks rather than chopped in smaller pieces like how we've normally had steak tacos. Just didn't seem like there was a lot of effort put into the food made that night and we will most likely go back to the other location instead. Service was good, food and drinks were underwhelming.

However, today they had a presumably new employee who did not understand what "a la carte" meant when they have an entire "a la carte" section on their menu. This was able to be cleared up after some explaining. We also ordered sopapillas (advertised with honey, butter, and cinnamon) and received some other dessert that, by the time it was opened at home, was covered in melted ice cream and chocolate. I called the restaurant to inform them that their employee may need further training and their response was to first ask if I had the correct restaurant (I did, they repeated the name back to me over the phone while asking this) and then to ask when this happened. When I responded with the approximate time the order was taken, the response was literally "nuh uh." I will not be back, regardless of how much I enjoy their food. That sort of response to someone attempting to alert you to a problem with your staff is unacceptable.
